I want to first say Congratulations to all who will be able to sail on the Wish next year. I just go off the DCL website and the artist rendering look unbelievable!
I looked at the deck plans and was trying to figure out if the unnamed space on deck 11 will be the everyday dining, like a Cabanas. Does anyone know the name of this space and if it will be different from other ships? I am wondering with the continue COVID pandemic, would the space not be a buffet? Or not for 2022?

And wow, so many Concierge rooms and suites. What a beautiful ship. I can’t wait to see video and photos of the pool and water areas.

Maybe for me in 2023 or 2024. I am so glad I got that last cruise in in January 2021. 😎👍🏻

The area where it should be has no name. I guess we will all find out soon.

A cast member I spoke to on the phone mentioned during conversation that he didn't think there would be buffet style cafeterias any more, but I wonder if they will exist but will never be self-serve again?

Between covid and norovirus I think the days of self-serve buffet are gone either forever or for a very long time.

I think the Disney Wish will be quite telling for the future. Does it have a casual restaurant (ie a "Cabanas") and if so is it self-serve-style (which of course also allows to be temporarily switched to served-by-crew when sanitation requirements require it, such as during a gastro outbreak) or is it designed to ONLY be served-by-crew-style with no ability to be self-serve style ?

I think there will be buffets, but you will be served by a crew member

Yes there will be a cabanas or someplace similar on the wish. There's no way you could feed that many people during the breakfast and lunch crowds without a large buffet or cafeteria style restaurant.

There's no doubt in my mind that these style restaurants will be cafeteria style with people serving you as opposed to self-service buffet for quite a while if not permanently.

I would envision it to probably be more a food court style (as others have said served cafeteria style) much like Virgin Voyages are presenting with thier "The Galley" concept - which make out theybhave done away with the buffet.

It's a bit you say potato..... rather than a buffet line it's food counters serving various foods. Perhaps we could actually get some better quality quick service items out of this?!

I’d be fine with a mobile order type deal where you either pick up at stations or, better yet, enter a table number and it is brought to you.

On the NCL Bliss, it’s is essentially like a large food court. Many different stations, some fixed (like the burgers and pizza) and some rotating throughout the voyage (regional food). It was self-serve when we went last, but I can see them shifting to a scenario where they plate the food for you. It wouldn’t necessarily be a lot more staff, as they already had people behind each counter.
