Disney Wonder Mexican Riviera - December 4th 2011

I was singing that song from the sail away party (heeeeey, hey baby - hoo, hah, I wanna know, oh, oh, oh, oh, if you'll be my girl) to DS in the car today. I don't know if he remembers from June but he seems excited for this cruise! Lol. I asked him if we were going to see Mickey on the Mickey boat!

Welcome to everyone joining!! :welcome:

Just finished up my FEs yesterday, but haven't started to think about packing yet! Times have really changed for me because I used to be packed 2 weeks early! :yay:

A bit of Adventureland in this one...

Oh I like this too - it makes me feel nostalgic..... :cloud9:

Dylan'smom weren't you on the WBTA with us.

Yep!! Not sure if we got to meet, but I do remember your door..lol We had such a HUGE Dis group, and when we met in Promenade that first day, I couldn't begin to meet everyone...just sort of wandered in & out. I was traveling with a troupe of girlfriends & it was a crazy 2 weeks!! And you guys were in my FE group!!!! (Shhhhhhhh...I always do a modified version of the same FE - sorry it may be a duplicate)!

Hi!
....I saw an earlier post about alcohol and bottled water. Is there a limit how much you are allowed to carry on? I've read, somewhere online, that there's a limit of 2 bottles of wine per adult. Any insight? Not that I plan on drinking that much, but it would be nice to have the option to bring a few bottles extra for sharing and such.

Please wish me luck this week, my son is a late potty trainer, he'll be 4 in February and still not quite there. The threat of not swimming has not worked yet...a bit nervous of major meltdowns when his sister goes swimming and not him. (and I might need the wine referenced above to end the day with this going on!) Cheers!
Liz

No worries about amounts, Liz! There have been a few rumors of regulating what's brought on board, but I have seen everything from carry-ons overflowing with bottles, to a luggage rack loaded with full cases of beer & water wheeled on! When we did our EBTA out of Orlando in the spring, the dude at the security check asked if he could go with us when he saw our x-rayed carry-on, packed to the max with adult beverages!! :rotfl:

Oh, good, good luck with the potty training! My DS is now 20, but he was slow too - there just doesn't seem to be any rushing of some people (in more ways than one - he took his time at birth lol), but once he turned the corner, that was it - never an accident. Fingers crossed for you that his "time" has come. :]

Worked on part of FEs tonight. I still need to shop for stuff, too. I also need to find a suitcase, as my Mickey one broke after Alaska.... I really need to work on my packing list and also send DHs suit pants to the cleaners. I hope I can get everything done this week. Are we really sailing in a week??? I am so ready but so not ready!

Just a thought - we usually bring anything that needs to be dry cleaned and/or pressed with us "as is" & send it out the first evening on board. It arrives back by the next afternoon, and has been done very nicely, and --is cheaper than getting it done where i live!! Press-only is half price, so I also launder some things if possible (not suits of course) and have them pressed! I usually have a separate bag with those items ready to pull out of the suitcase right away to make it easier - they often get wrinkled in transit anyway....just an option!! :cool1:

Okay......time to go find the suitcases...lol Happy packing & safe travels, everyone!!

It is sunny and beautiful here today. The weather does not look as nice for next Sunday so bring a sweat shirt for next Sunday.

If anyone needs anything let me know. I am 15 minutes from Disneyland and 30 minutes from the port. I am going to head over to Downtown Disney this week to pick up some things.

7 more days until we sail and less than that until most of you start your vacation!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

This time next week, we willbe boarding the wonder! Right now it looks like San Pedro will be aboout 63ish and Anaheim will be about 66ish. That may be a little chilky but it sure beats the -2 that it currently is and our high of 16 today!

LG123- while you are in DTD, will you please (or if you already know) check to see if build a bear has Mickey themed bears. I have seen pictures of a white bear with blue, green, red, yellow, etc mini mickey ears printed all over. I'm just not sure if they are still there. Thank you!!

The plan for this week...finish packing and writing Christmas cards! 7 days!!!!

Hi!
Less than a week before we leave N. California to head South and I'm finally starting to get prepared. A bit nervous how late I'll be up the night before we leave to finish packing! A week afte we return we are throwing our annual Christmas party and I have decorate the tree and house this weekend before a madcap week at work.

Hi, Liz,

You're on our cruise!??? I don't see you on the Roll Call list. I don't want to leave you out! Would you please send me your first names? My gift is for all of our group, not just the FE group.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Thanks,

Judy :banana::banana::banana:

Find Me, please!

At the terminal and during lunch I will be wearing a pink DCL tshirt and a black sequin scarf around my neck.

Please Please Please find me and receive your gift. You will be glad you did. Do not be shy, approach me, I don't bite! We are planning to get to the terminal by 1000.

Again, this is for EVERYONE, not just those on the FE list.

'See you REAL soon!'

Judy

Aw, that's very thoughtful of you to make a gift for everyone!! Very sweet. :hippie:

I'll try to find you. We will most likely make a "bee line" to RBD when we first board for getting a res for Palo & stuff (wait, I think it has a different name on the Wonder...lol)!!

We usually go to Parrot Cay to do the inside lunch if we board early enough & get all our "chores" finished in time for lunch (wait - is that what it's called on the Wonder?), so wondering where you plan to do lunch? But, I'm actually not sure when we will be getting there this time - usually like to go early, but may be sorta late, so....if I don't find you then, hope to make it to the meet & greet! :woohoo:

Couple questions.....
Does anyone know if the ship will already be decorated for Christmas? I know the parks really hit it right after TG, but not sure about the boat??

And we're NOT meeting on Promenade, right? (getting my cruise threads mixed up, but having 2 to plan is a good thing..lol) - the Hawaii meet started so long ago, and I'm so behind on this one!

Better really get the suitcases this time!! We will be at DL in the VGC for almost a week after the cruise, so packing will be hard to keep down. Who am I kidding? I always overpack!! :3dglasses

Can't wait to find you Judy!

We just received our D23 magazine for this quarter! What a perfect way to prepare fore a cruise!

From what i have heard, tye ship should already be decorated for christmas!!! I am super excited to see her decked out and ready to celebrate!

We are hoping to eat in parrot cay when we get on board as we have always eaten at beach blanket, but either way it will be great to be on board!

I hope we make it onboard in time to eat at parrot cay. We are always too late and end up in BBB. I don't know what I'll be wearing but im sure DS will have on some kind of Mickey shirt...lol.

I just wanted to say hooray to everyone and can't wait to see what everyone did for the FE.

I failed miserably in time management and didn't get the actual Fish Extenders made so it will just be bags hanging from our fishies for us.

We leave ridiculously early tomorrow morning for some fun at Disneyland before the cruise.

Hope to see some of you there!

What time is everyone getting to the port? Our time is 11 - 11:30. I have never had an assigned time so do we have to go at the time or can we go earlier?

For the people that have more than one stateroom, will you have a fish extender at each room or will we leave your gifts at just one?

My understanding is the boarding times have been set because of the larger ships but it doesn't matter too much for the Magic and Wonder. We'll see, this is the first time for those for us also. We always get their early. We plan on being there between 10 and 10:30. A lot will depend on the shuttle from the parking area.

Each one of our rooms will have a Fish Extender as they are each participating. I'm not sure what others will do.

It's almost time! I'll start my packing tomorrow.

See you there!

Judy

Hi,

Thanks to a friend crusiing the month prior to us I just found out about this board.

While my husband and I have gone on a few cruises. This is the first time we are going on DCL and we are very excited. Our kids will be 4 in February and are madly in love with all things Disney.

These boards are enormous and I've spent hours browsing and making notes on must do's and tips. Any input or insights to make the most of this trip would be greatly appreciated.

-Liz

I am so sorry i missed your earlier posts! I dont know how i missed them! I saw your most recent post, but i couldnt remember you posting earlier. I will add you to the roll call list. I can add you to the FE if you would like to participate. I cannot promise lots of gifts, as the cruise ib only days away. Again, i am so sorry i missed your earlier posts! See you in a few days!

When we checked in we selected a port check in time of 10am. I was just reviewing our cruise docs that we received and they say dcl transportation pick up time at DLH is 12:00pm, PPH is 12:10 and DGCH is 12:20. Earlier this year we had dcl transportation from lax to port and they picked us up at 10:00. We are going to check on it when we check in, because we really wanted an early check in time so that we coukd get on board early. We shall see...

Only 5 days!!!

There are 2 families that don't have the kids names on the spreadsheet for the FE's. My gifts are personalized so if you could get me those names that would be great.

Also, there is one family that doesn't have a cabin number. I was hoping to print the deck plans and highlight the cabins for the FE's.

Thanks!

Another quick question for this first-timer, what time is the "sail away party"?
Thanks!
