Yeah!!!! We broke the 90 day period! Anyone else burn the midnight oil last night to get their top picks for excursions and dining? Soooooo pleased that we got all our picks =)

We're doing the Klondike Family Challenge in Skagway, personal touring and Mt. Roberts Tramway in Juneau, and of course the Lumberjack Show in Ketchikan (and hopefully the totem park a la carte if we have time). What are your favourites?

Also totally stoked to do my first Palo Brunch! Date day with the hubby!

We already booked our Skagway excursion with Chilkoot Charters--Yukon Rail and Bus with dogcart ride (bus up, train back). Juneau, we'll probably do one of the Glacier Express buses to Mendenhall Glacier. Ketchican...if it's still left by then...we'd like to do the Saxman Native Village and Lumberjack Show through DCL.

It's our second cruise with DCL, so it was nice to have the Silver Castaway Status giving us those few extra days early to book some of our tours. Don't worry - I'm positive there will be availability for tours you are looking for when you book shortly (I was more worried about not getting the Palo rezzie...LOL). I hear Chilkoot Charters is AMAZING, so I'm sure that external tour will be wonderful.

Just a tip - for the Lumberjack Show - it's cheaper to book it directly on their website (which is what we did), then through DCL. Even if you are going to the "Disney exclusive" show (which is at 3:30). We chose the 1:30 though, as it's a few dollars cheaper, and freed up more of our day for local touring =)

I'm not going to let it ruin our trip though!!! We're doing the Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer (TC01), White Pass Scenic Railway Featuring Exclusive Youth Activity (SW10) in Skagway, Deluxe Tour of Juneau (JU09), Misty Fjords and Wilderness Explorer (KE19) in Ketchikan, and plan to do the Northwest Exploration & Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver when we disembark.

Thanks! The Saxman native village and Lumberjack show is 1 port adventure. I didn't see the Saxman native village listed separately, otherwise I'd book the lumberjack show on our own...especially as we have a 12 yr old that is a child outside of Disney! We're not bothering with Palo, so no worries about not getting it.

We stayed up late, but we had already booked all our excursions third party. It's funny because I never thought I would, but the timing, money and age limitations for one thing we wanted just worked out that way. In Skagway, we're also doing the bus up/train back Yukon with Chilkoot. We've added the dog cart option for that one as well. In Juneau we have a private whale watching trip booked with another family (hi Heather!) and we're also renting a car to check out the glacier as well. In Ketchikan we booked with Southeast Sea Kayaks for a short kayaking trip. I would have booked that one through DCL, except that they won't allow children under 10 (and DD will be 8).

Last night we checked in, chose a PAT (11 AM) and booked Palo for the last night (6 PM).

We considered booking the Tracy Arm Fjord excursion, but decided that, at $550 for our family of 3, we'd rather save the money for a future vacation.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely keep checking back! It seems like a lot of people have had luck with 3rd party vendors too. I might check that out as well. I'm just afraid that we'd get lost and the ship will leave without us

If you have your heart set on dog sledding it's worth trying to book with a tour company directly. This site and Trip Advisor may have good reviews to check.

The glass blowing isn't offered by DCL but a friend who did it through another cruise line highly recommended it. Her kids were 7 and 9 at the time.
