Disney With 3 boys update: last day and final thoughts

The enema up the butt was funny...I thought I was the only one since I've never heard of it happening to anyone else. I almost didn't make it to the bathroom. My husband laughed so hard, I thought he was going to need a bathroom himself. I will never go on it again because of that.

Yep.... It happened to him too. I wonder how many other people it has affected in that way. I'll pass on that one for right now. Thanks for reading.

I really enjoyed reading your report! On our last trip my sons were 3 and 5. They are now 5 and 7 and we're going back in May. I loved hearing what your sons liked! I'm hoping we can ride almost everything this time!

We've never seen the Power Rangers before. That sounds like fun! I'm sure my sons will love meeting them.

I'm glad to hear that you all liked BTMRR. It was closed on our last visit, so I can't wait to ride it! :sunny:

Thanks for sharing! :wave2:

fantastic report and I loved every moment of it.......thanks for taking the time to write it for us to enjoy.....I have less then 40 days till our vacation....you made me very very anxious....
I remember when our grandson was thrilled with the Ninja turtles......almost as big hype as the Power rangers...
Thanks again

Cast: Me- Disney fanatic. Haven't been in ten years. Slighty obsessive, compulsive planner :rotfl2: Hoping this will come in handy.
dh- Never been to Disney. Hoping to turn him into a fanatic also! He calls this a "trip" not a vacation. He thinks it'll be fun, but not relaxing!
ds (6) Turning 7 while we're here. Hoping for a magical b'day. He's happy to be getting out of school for a week!
ds (4) LOVES Buzz Lightyear. We will be on a mission to find him.
ds (18 mos.) Along for the ride. Most worried about him, hope he'll cooperate and sleep well!

Where: 6 nights @ AKL in a Savana view room on Zebra trail.

Day 7: Packing up, checking out, and last day at MK

It's hard to believe at this point that it's really coming to an end. It just flew by. With any other vacation I have always been ready to get home and sleep in my own bed. Not this time.... I really feel that we could use "just one more day." It is not to be, it is really time to head home. We are up early and get packed up pretty fast. I head to the gift shop to pick up a few last minute souveniers for friends. Dh pulls up the car. We did the express check out, but something is wrong on our receipt. They charged us for valet parking, but we didn't have that. We get the car packed up and dh settles everything at the check out desk. I take a few more pics of AKL and we say our goodbyes to what was our home for the past 6 nights. We're on our way to the MK. This is the first time driving ourselves to the parks. What a pain. I think it is worth staying on property just for that reason! We park fairly close and ride the tram in. We catch a ferry from there over the MK. We take a walk down mainstreet and got our family picture taken in front of the castle. Our pics all turned out better than the photo pass ones. I was really hoping for a good one of all of us, but somebody's big head is in all of them. Oh well. The boys want to ride BTMR, so we grab fastpasses and eat at Peco's Bills. This was great! Dh loved the fixin's bar. We eat a quick lunch and head over to BTMR and use our fastpasses. We utilize the childswap so we both can ride again. Dh takes the camcorder on with him and got some great footage. We walk by SM hoping for some chance that it's open, but it's not. There's always next time. We head over to Adventure land and ride POTC and carpets of Alladdin. Dh takes the boys to check out Swiss family robinson treehouse. We decide to head over to Toontown. We wanted to ride The Barnstormer, but the wait was too long. We had already stayed longer than we should. We had pics taken with every princess except Cinderella. We get in line and get pics take with her and prince charming, sleeping beauty, Belle and snow white again. We walk back through the castle and stop to redeem our leftover snack credits. We end up just getting some sodas and water. We also have 2 CS credits left, so even though we're not hungry we get some hot dogs and corn dogs from Casey's. we stop at a few shops down mainstreet. Watch the trolley, take a few more pics and say goodbye to Mickey. I actually have a picture of my ds4 latching hold of a lightpost and not letting go! We didn't want to leave. After a stop at the restrooms, we catch the monorail back and are in our car withing minutes. We were the first stop on the tram. It was a pretty uneventful ride home. We drove straight through besides bathroom breaks, gad and once for dinner. We got home abut 2am. We were tired, but at least the kids slept a lot of the way.

Final Thoughts:
AKL: Everyone should stay here at least once. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience. That said, we'll probably try somewhere else next time. If we can swing it, I'd pay the extra to be on the monorail line. If not, I'd like to try the WL. Either way I think I'd like to be closer to the MK. I don't have anything bad to say about AKL. It was beautiful and nothing can compare to waking uo to Zabras and giraffes out your window.

DIning Plan: We will definitely do this agin. It was so worth it. It easily cost us over $100 for each TS meal and about $40 for the CS meals. We like to sit down as a family and eat a nice meal once a day. It helped us rest up and be on the go again. They were also very good about giving the baby his own cup with a straw with either molk or juice in it and we were never charged. We were allowed to try appetizers and desserts which we normally never would have. It also freed us up to buy drinks and Mickey bars for the kiddos. Those don't come cheap. What we would do different? Not eat at so many buffets or charcter meals. They were great and all, but we had 3 and that was too many. Ialso wouldn't push to eat at a TS meal the first night in the parks. We couldn't wait to get out there and ended up rushing through the meal. I think the pure sticker shock was worth it for dh. Knowing it was already paid for made it easy. If he had a bill for $100 every meal we would have probably been making a trip to the first aid station. LOL.

What we missed: we missed so much. I went into this trip knowing that we couldn't possibly do everything. I was greatful for that because we just took our time and didn't "dumbo or die." We took time to enjoy the resort, so I felt we got our moneys worth, and we pretty much ran on the boys scedule. Next time hopefully we can do a bit more because they'll be a little older. Here is my list of things I want to put high on the list for next time.
Splash Mtn: It was closed
Buzz Lightyear: It was closed
TTA: Just didn't get to it
Jungle Cruise: Line was too long on out last day
Barnstormer: Same
TT: Closed
Mission Space: Maybe I'll get up the nerve!
Ellen's energy adventure: Spent too much time in the WS
Living Seas and turtle talk: Just didn't make it
Rafiki's planet watch: Just didn't get to it
Downtown Disney: I thought for sure we'd make it here on evening, but we just didn't.

It's amazing to me how short a week seems when you're at the world. I really felt like we could have stayed a few more days! It lived up to every expectation I had before the trip. I am happy to say my dh is now as big a disney fanatic as I am. We're already planning our next trip. The boys had a great time and still talk about it. we have a home video of Fantasmic and ds 1 wants to watch it all the time. I still can't believe how he wasn't afraid of anything, even fireworks! It truly is the most magical place on earth and I have the memories to prove it! The end.

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed your report. There's always stuff left over to do on the "next trip" -- I think that's how Disney hooks us in for life!

Thanks for reading. I hope you will have as much fun with your boys as we did. Have a great trip. :goodvibes

Glad you finished. What a great idea to get a babysitter, so you could spend some time with just your husband. I wonder how many other people do that, you are the first one I ever heard did that. Hmm, learn something new all the time.
