Hi everyone! My wife Pat and I just reserved this cruise. It will be our 17th lifetime cruise and 3rd Disney cruise (did a WBTA and a WBPC on the Magic). I am a San Diego native so will be happy to jump in with answers to San Diego questions.

Talking the wife into making a FE. Will be interested in FE trick or treating (kids or adults). Working on transportation from ship to Houston Hobby airport for SWA flight home if anyone is interested in sharing a shuttle van or something relatively inexpensive. We LOVE Uber but it doesn't seem to have caught on in Galveston yet.

Just read entire forum and will answer a few recent unanswered questions in future posts.

I m starting to plan for this trip - finally. What is everyone doing for transportation to the airport from Galveston? We will be flying out of Hobby (HOU) and I think Disney only does a shuttle to IAH. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a rental car place close to port? Anyone have any experience with the Galveston cruise port? Thanks!

It is around 71 miles, so, depending on traffic, it's around 1 hour driving time but I would figure 1.25 to 1.5 hours to be safe. Seems like that stretch of highway always has some construction going on or TMC.....(Too Many Cars)

Thanks! I'm doing all of the planning as though DH and I will go on this cruise, waiting to see if he can get that much vacation time from work to actually book it. We fly SW, so I've now booked our flights with points (which just get returned to the pot without penalty if we cancel). It's an administrative blip that Disney doesn't provide shuttle service to HH, but it's an easy problem to solve. Thanks again!

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around. Life is busy, I don't really have time to think about the cruise until August. But I am trying to finalize the FE lists. I'm beginning to send out emails to confirm if people are still going on the cruise and interested in the FE.
