I checked the room reports in the above links, but there just isn't much info. Are they really THAT bad? We have to have 2 rooms because our family is 6 people. So, we booked the cheapest rooms available. Am I going to regret this? On our last cruise, we had a balcony room because some friends went with us and we put a kid in their room. This time around, it's just our family cruising. Our rooms are not connected, but only 2 rooms apart. We have the older teens in one room and then us with the little one. Should I save the $ and book a bigger/better room? Your opinion?

I'm interested in what people say. With six you have no choice but to get two cabins. We have 8 and went for two deluxe inside cabins with split baths. Just found out yesterday we actually have cabins with obstructed portholes. It was only slightly more than lowest priced rooms back when we booked

I personally love the inside rooms. I always book an 11b just because I like being further up and pick a cabin on deck 6. 11c's are on deck 2 and I know plenty of people that prefer to be on deck 2.

I like the inside room as it's nice and dark when I want to sleep (including daytime naps) and I can go up on Deck 4 or Deck 9/10 if I want to sit out in the air/sun.

As long as I'm paying, I prefer to use my money for extras and not for the room.

The other added benefit currently for the Wonder is that the queen bed can still be split (this was not made available on the Dream/Fantasy with the new beds and will be the same on the Magic after the drydock). That means you can ask the room host to split the queen beds into two individual beds plus then make up the couch to the third bed which will enable your three teens (or at least two of them) to not have to sleep together. But this function will be available in any of the cabins.

A lot of people like inside staterooms. We had an inside stateroom once when our 2 DDs were younger, never again we felt to enclosed & the absence of natural light was a real turn off for me. Since then we've booked Ocean view or verandah staterooms. Now that the girls are older we book connecting Ocean view staterooms. But that's just how we do it. :confused3

DH and I stayed in a cat 12 the current 11c back in 2007 on the Magic. The room was fine. Great location for us, since we hung out at the adult clubs! We had no issue with the room at all.

Our only problem was the kids and parents that walked the halls not caring that it was early and others might still be sleeping!

We have also stayed in SPH rooms, veranda and The Roy...so we have been happy in all of them!

I had an inside 11C on deck 2 on the Fantasy and it was great. Very quiet and comfortable. Of course the new ships have the virtual porthole, which may change the experience a little in terms of seeing what's going on outside.

My concern about the 11C inside rooms on deck 2 on the Magic and the Wonder is that they are located underneath the adult club area, and I don't know how much noise there would be at night.

Not having been in an 11C on the Magic (I had a 9B on deck 2) it's just speculation on my part about potential noise...but I have to say I would look at an 11B on the Magic or Wonder if I were booking, to avoid the worry about what's above.

I've stayed in category 11, inside staterooms three times. First time with my dd18 and dd9, next two times with dd11. Enjoyed all 3 cruises. We don't spend time in the room. It is a place to sleep and get ready for dinner, and as a previous poster mentioned, I'd rather have the extra money for excursions, souvenirs, or such. I never found them to be a problem at all. We'll be back on the Wonder out of Galveston in December and be back in an inside stateroom.

What JoiseyMom failed to mention is that ALL of the Cat 12's were occupied by DIS'ers on that cruise!

I love those rooms, and have one booked for my Alaska cruise next June. The location is great, it's usually very quiet, and I like the nice dark rooms. Of course, they aren't quite as nice as the Roy Disney Suite:rotfl2:!

We stayed in 5127 on the Wonder in Feb. Great location for all our likes!

The three of us DGram, DGPa, & DGrandson 6 yr old. . .

We had a 9c twice which across the hall from many cat. 11. The first time we were on starboard, and there was noise from the club above on a few nights but didn't last too along. It was much quieter on port side. I do worry about what is above my stateroom as I am a light sleeper. As far as an inside goes, I'd rather be in an inside stateroom on any cruise than at home wishing I was on a cruise!

I feel better. We dilly dallied in upgrading to a verandah & they were gone. I like an afternoon nap, so dark is good. I'll have more money to spend shopping!! I will, though, miss the split bath.

:thumbsup2

Yup, the Roy was a tad bigger then the cat 12! :goodvibes

We have stayed in inside rooms many times and it has been fine. We did not have a problem with the small bath, However we all showered at different times. I must admit that the time we booked an 11 and a verandah the 11 looked dark and small. But when we do not have the verandah to compare it to, The inside is great. We love saving the money.
