Disney Wonder Sept 3-7,2006 Part 2

I don't know if I told you guys or not, but the day after we found out I was pregnant Tom received orders from the Marine Corps. to report. We've been pretty worried about it because he is still able to be activated to duty and deployed until 04/11/09.

His day to report was today and thank goodness, it doesn't look like we have to worry. He said there were about 100 of them from all over the area and they were talking to them about the pro's of re-enlisting by choice, instead of just being recalled.
The Gunnery Sgt. told them 40-60% of them would be reactived and deployed with the USMC reservists unit where they met.
However, Tom said this is a "grunt" unit... which I guess makes them the equivalent of the Army's infantry.

Luckily, we don't think we have much to worry about. Tom's only been trained to work with an aviation unit, so they would have to retrain him to deploy. With his disability, we don't think it's going to happen.

I'm so excited. This is the kind of news we were hoping for.

He also said it seemed like some of the guys from PA had the same idea as him because they all had non-regulation beards!! :rotfl:

...we're going to see Twilight here in about a half hour!!

Phew and woohoo!

Phew that he may not have to go back overseas and wooohoo to you two seeing Twilight.

Yooohooo Dawn, are you out there on FB too? :sail:
