Cast of Characters: DH, Me, DD5 and DS 7 months.
Background info: This is our second Disney Cruise. We spent five days at WDW before the cruise.

Day 1 - Sunday July 3

We left Wilderness Lodge in our rental car at 8:30 a.m. After a quick stop at Goodings for Dramamine and baby food, we were on our way. The ride to Port Canaveral was easy - we took 528 the whole way. We got to Port Canaveral at 10:00 a.m. It was too early to park in long-term parking, so we waited in the day parking lot for 15 minutes. Once the DCL parking lot was opened, we showed our ids, paid the $40 and got great parking spots! We unloaded our luggage and were on our way into the terminal.

Security was a breeze and there was no one on the Castaway Club line, so we walked right up and checked in. Then, we got in line for boarding. We were probably 7th in line. I didn't realize that we could have gotten on first because DS' stroller, but we were so close to the front of the line, it didn't matter.

Pluto came into the terminal while were were waiting, but DD didn't see him, so we didn't get off line to take pictures. DS was waiting patiently in his stroller, charming everyone nearby with his two-tooth grin.

We were able to start boarding shortly before noon. We got our pictures taken, were announced and were finally, finally on board the Disney Wonder! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Captain Mickey was not in the atrium - I think he was going downt he other gangplank as we were going up.

Since we were coming from WDW, we were all kind of beat and no one was really hungry. DH has celiac disease and had eaten something with wheat in it the day before, so he wasn't feeling that great. We just went to the promenade lounge and hung out until DH's 1:00 p.m. massage appointment.

When DH went to get his massage, I took DD and DS to the pool. DD had a blast! It was the least crowded of any time at the pool and she loved that she could do all of the Mickey pool on her own, without a life jacket (since it's only 1 1/2 feet deep). She "swam" and tried the slide and was loving life.

While at the pool, I saw someone take the diaper off her child (about 9 months), throw the diaper on the pool deck, then bring the baby into the main part of the pool. I just don't understand people. :confused3 I called DD out of the pool, since it was 1:30 and we went to our cabin.

We had cabin 7060. Right in the middle of the ship. It was very convenient to both the clubs and the pools. In the room was a gift from All Seasons and our Castaway Club bag. Loved them both.

The safe in our room didn't work and maintenance had to be called to get it fixed.

I noticed that there was no crib for DS, but figured it would be brought in later. Also, there was no infant life jacket in the room.

DH came back from his massage at 2:30 and loved it. He felt a lot better and thought Bella did a good job. She also sold him on about $80 worth of products.

While waiting for the drill, I confirmed DD's registration for the Club and tried to find out where to make the appointments for hair braiding, but never did find the appt desk. Other than that, we just hung out in the room until the drill. We did call guest services about the infant jacket, but it didn't get to our room in time for the drill. I didn't have to wear my jacket, since I was carrying DS and the drill was smooth, besides the 3 cabins that just decided not to show up. I wonder what happens to those people.

DH was exhausted from his massage and went to sleep after the drill. I took DD and DS to the sailaway party. It was hot! But, DD had a blast. She was in the center of it all, doing the line dancing and group shouting. When the characters came out on the dance floor, DD got to dance with Chip alone for a good period of time (2-3 minutes). She was in heaven! :cloud9:

We had 5:45 sitting (TAAP) and had to rush after the party to get DH up and get ready for dinner. I really don't like early seating, but figured we'd try it for this cruise. I hated that we had the 15 minutes earlier sitting. It was always a rush to get to dinner. Also, the ship didn't seem set up for that earlier early sitting. Flounders still didn't open until 6:00 and one day pictures with Mickey and Minnie (in their graduate outfits) were only available between 5:45 and 6:15, so we missed them completely.

Anway, we got to Triton's and had Igusti and John as our server and assistant server. We had filled out the medical form for DH and confirmed his food need with DCL before we left. Unfortunately, that information did not make it to our servers. They kept trying to give him bread and breaded items, even after we explained the situation. It was a very frustrating and disappointing meal. When we were on the Magic, we didn't tell anyone about DH's situation ahead of time and everyone stepped up so well. There was special sauces made for him, gluten-free pasta and pancakes every day, and he had a wonderful food time for the first time in his life.

DS was also acting up at dinner, understandably - he'd been awake all day. DH and I took turns holding him while the other ate. The servers were too hurried and busy to notice or help. Not that that's their jobs, but I had read a lot that would would "help", if necessary.

We left dinner early, skipping dessert. We dropped DD at the club and walked around the ship until DS' reservation at Flounders, spending some time on the deck chairs on Deck 4. After a quick check of our post-turndown room, I stopped by Guest Services to complain about the food situation and the fact that we had no crib or life jacket and it was nearly 9:00 p.m.

DH and I spent a little time in Wavebands and picked up the kids at 10:00. By the time we got back to the room, the crib and life jacket were there, as was a message from the restaurant manager saying that everything would be taken care of with DH's food situation.

With the crib, the room seemed very cramped. I was really wishing that I hadn't been talked out of the Category 4 by my agent. The extra room for the remainder of the cruise would have been worth it. Every time we went out the to the verandah, we had to move either the table or the crib. It made it so that I didn't want to spend time in the room, when last cruise, that was my favorite part.

By 10:30, the whole lot of us were passed out, enjoying the calms seas and quiet of our stateroom.

Coming soon: Day 2 - Fourth of July and fireworks!
