Hi Suzanne, I jumped back on for a few. Did you read the latest from Tae Ja, she is (TRYING TO) cut back on the DIS. We've been busting on her because she keeps reappearing even though she's supposed to be gone.

This is what hurricane tracker said tonight: Debby is not of much concern to any land areas and should continue to move on out to the open ocean as it slowly intensifies. Debby could become our first hurricane of this season. No matter how strong it gets, it will not be an issue for anyone except shipping interests.

Of greater concern now is the tropical wave/low pressure area that is approaching the Windward Islands. It looks as though this will go on and develop in to a tropical depression and likely a storm. In fact, the GFDL computer model shows it becoming a strong hurricane as it heads in to the northwest Caribbean Sea. Even the NHC's intensity model shows this becoming a hurricane. Needless to say, we will want to keep a close watch on the future of this system. People in the Windwards can expect squally weather for the next day or so as the wave and its energy passes through the region. The Hurricane Hunters should be out tomorrow and will give us a clearer picture of what is happening with this system.

Spent 4 and a half hours in the employee parking lot talking to Alex after work..

We only stopped talking because I told him to go sleep so he won't hate me tomorrow (He comes in an hour after me tomorrow-- seriously, who is making these schedules?! They're )...

I won't be around tomorrow. I've got work until 3:30 and then I've gotta run around like a crazy person and get my check cashed and get fingerprints and the drug test done..
Then class at 7.. until 9:45! *sigh*
At least it's only French.. should be fairly enjoyable.

OK, I'm back to only being willing to skim the last 3 pages to "catch up", its all I have time for! So if I missed anything, let me know. Lisa - I love dark chocolate! Whats up with TaeJa, start her vacation?

I know I'm way behind you guys but, took some old pants and cut them up to be pirate pants last night so I'm making progress. Will go to walmart tonight looking for hanging pocket thing, sunscreen and a pirate tshirt for DH. Anything else I "need" from walmart for this cruise? Any expert recommendations?

It appears debby is continuing it's turn away from the USA. The area under investigation seems better organized and is expected to develop in to a storm.
Trip wise, it is scheduled to bypass Florida and head into the Gulf Of Mexico. As there is nothing but hot water & air between itself and landfall, it could become a major storm, and impact the Texas/LA coastline.

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL STORM DEBBY...LOCATED OVER THE FAR EASTERN ATLANTIC ABOUT 845 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.

SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE STRONG TROPICAL WAVE APPROACHING THE WINDWARD ISLANDS REMAINS WELL-ORGANIZED AND HEAVY SQUALLS ARE BEGINNING TO SPREAD OVER THESE ISLANDS. SINCE CONDITIONS APPEAR TO BE FAVORABLE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OR A TROPICAL STORM TO FORM LATER TODAY...INTERESTS IN THE WINDWARD ISLANDS AND THE SOUTHEASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT IS SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON.
