Happy Holidays Everyone.
We will be staying at POFQ for a week starting jan 5th. I will be flying in and since im 24 I am unable to rent a car. I would like to travel off the disney property somewhat. When I was younger my parents would take me to places such as old town and the giant orange store( trying to remember what that was, i was pretty young then). Anyways I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for offsite travel. I was wondering if i should just try my corporate credit card and try and rent a car saying it was business related or just stick with taxis... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help... Happy Holidays :earboy2: in

You might be able to rent a car. Check around, granted you probably will pay more, but it might be better than taking taxi's everywhere

Look for rental discount codes on www.mousesavers.com or try Priceline, which deals with all onsite agencies and also Hertz (off-site, but the shuttle is painless). It will most likely be cheaper than a cab.
The "orange store" is still there. I think it's a souvenir shop, and there is an indoor flea market behind it. If you visit Old Town, you may want to stop by Celebration. It's a very cool place to spend some time...shops and restaurants, plus it "snows" every night till New Years.

flyertalk.com has some ideas about what to do if you are a under 25 renter.

go to http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3531152#post3531152 for some thoughts....

Here is a post by one poster...As a "young renter," I have been renting using several universities' contract ID. I have rented about 25 times during the last 2 years (I'm Executive Status in the Emerald Club). Even though I don't work for any of these universities, I have never been challenged for the use of the contract ID. The advantage of using these contract IDs, is that there is no "young renter fee." That saves you $10-25 a day. The reservation screen will tell you that the Loss Damage Waiver is included, however you will not be covered unless you belong to the university. So you will need to make sure that you're insured. You can either get a third party policy through Travel Guard ($7) a day, or check if you have coverage through your insurance policy.
The contract IDs I have found work best are 5001514 and 5002341.

I am not sure I would want to try this, but it is up to you.

Have fun.

Oops, I didn't notice the "under 24" before replying. I noticed when I book on Priceline, they have a box to check if you are under 25. I don't know if that would stop the rental process or just limit your bid to certain companies.

I would just like to thank all of you for your help. This is the best website I have found for the best vacation spot in the world. Thank you again everyone for your help and happy holidays

When I was "under" age, we rented from Payless. It is off-site as far as the airport terminal, but their underage fee was minimal, and they usually have great rates. We would have booked with them again for our next trip if it wasn't for a Budget coupon we got. Ok, I just checked and thier underage fee is $13.95 a day. So I checked the rates and with the underage fee it would be around $250 for a standard car for a week. It is a little high, but for being underage its not too bad.

P.S. National charges $25 a day, Hertz doesn't allow you to rent with them at all!!

Getting around without a car is no problem. If you want to go to Old Town or the Big Orange, go to the TTC (MK) and catch the #56 Lynx (public transit) bus. It will take you to both of these places , also Walmart, Publix, Osceola Mall, the flea market (across from Walmart), and Walgreens as well as other places. Or, if you want to go to Beltz Factory Outlet, or International Drive, catch the #50 bus, and transfer to the #8 bus at Sea World. It is $1.25, transfers are free.
