Ohhhh that is a great idea! I have a storage cube on wheels thing like you speak of - I LOVE that idea! Thank you! :love2: I also have a little bag on wheels that has a seat that folds down - perfect for little boys that don't like to stand in line during embarkation - I can use that, too! And...I need to pick up my couple bottles of wine also. We just realized a week or so ago that our 17th wedding anniversary is the last night of the cruise - what awesome (accidental) planning!! :cloud9:

Also, I've seen other threads (and maybe here) whether or not you label all of your FEs that you give out - I label some, but some are just mystery little goodies that appear. I've even been known to make extra magnets and stick them on surrounding cabins just for fun and a tiny extra bit of magic. I'm glad we have small groups - the last Disney cruise I was one there were 2 FE groups. Our group of 5 (the latecomers) and EVERYONE else. They had a HUGE group, too. I much prefer the little groups.

Are there any of you that might have a DS or DD close in age (6-10ish) that might want to meet up with my DS that might be interested in going to the kids' club together? The kid makes friends everywhere he goes, but he's worried he might not find someone to hang out with some of the time!
My daughter, Leah, can't wait to get to the kids club. She is very active and has never met a stranger. She has equal numbers of boy/girl friends. I think it would please her greatly to have someone to look forward to meeting and playing with in the club.

That sounds great! I will tell Spencer that he already has a friend waiting - he will be THRILLED! Do you want to wait to meet until the ice cream social or do you want to try to meet up the first night just to say hi? We will be trying to change our late dinner to early and I'm sure Spence will want to check out the club the first night and start plotting his cruise!

Im sure my daughters Chloe and Kenley would love to meet up too! Chloe is very outgoing where as Kenley is shy and needs warming up to. She mostly follows her sister around!

I was wondering.....does anyone want quickie kiddo meet up after the muster drill? Kids that might be interested in going to the club so they have a few friendly faces from the start?

Tink, do you know if they have the secret balcony area on the Wonder? Or can you suggest another place?

Yes, they have the secret balcony. It is on deck 7, all the way at the back. If you walk across the back hall on deck 7, you will come across a hallway in between the 2 middle cabins. It will lead out to the balcony.
I was planning on ending the cabin crawl there!
We also were hoping to hunt it down either before or after the Muster Drill.

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that DCL changed their policy for carry on alcohol this year. You are no longer allowed to bring spirits on board. One six pack of beer or two bottles of wine is the only alcohol allowed. :(

Hi all
We are excited about the cruise!!! I cannot believe it is so soon!!!
As I start to pack I have a question. Does my 11 yr old son need to wear long pants for dinner or are shorts ok?
Thanks!
Betsy

Betsy,
If your 11 yr old would be more comfy in shorts, than he is allowed to do so as long as they are not swim trunks. Here are 2 links that you can read more about what to and what not to wear.

Also, Betsy, our FE group had a special request for the kiddos initials for a special personalized FE. If you could let me know I will add your reply to the list. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in getting out the Forget Me Not's today. We got to spend the morning in the ER after a wasp bite and our youngest's first experience with his epi pen. Yeah!!!

Any how, after today, I will only have one more Forget Me Not for y'all. It will be a 'Make sure you have in your carry on' list, and a generic packing list for double checking.

Today's Forget Me Not's is doubles. :teleport:

When you are packing there are 2 things that you will need to double up on.
The first is luggage tags (and I am not referring to the paper ones Disney sent you, I mean the normal ones that have your address and contact information on them). When preparing your luggage, make sure to put one tag on the outside of your luggage, and one on the inside of your luggage. The one on the outside, should have your name, address, and contact information on it. It is also a good idea to put the cruise name and cabin number on the back, or if you have one that you slide a card into, you can put an extra slip of paper in behind with that information. The one on the inside is just a back up in case the one on the outside gets lost. You will want to duplicate the information that you put on the outside tag. This way, if a need for you to identify your luggage arises, you will have the back up inside.
The second double is your prescription medicines. I know that no one wants to think about anything going wrong, but it is better to be prepared than wishing you had planned for the worst case scenario. So, if you have any medications that you take on a regular basis, bring twice as much as you would normally need. This way, if for some unforeseen reason, we do not make it back to the port by our disembarkation date, your medical needs will be covered.

Just in case you have not seen this yet, please take a minute to look over the "Prohibited Items" list from the official Disney Cruise page. Here is the link:
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/prohibited-items/

And just to make sure there is no misunderstandings (because I have seen and heard chatter about this), you are not allowed to bring extension cords of any kind. Also if you want to bring a shoe organizer, it can not be an over the door style unless you have fixed it in some manner to be able to be hung on a bathroom hook or on a hanger in the closet. You will receive a charge to your stateroom account if you hang something over the top of the door.

Does anyone know if the 2 bottle of wine or 6 beer limit is per cabin or per legal drinking age person?
Laurie, it is a per person limit as I understand. Here is the actual Disney wording (in which it says 'Disney Cruise Line Guest 21 years and older may bring...)
Prohibited Items – Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

Are Guests allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board the ship?

A.

Effective for cruises embarking on or after September 30, 2015, Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call.

Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle.

Please note:

  • These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.
  • Any alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Any wine or champagne in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Bringing liquors and spirits (including powdered alcohol) on board is prohibited. These items will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Guest MUST retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.
  • Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.
You can also read more about it here (http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=6495) where they explain that the limit is not just when initially boarding, it allows for the same amount per port as well. So you can bring that amount on when we stop at Key West, and when we stop at Nassau.
