Hi there! My family will be on this cruise and we are so excited!! It will be our first Disney cruise. How can I sign my 5 and 2 year olds up for the fish extender group? Thanks!
Happy Monday! I was reaching out to cabins that I still need FE information from. In order for me to send you the list of questions via messaging, you need to reach 10 posts. If you need any help with that, please reply and let me know.

Also,
spjack13
Psalm3012
I also still need to hear from you.

We did the poker thing on our cruise this past January as well. We had 5 cabins that we toured, and each cabin that was being toured, brought a deck of cards. When we were viewing their cabin, we picked up a card for our hand (there was debate about whether or not to mark the card with our initials to deter cheating). At the last cabin, we checked our hands, and the person with the highest hand won. We had an entry fee of $5 a person, and the winner received the entry fees as a prize. I was thinking more along the lines of winning an actual prize if we did poker. The other fun thing the hosting cabins did, was having a bowl of candy or snacks out for everyone.

The cabins that are currently signed up are in category 11B (this cabin is small, and would only stay on the tour if we did not get enough larger cabins...however, it is good to see what one of these cabins is like for those who may have considered booking a small inside cabin in the past or will consider it in the future. I find it helpful to actually be able to visualize the space when planning), category 9A (handicap accessible), and category 5B - Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. I am trying to convince a friend of ours that will be on this sailing to participate as well. If I can talk him into it, there are in a cabin with a verandah also.
What category is your cabin?

~Tink~
We are in a 1 bedroom suite with adjoining deluxe ocean view with verandah - category 00T - we did a cabin crawl on the Carnival Magic and Royal Navigator of the Seas. It was fun!

That is awesome, I can't wait to see it.
Our cruise in January was on the Navigator.
The friend that is cruising with us has decided to join the crawl as well.

We currently have 2 DIS board members.
Plus, there are 4 other cabins that have said they want to sign up, they just have not joined the DIS board yet.

I will add an FE list to the first thread, and keep it updated as we grow.

Check your PM's for a message with the info I need to fill in for the FE list.

~Tink~

P.S. Mshelby, did you want to join the FE? Just let me know, and I can send you out a PM as well.

We would love to do the FE too. Is there room? Thanks!

Just my stinking luck! My family's first ever Disney cruise and they do away with signing stuff. My little girl was looking forward to a pillowcase signed by the princesses. :guilty: I can understand why though, they we're probably getting pretty overloaded with stuff.

I know, I was bummed as well. I have all the fixings ready to go, to make 3 pillowcases for our friends kids that are sailing with us. I was talking to Solaryss yesterday about this, because she had just purchased pillowcases for her kids.
I suggested that she still could create a magic moment for them, and you could as well. This does all depend on how crafty you are though. You could get plain pillow cases for the kids (in addition to the autograph ones), and find the autographs you want to use online. Once you have the autographs, you can make a print up of them. There are 2 different ways you can go about adding the autographs. First, if you are confident in your copying skills, you can use the print up as a guide, and sign the pillowcase with fabric markers. The other option is to use fabric crayon transfers. With this option, you would print the autographs in mirror image, and then use the iron transfer crayons to trace the autographs (make sure to cover each letter completely, and do not make any stray marks). Once the autographs are traced, you place them colored side down on the pillow case, and cover with a second blank sheet of paper. It only takes a few seconds of heat and pressure from your iron to transfer the images. If you decide to do the 2nd method, I would suggest practicing a transfer onto a scrap piece of material first.

Now, armed with 2 pillow cases, you can make sure your daughter sees you put the plain pillow case on the pillow, and then at some point sneak back to the cabin, and make the switch. By the way, the pillows for the hide away beds are usually kept in the storage box in front of the couch.
Another option that just crossed my mind as I was typing is that you could also find your room steward, and ask them nicely to place the autographed pillow case on for you.

I hope this helps.

Attention all FEers in groups 1 and 3, there has been a request for the last name associated with the cabin, and the kiddos names. The requester is wanting to personalize the gifts for each family/ cabin. You can either post it here on the thread, or send a personal message to either me or elsafan. Thanks in advance.

Today kicks off my last weekend of summer. We chose to start school the first week of August so that there wouldn't need to be any reason to hurry up and work ahead so that we could have the entire week of the cruise off, and we would still be able to finish the fall semester before Christmas.
Unfortunately, I kept so busy during our break, that there are a few things on my check list that I never got to. I still have a weekend though. Hopefully I can at least get everyone's sports bottles painted. I wouldn't so much mind mistaking my hubby's sports bottle for mine, but I don't think I want to make the same mistake with my sons. Aside from that, I just need to find small Mickey head apliques.
That will leave list making, organizing, and packing for the next few months.

For all of our first time cruisers, I know that 3 months and change seems like a long time until your vacation starts, but believe me when I tell you, that it will fly by before you know it. As summer is wrapping up, and stores are putting their summer items on sale to make room for the loads of school year merchandise that is coming in, now is the time to shop for all of your cruise items. If you wait until the end of September or October, it will be very difficult to find anything summery (such as swim wear, snorkel gear, and beach towels ). Also, something I have learned the hard way, definitely buy up a size for the kids. 2 years back, we went to do our pre cruise shopping in August, and figured since our youngest typically only has 1 major growing spurt a year (which was usually in the middle of the school year ) that we would be safe in getting his cruise gear in his current size (at that point the cruise was just a month away ). Boy were we wrong. Not only did he grow 3 to 4 inches before the cruise, he out grew his football helmet by the 2nd game of the season.
Also for those moms who may be getting some new shoes for the cruise, the sooner you get the shoes, the more time you will have to wear them in (no blisters...Yeah! ). Because, even though this is a cruise, and not the parks, you will be doing a lot of walking (take a look at a map of the Wonder and locate your room, then locate everything you want to do or go to. There is a running deck on board, and I believe it says 3 times around equals 1 mile. So if you are like me, and your cabin is at one end of the boat, with a majority of the dining and activities at the other, you could easily walk a mile if not 2 before lunch).

Have a great weekend,

~Tink ~

Okay, one thing done, I got the bottles painted!
Now does anyone know of a place I can find small Mickey head apliques? I would even be fine with embroidered apliques for sewing or ironing on.

Any who, here are pics of the bottles.

I couldn't get a good pic of the one for our oldest son.

I actually remembered the Monday Forget me Not's on Monday. Yeah!

This week's reminder is the cash. Everyone one probably knows that once on board, your Key to the World card is your door key, your identification, and your credit card. But it doesn't take care of your tips. Just to be clear, I am not referring to the gratuities that are either prepaid or added to your on board account (side note .....Tink moment. ....If you want to give your gratuities in cash, envelopes are available, and you can request to have them taken off your on board account. Personally, we like to personally hand out the gratuities to all of the cast members who have taken such good care of us. ...). The tips I am referring to are the small cash thank you's you share with the porters that help with your luggage as you arrive at the port, the room service attendant that brings your late night snack of milk and cookies, your excursion guide, and the shuttle bus driver that returns you to your car at the conclusion of your trip. And because change is not the easiest thing to come by, plan ahead to have 1's and 5's.
