Disney Wonder Eastbound Panama Canal - October 2015

Welcome to the newest members of this crew. Those of you who haven't sailed DCL or haven't done a long cruise yet are in for a real treat! You have so many days to actually relax as well as participate in all the fun. No need to to worry about 'wasting' a day if you need some down time...nap, movie, reading..its all good! And the kids on this cruise will be treated like royalty!

We just returned from the WBTA cruise. It was our first cruise:yay::yay::yay:. We had more days at sea than on this cruise. There was so much to do and want to be a part of, we didn't have much down time at all.:dance3::dance3: So anyone worried about being bored, think again.

And just like that, we're booked on our second Disney cruise. Our first was a year and a half ago for my, then, 6 year old's Make-a-Wish because of his fight with leukemia. That was him, his older brother and sister and his mom and (me) dad. This time, if all goes well, he'll be 7 months out of chemotherapy and will also be bringing along his additional 3 sisters, the husband and daughter of one and the boyfriend of the other, his godfather, grandmother and family friend. That'll be a 14 member trip, and it could still grow by another 2-4. We dreamed of this cruise while we were still onboard the Magic. Looking forward to getting to know some of you during what will be an agonizing 13 months. Now that we're officially booked, excited is an understatement.

Antonio...

I'm Orukal's wife and so very excited about the cruise. We had a blast on our four day cruise, but found that we were just getting into the swing of things when the trip was over, so this time we chose a longer cruise and hopefully a better opportunity to get to know all of you.

Last trip we were given our cruising information too late to join the Fish exchange so this time I am already racking my brain to think of what I can make/take to share.

Wendy

Welcome all!

Antonio and Wendy, a cruise is such a great group/family vacation. You can all link for dinner, but everyone has the opportunity to do what interests them during the day.

Hi Jackie,

I so agree that this group is perfect for our family, not only because there are so many choices on what to do (on our last cruise our teenagers spent most of their time at Vibe), but we love that with 15 days we don't have to push to spend time together and no one will be upset that they aren't getting enough attention which I think would be the problem on a shorter cruise.

When we went with Make-a-Wish, it was wonderful, but our three adult daughters couldn't join us (they take siblings under 18), this makes this trip even more exciting because we can show them something new.

Additionally, no one in our family has ever been pampered for more than our first trip, 4-days, so two weeks is going to be a new experience for all of us.

I look forward to getting to know you better,
Wendy

Pam here. Myself and husband and my grandson and his friend Chris will be joining you on this cruise. My husband, Frank and I just did the E/B Panama Canal cruise. This will be our 3rd crossing. We are in rooms 2602 and 2604. Hope to meet everyone next October and to chat here and on facebook. Have a great day. Pam from Sunny San Diego

Please add us to the roll call and the FE list. I and a few other DISers don't FB so, we'll be waiting here for all the good info! Thank you!

Hi, Disneynanny and BellFamilyBelles and welcome. My family and I are excited for even just the 365 day mark to get here. Actually planning on heading out today to specifically get some Fish Extender ideas together.

Disneynanny,
Are you able to scan and post the Navigators from your recent EBPC? We would love to know the themes of each night, ie formal nights, pirate party, etc.
Welcome Aboard!
Thank yo!

We just did the EBPC last month. So the sign up on the Navagator says Chocolate tasting and liquors. Well everone I talked to that did this tasting read it Chocolate and liqueurs. So when we saw the wine glasses and scotch, we were all very surprise. very misleading.

Just booked this cruise while on the Magic last week (really enjoyed the Southern itinerary). Will be me, DH and DS who will be 4 at time of sailing.

Edited to add: I would be interested in organizing a trick or treating time for the kiddos on Halloween. NOT because there will be any lack of candy (based on our experience with Halloween on the High Seas last week) but because there is something fun about the process of trick or treating.

I quit the FB last year (yes, it was tough and no, haven't regretted it at all), so at some point over the next 12 months I'll sign up via the google doc for FE. ;) Edited to add: I would be interested in organizing a trick or treating time for the kiddos on Halloween. Welcome! Our DS will also be 4, so I'm thrilled to see more younger kids joining this trip.

One of the concerns was that the 31st is the day we go through the canal. I suggested doing it on the 30th, someone else suggested after dinner. But this is something we can figure out closer to the cruise.

I read one group who did this assigned times to each floor (15 min increments) so no one was forced to stay at their rooms for an hour, waiting for trick or treaters.
