Disney with an infant

I was just wondering if anyone has traveled with a very small infant. Of course, I got pregnant the year we got AP's. We already took a trip with them in July and have one planned in November. My baby is due April 28th. I was hoping to get in a few days at Disney at the end of June and then take the baby to visit family in Key Largo. He/she would be 2 months old. Is this totally insane? I brought my son at 10 months and it was wonderful, but there is a world of difference there.

I went with a 6 month old in February. He did great, we even took the Family Magic Tour. Make friends with the Baby Centers early.

Our Ds was born in October and made his first trip the following January. He was only 3 months old. We had an awesome time. That was the year my mom went with me and the 3 kids, and hubby flew down mid week. It worked out really well. It was my moms first trip there, so if the baby was sleeping, or it was something he couldnt go on, she went with my DD's on the ride. I really took advantage of the baby centers. They are outstanding and always nice and cool ( it was really hot that January!) The nursing rooms were dark and had rockers, and you can use the kitchen, changing room, restrooms, and they sell supplies too. I took DS on everything that didnt have a height restriction. He rode Buzz, Haunted Mansion, Kilimanjaro Safari, Maelstrom, and pretty much everything in MK. He slept well and often in his stroller and we never had to go back to the room. As long as you have someone to handle the stroller on the buses, you will have a great trip! You dont even need to bring a playpen because Disney resorts give you a pack and play at no cost. I think you will have an amazing time!

We took our son when he was 7 weeks old. He was great. he slept most of the time. We brought a stroller from home and a front carrier. We used the carrier to take him on all the attractions without height restrictions. We did every show and the noise did not bother him at all.

can I piggyback this thread with a quick question... doesn't a babay have to be 3 months before it van get on an airplane? or am I worng? I am not even sure where i heard this....?

I personally have never heard that before. I know when I booked the trip the baby was just a few weeks old. When I made reservations and said I had an infant, I was never asked how old he was. Also, I was never asked his age by any of the flight attendants or anyone working the check in desk or taking our tickets to board the plane. I will be interested in hearing if thats true or not though.

Nope. We had to go to a funeral when my baby was a month old.

Having said that, an airplane isn't exactly the most hospitable place for a newborn, germ-wise. I would have preferred to have waited at least six weeks, but, well, funerals are never convenient.

We took our DD when she was 4 months old and she did great. In October we are taking our twins DS & DD that will be 2 1/2 months old. I'll let you know how that goes. We are going with the attitude of "Hey, we are going to Disney let's have fun!!!"

I know that you cannot cruise with an infant until they are 12 weeks. Maybe that is what you are thinking of?

We went late July with my then 3 month old daughter. No problems. She slept most of the time. The biggest challenge was trying to keep her cool. Take advantage of the baby swap pass. Combined with fast pass, it worked well and DS (4) was able to ride two times.

So now I'm wondering what the youngest baby anyone has taken? We took a 5 week old at the end of July and he did great. We were not planning on going to WDW until this Labor Day but we had some guest from Japan and they wanted to visit. Since we had AP's we went!

well, I am happy to hear that a baby can fly before 3 months.
I knew about the cruise lines and a baby having to be 12 weeks, I dont know who told me that about flying,
but hey, I am glad it isnt true.
