Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

Just booked everything ........... yeah!!!!!

Kris:cheer2:

We are all booked too. Ashley is sleeping, hope she doesn't mind her massage is at 8 AM the first morning! Not a lot of options for the massages for her. Had the same issue this year on the 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. One of the Mazatlan Beach excursions wasn't listed. Guess it was either canceled or booked up already.

Is it time to go now? Or at least time to go back to bed.

The list on our little website under the "Characters of Wonder" link is updated. The only one I'm not sure about is DangerMouse, so I put a "no" for them. I believe Steve had emailed everyone who was undecided, so I will email him today to see if DangerMouse was one of them. DangerMouse - if you read this will you please let me know if you're a "yes" or "no" for FE's (sorry, I can't remember!)?

We are in for the FE.

Here is a graphic if anybody wants it. It did say Magic and somebody changed it to Wonder for me.. I forgot to write his name down.

OK, We FINALLY got in! Good Luck Sue! :thumbsup2

FYI, Palo dinners appear wide open. Palo brunches also appear pretty open. High Tea, however, is almost gone. 2 of the three dates are sold out, and the last date probably doesn't have much longer to live. If you want a high tea - get it now!

Side note: if anyone doesn't get what they want, Ryan and I heard that Disney holds some aside for people at the later booking window. You can log on that night and see if anything "magically opens up." We're not 100% on this, but it is logical and we have heard that they do it.

Jessica,

disneyfarmgirl: Sarah, Clint, Ashley, Tanner, Spencer and Brynnlee need to opt out of the FE. Sarah is my sister and she never gets on the boards :confused3 :rotfl:so I thought i better let everyone know before it gets any closer!!

Thank you for letting me know. I had already taken her off a while ago. I don't recall who requested it, but sometime in the last month she was listed as a "no" for FE's. Thanks for keeping me posted though, you're the best! :thumbsup2

LOL, you are too funny! I'm sure she'll love it, even if she is sleeping through it. :rotfl2:

I was not upset just wanting my turn, in case it was read that way. :surfweb:
OK, it is about 11:15 and I am finally done!
We can't decide but signed up anyway for the Whale Watching Photo Safari. Has anyone used Vallarta Adventures or Eco Tours (ecotoursvallarta.com) please let me know. I am struggling with paying DCL prices. We have been on a whale watching trip before (many years ago on our honeymoon in Tahiti) and loved it. We want Alec to experience it now. Such beautiful creatures.
Jeff wants to do one of the beach resorts in Cabo but not sure the $$ is worth it. He figures this will be a nice quiet day on the beach. Anyway...any feedback would be appreciated.
Good night everyone! :hippie:

I couldn't get in right away but it let me in at 9:08. It probably was me who booted you out. I'm surprised it wouldn't let you in for so long considering I was out by 9:15. I only booked the three Palo reservations and got out. I'm glad I didn't take my time browsing the spa treatments and excursions! :sad2:

I'm also surprised it took Sue so long to get in. :confused3

If anyone can't get what they want online, I know Disney does keep some availability for people booking on the ship. We've never had a problem getting brunch and high tea once on the ship. I do recommend getting there as early as possible the day we board. We literally get on the ship as early as they let us and head straight for Palo.

If anyone can't get into or misses High Tea, you are welcome to join us for Tea with Alice (or will it be with Wendy?) in Studio Sea. It's just apple juice and a cookie with the characters. Since you don't like tea Jessica, this may be more to your liking. ;)

We still haven't had a chance to talk about what to do in Mazatlan or CSL. Whatever we do, it probably won't be through Disney. I do like your idea Jessica of a DIS-created beach excursion or maybe shopping or lunch or something. I'll run it by Amy tomorrow.

Good night everyone!

I read info on PV at this site. It listed Eco Tours also.

I think we are just going to roam around on foot to shack off our see legs.

Found this today...aren't you glad you are on our cruise before the price for Palo goes up?

Disney Cruise Line will announce tomorrow that prices for Palo will go up $5 per person starting in January, 2011.

Champagne Brunch - $20 (was $15)
Dinner - $20 (was $15)
High Tea - $10 (was $5)

The price increase is effective on each ship as of the following sailings:

1/26/11 Maiden Voyage of the Disney Dream
1/29/11 voyage of the Disney Magic
1/30/11 voyage of the Disney Wonder

*If* you already had a confirmed online reservation for Palo on or after these effective dates, Disney will honor the original price. New reservations are subject to the increased fee.

Thank you Mousepad!

I guess I just saved $30 by booking/sailing early.

Anyone else seem at a loss? All the planning is done, so all there is to do is wait. Maybe it's time to start planning the next cruise?

I am so antsy to go, I can hardly concentrate the last few days. I have been pulling up a few trip reports from the last time they were on the West Coast to bide my time.

I've even been reading through the 2008 Passporter, which has MR info, but it's not helping. I'm also antsy because we are the first cruise, so we won't have the benefit of knowing the schedules, inboard classes, etc. To make matters worse, DCL is taunting me with busses that have full size Wonder ads on them. Just cruel!

Anyone want to do Alaska in May ;)

Kris

Thanks for posting that Sue. It's good to know we got in before the price increase. That can buy us a few drinks of the day!

I'm with you Kris. Not having a 2011 MR Wonder Navigator in my hand is making it hard for me to want to commit to anything. I wish I had known which night they will be showing the movie as the show so I could have planned Palo that night. Or when the wine tasting, Art of Entertaining series, or things like that would be so they wouldn't interfere with my brunch or spa.

The only thing we actually booked so far was Palo so we are still in planning mode. This is the longest I've gone without knowing what we are going to be doing in ports. Not knowing the weather is a big part of this.

And then there is the FE we need to start buying for! :rolleyes1

So I was trying to figure out a cheaper way to go with the parking situation for us. We are driving down and staying @ DL the night before. I called DVC since we made the reservations through them. They were of no help. their suggestion was to Google parking. Oh well, we will be paying $12 a day, I think is what it is @ the port. But the more interesting information I got but you all may already know but I hadn't heard it officially. I guess the Wonder is going to be permanently on the West Coast with the Magic following. So this means to me that when I need a Disney cruise fix, I won't have to fly to Florida. :woohoo: But then it will be more difficult to talk Jeff into going to the Caribbean, too. pirate: But I am still holding on to the idea that they will eventually cruise to Hawaii and then I will really be :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: !!!
Just thought I would share.
Later,
Sue

BTW, I read a great trip report on PassPorters boards, she is also going to be on our cruise this time!
http://www.passporterboards.com/for...n-mexican-riviera-cruise-june-1-8-2008-a.html
She has lots of pictures and she did the dolphin excursion, the Outdoor Adventure (if I could live with leaving Alec on the ship I would talk Jeff into this one in a heartbeat) and a city tour.
I'm in the process of talking her into hopping over here, so play nice. :rotfl:
Later,
Sue
