Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

As the list keeps growing, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on keeping it to one group, or breaking it up into several groups? Right now we are just around 50 cabins, and 3 to 4 people per cabin. When you add it up, it seems pretty high. I don't know how groups in the past have handled it, but feedback is appreciated.
Cyndi

I'm up for whatever the group decides. I have actually started making my gifts already in anticipation of making 50+ of each item. Our first FE exchange only had 15 cabins involved, so I am excited about the prospect of more, but if it creeps into the 100 cabin mark, I might be changing my tune.

Any other thoughts? Though mine was a fuzzy thought, sorry about that. Let me throw a less fuzzy thought out, maybe if we get to the 60 cabin mark we split in half?

If it's that large, I'd be all for splitting it up into a couple of groups at least. I don't think I'll have unlimited luggage space for the goodies (I'm sure I'm not the only one) Even 50 small things will take up a LOT of space.

I did get your PM. I have you all updated, and just awaiting your cabin numbers when you get them. Also, I would LOVE some help. My DH thinks i'm crazy for doing this anyways, but I love to be involved just like you.

I’m for splitting us into groups. If we continue adding people we won’t know how much to buy or make. I would personally rather give something nice to a smaller group than something less expensive to a larger group. Maybe we could split into groups and also have the entire group cabin list available that way people would have the option to give to everybody if they wish. Just a thought..... :)

I'm all for splitting it up as well. I would rather give nicer things to a few people than not nice things to a lot of people. Cyndi--Thanks so much for doing this!

Cyndi, please let me know if you haven't gotten a PM from me! I tried PMing a couple weeks ago and we're still off the list.

Thanks,

Angela (Neriberi)

Cyndi, I also think splitting the group would be a good idea. If we have so many families this early, it may really huge by the time we sail. I'd be willing to help too, just let me know. Anything that doesn't invole sewing, I'm really bad at that. When the kids were little they brought any sewing needs to their dad, not kidding.

I don't think my message went through to you, can't find it in my records. Anyway my grandson's name is Andre' and is 9 years old. Our cabin is 2062.

Hey everyone, I created a Facebook page for the Teens on our sailing.... It's called the "Dis Amigos Teen Meet Up". Please let your teens know, and have them start posting! I hope they make lots and lots of friends on here..!!:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::rotfl::rotfl::cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Darn it! I am trying to surprise my boys with the cruise. But it would be nice for my them to make some connections/friends before we sail. Oh bother...what to do??

cyndi, i had thought about mentioning my thoughts about splitting in my pm to you but wanted to make sure you still wanted/needed my help before throwing my $.02 out there, lol! glad to see everyone seems to be on the same page w/ me in considering splitting. my thought was that we could have the entire group listed for those that are "diehard" so they COULD exchg w/ everyone if they wanted and then for everyone else we could split into 2 or three groups (A and B or A, B and C) and have lists of who is in which cabin. we could still have a combined "meet" and would still be one group but the actual exchg would be on a smaller scale so that as others mentioned it will not only cost a fortune to get nicer stuff or take up several suitcases but also so it doesn't take several of our days to actually deliver! however i know there are probably some who part of the fun of this trip will be to finding everyone so by all means, take on everyone if you want, lol!

as for how to split... my sil suggested doing it by levels on the ship b/c it would be easier and faster to find everyone but the fact that some won't have their cabins assigned for a bit makes that hard to do. plus i think it would be fun to have an excuse to "wander" the halls of the other levels :giggle: so i thought just doing it randomly would maybe be better, we could also try and make sure that those w/ teens are in the same group? i'm open to whatever the masses want tho.

i am all things disney at this point. i just found hsm fabric on clearance at hobby lobby so i bought some to make a dress for dd. she is going to be disney head to toe for 7 days straight, lol! not my original intention but it's SO fun and we still have several months for me to fill w/... all things disney, lol, in anticipation! i have NOT however gotten the supplies to make my FE yet, i am waiting for it to go on sale. :rolleyes1

i know this is quite long but i also wanted to ask if anyone knows what color green is the dcl green...i'm still trying to find out and "google" isn't much help beyond telling me the disney company recycles, lol!

First, I'll clear up a name confusion...I meant to say "kkmcan" recommended that we join this list...my previous post listed the name wrong...

There, are you happy now Kyle? (inside joke)::yes::

We are in cabin #6552, and I have more to add to the list: (sister+family)

DH 40, DW 40, DS 12, DS 9-x2 (twin boys) total of 5...

Getting closer...to our Disneyland trip in Sept!

I agree. I'm going to start looking at splitting and see what I come up with. I was thinking 20-25 per group?

You're all updated.... Thanks.

Hi All, so I was thinking that we could have a get together on board at some point to celebrate any Birthdays that the kids will be celebrating. Maybe a meet up on deck close the the ice cream bar, and we could get some cake and sing a great big Happy Birthday to them. I know that the cruise is plenty of a gift for my little one, but I still want to make sure he feels special, and like there is somewhat of a "party" for him. We usually take vacation during his Birthday week, so he has'nt actually had a birthday party in a few years. He turned 4 at WDW in 2009, and turned 5 last year cruising the Western Caribbean aboard the Disney Magic,...LOL This year, he'll be turning 6 on our day at sea, and wanted to do something special....but i figured, the more the merrier, and i'm sure other parents feel the same way I do......
so how about it?

I think that the birthday get together sounds like a great idea. :bday:
If we knew the names and ages of the birtdhay kids, people that wanted to could buy or make cards for them.

All of us getting together sounds like fun to me. I was also hoping my daughter (8 yrs) could meet up with some kids from our group early in the cruise. She’s our only one left at home and won’t have any siblings, etc. Our oldest just signed up for the Air Force and he will leave for boot camp around the holidays. :sad1: Anyway, as we get closer I will try and organize something.

I was thinking 25-30 per group, but maybe we should wait until we see exactly how many we have on the list so that it can be divided evenly. Should we set a deadline for sign ups?

Also my friend (eyeluvmickey) and I wanted to be on the same list so we could distribute our gifts together. How much of a pain is that going to be?
