Question: If you plan on making edible FE's how do you get them past check in? Since snacks and such are not allowed. Do they check your carryons?

When they scan your luggage (whether carry on or stowed), they are looking for things from the NO NO list, like alcohol, weapons, and such. If you are having edible snacks that are wrapped in original package, it will not be a problem. If you intend on opening a package of something, and giving individual items, you should bring the entire package on board, and divvy it up once in your cabin.

Not sure exactly... but have sundae toppings pinned on my pinterest. You said no to alcohol though... but I thought you could bring your own? I thought about bringing some small bottles to add for the adults.

I am not sure on the "exact rules" , but on our last cruise on the Fantasy, we had a group member from Germany who brought all of the Adults in the group miniature schnapps bottles.
Let me do some research and get back to you on that.

Those are great links.. kinda funny they only mention bringing wine and beer onboard, but then say you can bring liquor purchased at port on board too.

I don't know about anyone else, but I had a little trouble finding the Test board to post on in order to get my posts up to 10.

My experience has been that they will scan your carry on (like when you go to the airport), and will not search through it unless something comes up suspicious on the scan. By suspicious, I mean like a weapon or anything that might be considered dangerous.

HAHAHA!!! Why else would we all be here??? I give my hubby the countdown every morning. He thinks I am a bit ridiculous. 279 days!

I made this for our last cruise. It is easy enough a beginner can sew this. Plus, it is a quick project. It only took me about 45 min. That included get the pattern set up and measured for accuracy.

Not sure if ya'll have noticed the change in port times at Nassau. When I booked we were shown to be arriving at 7am and leaving at 5:45... by October they dropped us down to arriving at noon and leaving at 5:45.... now they have dropped it down even further. Arriving noon and leaving at 5:15. I called Disney to ask why such a huge drop. I am sure that for some people it might not be a big deal, especially if you have been to Atlantis multiple times. This is our first cruise ever, and obviously first Disney Cruise, and Atlantis was the only excursion we were planning on. The cut from almost 11 hours down to just over 5 is drastic to me. They said we could write guest communications to express concern. Here is the email for anyone that is interested.

I had not notice that. Thank you for being on top of the times. I also think that writing guest communications is an excellent idea. If we can get enough people to write in, maybe adjustment could be made the other way.

The people at the 1800 # said they are not involved with anyone making those decisions so they really couldn't give an answer. My friend, who is also on our cruise emailed her agent and got this response. "We regret the disappointment you have expressed. Please be assured, your email has been shared with the appropriate management teams. It is not our intent to upset our loyal Disney Cruise Line Guests.
Please allow me to explain. There are a variety of factors that determine how long the ship will be in any given port, from dock availability to time needed to reach the next port.
In addition, even once onboard, port times may vary and are subject to change without notice, depending on the Captain’s judgment at the time (based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, sea/tidal conditions) and local port operations.
With that being said, there are still opportunities to experience port adventures at each of the locations visited. Even though the time ashore may seem short, there is still quite an extensive list of experiences offered. Based on availability, I am sure you and those traveling with you would have a great time on any one of these.
We regret any disappointment and hope these concerns will not continue to affect your regard for Disney. There is magic in the Disney name and we anxiously anticipate sailing with all of you again."
I figured it doesn't hurt to email the higher ups. I mean, I can see inclement weather being an issue, but 9+ months out why the big cut in times? It was the ONLY port excursion we had actually planned on doing. Considering they say its a 25 minute ride to Atlantis, that is at least an hour you will be going back and forth... and if you only have 5 hours to begin with... ya.. just slightly disappointed here... well ya.. more than slightly.

Well, if they don't change the times, I would do some research to check into getting a water taxi over to Atlantis, visiting the shops and the Aquarium, and water taxi back. When we have checked on previous sailings, doing an on your own thing was much cheaper than the excursion.
My only worry would be the amount of time at port. You would have to watch the time closely.

Speaking of on your own, we are looking to do the Duck tour in Key West. It is one of those bus tours that drive off into the water and works well a a boat to motor around the water ways.
We also were going to go and find some conch for my oldest son. That is one of his favorite things about cruising the Bahamas.

They cannot leave you if you book port excursions through them though correct??? We will probably stay close in Key West IF we get off the boat at all... Seeing as we have two littles, I don't want to get into driving around too many places or going too far. MMM conch... when my hubby and I honeymooned in Belize we ate a LOT of conch.

Yeah, if you book through the boat they guarantee to not leave you behind!

We have been to Atlantis 1 time. We were getting an island tour from a friend of a friend who lives there. Needless to say, we did not have time for the water park, but the aquarium was nice. That trip is when our oldest fell in love with conch. Our new friend/ tour guide for the day took us to a local hole in the wall eatery some where in the middle of the island where she recommended that we try the conch. It has been an endless pursuit ever since.

As for us, we are going to do the chocolatier excursion and go make our own chocolate (as long as that tour is still available....it should be, it was a short 45 minute to an hour excursion, and it was only about 2 blocks from the boat).

We definitely want to join your FE group! I love that it's being kept small since this is our first FE and I am afraid I'm a little overwhelmed!
