Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

Better yet we could seize control of the theater on Toy Story the Musical night to save everyone from the horrors that would otherwise be forced upon them.

Ryan, I'm actually looking forward to TSTM. I know it gets bad reviews from everyone, but I know my DS will adore it. He likes the little preview they give on the DCL video. However, I agree with you regarding the outlet in Anaheim. It isn't nearly as good as the ones I've visited elsewhere. Either you're correct that the "good" stuff goes quickly, or they hold off on the better stuff and send it to the outlets that are further away from DLR.

Now let's talk about Golden Mickeys. Was this on the Magic? Did I somehow miss it last January?

Anyone else being cheap this holiday and waiting to see Disney films once onboard? I'm thinking of holding off on Tron because of this. I know it's cheap, but I don't think I'll have much time to see it before then anyways.

I am going to "experience" TSTM again in Janurary. Since I have seen it before my expectations will be set so low that maybe it will have gotten better and I will be pleasantly surprised.

I am pretty sure that the Magic has Twice Enchanted for the past few years instead of the Golden Mickeys. The Gold Mickeys was enjoyable when we saw it a few years ago, much more enjoyable than Toy Story. It is definitely worth seeing. Interestingly the Golden Mickeys is also performed at Hong Kong Disneyland.

I'm really excited about Tron so we are going to see it before the cruise, but unless it is a total disappointment I am planning on seeing it again on the cruise. Apparently they can present the films in 3D on the cruise, I wonder how it will compare to a normal theater. We didn't see a movie on our previous cruise so I've never been inside. From what I have read the theater seems pretty small (270 seats).

We saw four or five movies on the Magic. All but one was in 3D. The quality was comparable to our local theaters here. They use the same 3D glasses as in the parks.

My DW has no interests in seeing Tron, so I'll be flying solo on that day.

As for braclets Jessica we will need 6 adults not 4 and as far as the kids go will they fit toddlers ? If so then Amber wants 2

Hi Cari,

I can only tell you that a youth bracelet is 7 inches in circumference and an adult bracelet is 8 inches in circumference. I do not have kids myself and I do not know how a child's or infants wrist is in relation to an adults and these bracelets. I do need to say though, if she orders the youth bracelets and they do not fit there will be no refund. I have to pay out of pocket for these and hope that everyone actually pays me for them - the company will not accept a return because it is a custom product, so I cannot allow the return if it doesn't fit either. I would suggest either getting the youth and hoping it fits, or not getting bracelets for the infants.

Please let me know what you guys want to do! :)

Hi Ludari, welcome!

I'm looking forward to Toy Story too as I haven't seen it. I welcome the variety as I've seen the other shows a few times now.

Twice Charmed replaced Hercules on the Magic. Golden Mickeys and Dreams are still on both ships.

Now I'm just waiting for the rain to stop so I can finally get outside to put up our Christmas lights!

Thanks Airtime.

I too am looking forward to the Toy Story show. I did see Twice Charmed on the Magic in September but the Golden Mickeys was replaced by a Villian show, which was great. I don't remember Dreams but heck I saw so many shows on the ship and at WDW I can't remember them all.

I will also postpone going to the movies to watch Tron to enjoy it on the Wonder.

Oh, I hadn't even heard of the Villains show. They were still showing Golden Mickeys on our last cruise but that was a year ago May so a lot could have changed since then. It's good to see them changing out the shows. I would be tempted to skip them after a few viewings.

I think we will still be watching all three shows on the Wonder.

-steve

Hi all

Jessica - Just skip the youth and give me 6 total thats 4 for me and wendi ashley and aaron and 2 for me for rick and Amber - total 6
I have seen where people could pre pay you on e bay but i dont know how to work it - I would try to figure that out somehow !

Ok I herd rumor that they are taking golden mickeys away on our cruise and replacing with something else SAD SAD SAD FACE I loved golden Mickeys the most guess I will try my disney reservations gal tomorrow and see if she can shed any light on it - I hope they keep it I SOOOOOOOO LOVE IT - Toy Story is my lest fave if they should replace anything it should be that .....
I found out from my reservations girl that Christian will be our cruise director YAY !!!! I had him on my last cruise a total sweet heart
Thats all I know for now - Does anyone know what time they will let the first people board like the family of the day ? We tend to board just after that because of Denver so Im wondering isnt it like 11 or 12 ? I forget ugh

Hope everyone is well -
oh I SO WISH I was scuba certified I would do it in a heart beat -
as a side note Wendi Is going to pass on the ride with Randis horses so there is 1 open spot for anyone wanting to go and fill that spot ... I think Im still going to go with the group :thumbsup2

I've heard of the Villains show, but haven't seen it. The rumor was that it was initially too scary, and that they had to tweak the show to make it less scary as it wasn't well suited for young children.

I never did get a chance to see Golden Mickeys and I still don't recall it being on the Magic in January.

Kris

Cari - that sounds great, I will put you down for 6. I'm sorry that I couldn't be more help. I looked to see if they had any bracelets smaller than that, but they didn't. I'm sorry :(

Steve, Kris, Ryan - Everyone:
Have fun with toy story, but I won't be there. I really want to know which night it will be so I can schedule something else, like a spa treatment or something. That is the worst show I have ever seen and those songs are HORRIBLE. The worse part is that they are catchy so they get stuck in your head and then you feel like you want to take a spoon and scrape the music out of your brain! No exaggeration, it's BAD! Ryan, Dudley, I know you are my husband and I love you dearly, but you can bet your you know what that I am not going to see Toy Story - maybe some of the others will let you sit with them :rotfl2: Anyone up for letting Ryan sit with you during the show so he's not alone? P.S. I'm not joking, I will not be seeing this show, I will hang out by myself if I have to. :thumbsup2

Jessica,

Saying that the songs are catchy, get stuck in your head, etc. sounds vaguely similar to the complaints I hear about It's a Small World. Maybe that's part of the magic :)

Honestly, I don't have any personal interest in seeing the show; however, I know my DS will enjoy it, which is why I want to go. He has a couple of Toy Story books, and they annoy me as they are simply a dumb downed version of the movie. While I can understand that Disney doesn't want a book publisher to vary the story, it's really lame to read the Cliff Notes version of the movie as a bedtime story, which is what the show sounds like it is.

As for needing a spoon, I'd actually recommend an ice pick. It fits neatly between the eye and eye socket; the only way to use a spoon would be through the nose, and that just sounds way too uncomfortable and as far as I know was only ever done postmortem. However, frontal lobotomies are another story :scared1:

Seriously, I'm thinking we should tie you up with glow in the dark blue glow bracelets and make you suffer :rotfl:

Sorry . . . can you tell I've been up way too long grading and have way over consumed on the caffeine?

Kris

I was wondering if you guys could drop a message here stating who your favorite character is and include (especially) everyone in your cabin, please? I am starting to put together my FE's and am really having a tough time matching up characters with all of you. I think if I had a favorite to work with, it would be great! So just type your name and your favorite, PLEASE :woohoo: The sooner the better.
Later,
Sue :sail:
BTW, Sue-Tigger :tigger:, Jeff-Mickey Mouse :mickeyjum & Alec-Donald Duck :donald:& sometimes Goofy:goofy:, too. :rotfl:

Sue, here is our info.

Kris:
LOL - you are too funny! :rotfl2: Tie me up with glow bracelets and make me suffer - good one! :rotfl: Let me tell you though, with my size you're going to need a LOT of bracelets!

It's not that the story is bad or that the show as a whole is bad, it's that it's a musical and the movie isn't so they had to create songs, and the songs they created for the bad kid (the boy who burns all of the toys and stuff), it's just *shiver* EHHH! In truth, this is the reason I won't be going: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mpnv8RGb9e8

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you guys shouldn't go - when "Sid" isn't in the scene it's GREAT, but the Sid parts are so horrible that I don't care to see it a second time. Anyone who hasn't seen it, and anyone with kids, should definitely go. Lucky for me I've seen it and I don't have kids - so that makes me outie 5,000! :cool1:

Good luck with your grading! I have a final due Saturday, A final Monday, a final Tuesday, and a final due Friday/Saturday next weekend. My math is what worries me - cross your fingers for me (that one is Monday)!

By the way, do you guys know if you're going to DL Saturday with all of us? I think Karen and Sue are both coming in from out of town. Ryan and I will definitely be there too! :) We'd love to finally meet you guys!

Sue/Karen: Since you guys are flying in and all, we should really figure this out based around your schedules/time with your families. Ryan and I would probably tag along all day if you let us, so we should figure something out so we don't do that :rotfl: We're pretty sure we'll be getting there when it opens. The only reason we wouldn't is if I don't finish that Final before then and I need to stay home and finish that first. But - I've already started it and I should be able to finish late Friday night :thumbsup2 What were guys thinking we would all do? Hang out, ride some rides, breakfast/lunch/dinner - anything in mind? Ryan and I are open to anything! Sue, I know you have my phone #. Karen (and Kris), I will PM you with my cell so we can coordinate! :) I'm stoked! :3dglasses

Cari: I forgot to respond to your ebay idea. Thanks for the idea, but I don't think I will be doing that. I was thinking of giving the option of my paypal account (because then I don't have to use the $ on a specific site, I can just put the money back into my bank account) - or - there is this thing on Amazon where you can give someone an electronic gift card for any dollar amount, so that would be easy too. The only thing with that is that I would have to spend it on Amazon. I will probably give people the option to send me a check, use paypal, or Amazon, but first I need to talk to Ryan and make sure he doesn't care one way or the other. I will be sending a PM to everyone getting bracelets to let them know the details. :thumbsup2

Everyone getting bracelets:
The turn around time is 7 day production plus ground shipping (7-10 days), so I need to get the bracelets ordered ASAP! I am going to set a date for myself of THIS COMING Friday to place the order. I will place the order this Friday (12/9) and then email everyone with the details of how you can pay and how you will get them. :yay: So, if anyone wants to join the list you need to let me know before Friday evening at 5:00pm. Also, if anyone has any changes please let me know by then. :)

You guys are great - I am getting so excited to meet everyone!

Sorry I have been MIA as I have been reading the super thread for Christmas and they are posting multiple pages each day. BTW if anyone wants to see Disneyland during Christmas time but can't get there check out the thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2262171&page=223 this is for the last page and if you are just looking at pictures start at the end and work your way back. :surfweb:

Thank you every one for your feedback with your favorites! I can't guarantee anything but I am going to use that info to make it a little more personalized, if my idea works. :worship: If you haven't told me yet, feel free to jump in as I won't be working on it until around the 17th or so.

As far as the shows, we went on the Magic on our 1st and only cruise and we actually did not see a single show. :scared1: I think a lot had to do with the late seating for food and not wanting to stop whatever we were doing to see the show before dinner. At least that is the reasoning I remember. So this time we will probably see as many as possible. Ryan, you are more than welcome to kick Jessica to the curb and join us that night. :lmao:

This weekend....we are not sure when we will be doing the candy cane business other than using our magic morning to try and get a ticket. The only other thing we have planned is a reservation at Cafe Orleans @ 11:50. If any of you want to join us, let me know and I will up the number of people. See when we went during Halloween, I wanted to try the Gingerbread beignets. By the time we got back there and asked to get them, it was a very long wait as I thought maybe I could just pop in & get some on the run. Silly me:laughing: So I told Jeff that we need to go this trip. I have my priorities, ya know. :cool2: So let me know about that. Otherwise, Jessica, let me know when you have hit the park and same with you Karen. You both have my cell# now. Jessica we are saving the scary rides after Alec goes to Pinnochio's Workshop @ 6pm :scared1: so we won't make you go on Space Mtn until then. :rotfl2: OK, I've caught up. I will get through this weekend and then totally focus on the cruise!
Later my wonderful cruisemates!pirate:

I think we booked in May and I've only seen the suites open up a couple of times since that time. You might want to play bingo on that 2 day cruise; maybe your luck will hold out :)
