Ok I have questions. First are any Cabanas left? I have read that you should keep checking if none are available because sometimes you get lucky. Second, we don't have our passports yet (we have applied for them and are waiting on them to arrive) so will that keep me from registering online? Third, how important is an early arrival time?

Thank you so much Tink for all your help! You have been amazing!!
Okay, don't hold any questions back.....:scared: throw them all at me at once....:crutches:

Just kidding...:rotfl2:

Cabanas - Currently all of the cabanas are booked :guilty:, But yes, keep checking (and this advice applies to all
things you are trying to book. If at first you do not find it, keep trying):surfweb: Worst case scenario
if you do not catch one prior to sailing, you can make a b line to the guest services desk as soon
as you board, and ask to be put on the waiting list.
No Passports :scared1: - Don't worry, this will not prevent you from progressing forward on you online check in.
You can always go and enter those numbers later when they arrive. Side note - if by
some happen stance they do not arrive, you can take your birth certificates, and drivers
license to use as ID to board and disembark once home. The only downside to this
method is if you encounter an emergency in the Bahamas that keeps you from getting
back on the boat, you will need to wait for the consulate to acquire your passports
before you can fly home.
Early Arrival:hourglass - This is more of a personal preference. We are ready for our vacation to start the day
before we leave home. That is probably why none of us will sleep the night before :scratchin.
We like to arrive early (the earlier the better in hopes of being at the front of the
crowds). This allows us to start our vacation first thing in the morning. We are able to
get acquainted with the ship, grab something to eat, and make any dining arrangement
changes we need to make, all before our cabin is ready. Then we can go and drop off
our bags, the boys will probably grab another bite to eat, check out the navigator to
plan the rest of our day from the muster drill to the deck party, and all the exciting
activities that follow. By the time the deck party is over and we have watched the
dolphins escort the boat out of the channel, we are ready to unpack.
On the other hand, there are folks who like a later arrival time. They want to get to
port once everyone has thinned out, and board just in time to take their carry on bags
straight to their rooms. If you choose this option, I would suggest you make sure you
have parking already reserved. That is unless you are staying at a hotel that offers
cruise parking.
We are staying at the Harbor House which is only a short 10 - 15 minute walk to Terminal
2. Although it will feel like our vacation starts as soon as I see the Wonder pull into port at
around 5 AM, we will be headed to the port just a little before Hotel check out time.

Okay, that wasn't so bad. Do you have any more?

Thanks for the answers. We sent in all our info for our passports a week ago today so fingers crossed we should have them before we leave. I have already reserved parking so if we get a late check in then that covered. I will keep checking on the cabanas. There is so much to think about. You have been a huge help. Thanks again. If I think of any other questions I will be sure to send them your way. :)

Kathleen shrimp would like to join please
Kathleen,
You are only 4 posts away from me being able to PM you the information needed for the FE. You can make it!
Check out the next couple of posts, maybe you will want to chime in.

Earlier in the week, I started a conversation through PM's for those interested in participating in the Ice Cream Social. If you have not received an invitation to participate in the message, but want to come to the ice cream social, just let me know and I will add you in. So far, this is who I have down, and what they are bringing:

PrincessBrit (and her sisters) - Name tags
pixiehallow - mini M&ms
Trooper5 - bananas and plate for cutting
beachie_keen - sprinkles
Happy Eeyore - Chocolate and Caramel sauce
MouseketeerG - oreo cookies
Baker Family - not sure yet
Daka2002 - mini reeses peanut butter cups

We currently are planning to meet at 1:30 on our day at sea between Galveston and Key West.
And as far as our plan for bowls, we were thinking either everyone can swing through the Beach Blanket Buffet and pick up their own bowl, or they can grab a small drink cup at the soda dispenser.

Let us know if you want to join!

Today I started a conversation for those interested in the Cabin Crawl. We have not decided on a day or time yet. And are currently tossing around a few ideas about fun games to play along the way. If you did not receive the following PM, but want to take part in the cabin crawl, please let us know. The more the merrier!

Here is the PM I sent out a little bit ago:

Hi guys, you are receiving this because you had expressed interest in the cabin crawl. This will serve as our planning area.
We currently have 5 cabins:
Pixiehallow
Trooper5
Emperor Tim
Cub77cub
PrincessBritt

I would love to see more for a better diversity, and will try to bring it up again on the main thread.
We need to decide on a time and date for the cabin crawl, and if we want to do some type of a game. If so, what game.

There has been a suggestion to have the crawl on our sea day after Castaway, because of the packing that may be going on the next day. I am fine with that, but it will have to be in the afternoon. Emperor Tim and our cabin have Palo brunch reservations at 11, and Trooper has 12:30 reservations. So, the earliest would be around 2:30.

As for games, the following have been suggested:
Poker (individual)
Trashket Ball (individual)
Trivia (individual or by cabin)

The second 2 are intended to be kid friendly. If you have any suggestions, or prefer one, please let us know. We also need some feed back on time / date.

I don't have a question just a comment.........YOU ROCK! :woohoo:[/QU

Did you PM me about the info you needed? Not sure if I got it.
I have tried, but you still are not able to receive messages. Another member was having the same trouble earlier in the week. I am attaching quotes of my posts that helped them through. If you could post when you get through, I will try again. Also once I can message you, I will add you in on the one about group meet planning as well.

Try checking settings under your profile.
To do this, double click on your screen name in the top right hand corner of this page. Then, on the left hand side of the screen under settings, click on contact details.
Now in the center of the screen you should have your message preferences. The second check box in this section says " accept conversations from..." Make sure that says 'members only'.

Hopefully that will allow me to PM you. :o

~Tink~

My only other thought is the privacy tab. However, I think that is what you were refering to orginally.
Under the Privacy tab, do you have Start Conversation with You set to Members only?

While waiting, I will continue searching. :guilty:

~Tink~

please tell me what you are needing from me
It looks like you covered everything for the FE. Would you like me to include you on the messages for the group meet planning? We have had 2 break offs from the original. One for the ice cream social, and the other for the cabin crawl.
Fun side note, our oldest son who is traveling in another cabin with his girlfriend, is also 19.

Monday Forget me Not's (only 10 more of these to go!)

Today's forget me not is a reminder for your carry on bag. Don't forget to pack a casual outfit for dinner that night in your carry on bag. The cast members will do their very best to get each cabin its luggage before you have to head to dinner, but there are a few factors that slow this process down. First, they can only deliver luggage that the port authority has already cleared and loaded on to the boat. Second, remember, that people can arrive as late as 2:30 - 3:00, which is only 2 1/2 hours before dinner. Which means their luggage still has to clear the port authority, and find its way to their floor after they board. Third there could be up to 2,000 passengers on the boat who each are allowed to check 2 bags in. That is 4,000 pieces of luggage that have to navigate the narrow corridors of the boat to find their home away from home. And fourth each cabin steward only has 2 hands.
So, it is understandable that your luggage may take a little longer to find its way to your cabin than it will for dinner time to arrive. But if you remember to pack your casual dinner clothes in your carry on, you will not have to worry. You will be all set to go.
Have a great week, and I hope everyone got a chance to get their online check in done.

~Tink~

One quick note, I just wanted to let everyone know that all of the lists are caught up. Also, I sent a PM out to most FEers a little while ago. If you have any questions, or need the FE list, please let me know, and I would be happy to take of it.

~Tink~

I have one!! How do we reserve parking at the port parking place? I am so new at this!

I can help since I just did this :) I went to this website http://www.portofgalveston.com/index.aspx?NID=91 and just did it all online. It saved $5 to do online and I have a spot. You will need to print out the agreement and bring it signed, but it will tell you to do that when you register.

This is our first cruise as well and I have never used this facility before and hopefully someone will chime in and let us know if they have used it before and how it is.
