I am sooooo excited! We booked our first ever cruise! We're local to LA to we had to jump on the kids sail free since we don't need to consider airfare. The kids and I have never been on any cruise but my dh went on one with his parents when he was 19.

Anyway, Disney lovers describes us perfectly and there are not enough smilies on the side to accurately convey how happy we are!



I'm going to go back to read posts I missed and my family definitely wants to join the fun with the FEs- though we'll need some tutorials.

Also, just a quick question, anyone here vegetarian who's done a Disney cruise? Since we have zero issues eating in the parks, I assume we'll have no problems on a cruise either, but I research and plan everything so I gotta ask.

Anyway, happy to be here and can't wait to jump in!

Wow our group is growing each day!

Question for you guys that are flying? Have you guys bought your airline tickets yet? I am hoping I will be able to use Southwest rapid rewards so I can't even see their schedule yet. Does anyone know when Southwest will open booking for the dates of our cruise?

Disneyfanforever, we'll be flying in from Portland and we hope to use our Southwest Rewards too. Isn't it about 6 months out that they have the scedule available?

disneyfanforever, we booked flights out of Little Rock but I used American. I did not want to wait for southwest to come out because it is spring break week. I compare South west Sat to Sunday flight on there sched now and it was about the same price of course they have free luggage. Deanna

Southwest Air will start booking flights thru March 11 on August 17. So I would assume sometime in September is when they will open up past March 11.

I am also waiting for JetBlue but can't find on their website any info on when they open their booking window past January ? They offer great deals from PDX to LGB and allow 1 free bag per person so I'm hoping.

Hey! Nice to see some fellow Tucsonans and Phoenicians here! There are a bunch of other Tucson people who will be on this cruise who are not signed up on this meets thread yet. I need to tell them to get over here and sign up!

We have been waiting and waiting for this cruise! The last two times Disney has been over here on the west coast to do Mex. Riv. it was way too expensive! I couldn't justify $5000!!

We are driving over the day before and will stay somewhere near the port. Need to get that booked soon.

We are also doing the 2 night (Jan 21, 2011) Cruise to Nowhere.

I have started thinking about what FE gifts I want to make. I emailed someone here our info so we should be signed up for the FE exchange.

I have a question regarding FE’s. Do we typically exchange with one cabin or a group of cabins? I’ve started purchasing a few things and I want to make sure I don’t over/under buy. Should I buy multiples of one thing for a group of cabins or individual things. I may be over thinking things. I found some cute items I would like to buy. Thanks for your help!

Although I am not a vegetarian..I have food allergies so I have to deal with the menu a lot There are usually vegetarian meals on the menu each night. If you have a concern, just ask your server to provide you the next night's menu the night before (they do this for guests with food allergies) and you can look at it but I do not believe you will have any problems.

Usually you have an item for each cabin that is participating. Multiple per cabin is your choice and would depend I guess on what you are giving. They do not have to be the same item for each cabin. I usualy give a few items to each cabin depending on the cost but I make sure I have atleast 1 item for each cabin participating. Hope this helps!

Iam back from a crazy week of swim meets, Pony League World Series qualifying baseball games, we missed going to the world series by one loss and Work. Four weeks til our Brentwood group (32 of us from Brentwood Ca) get together for our first cruise dinner and FE crafting. At first we were going to cook from two of my cruise cookbooks, but the guys said it was too hot to cook a seven course meal and stupid so we are going to wait until it cools off to do that. We will just BBQ for until it gets cooler.

We watched the internet very closing last year so we could get a deal on tickets to Florida for our March 30, 2010 cruise (that we canceled) and purchased airfair the first week of Oct 2009 on Southwest I would keep checking each week. We are now trying to figure out what we want to do with our plane tickets as they have to be used by October this year. I think I will fly to Vegas but my DH can't make up his mind. Actually he still does not believe that our credit has to be used by October or we will loose the money.
