I was recently watching a video of the Disney Wish and I wondered how long does it take from the time boarding starts to when the ship starts to leave the port at the start of a cruise? Just curious, thanks.

Most of the people are on well before sail away. It's just a steady trickle after about 2PM. All aboard is normally 4PM. If you ain't on by then, you got issues

Beware~ we received an email our all aboard time changed from 4pm to 3pm. They did not give a reason. 1-Nov-24 sailing

Think most folks are probably aboard within a few hours of boarding. They do pause occasionally to do a fun little boarding show, so don't immediately wander away from the Atruim if you want to see it.

After that, I suggest heading up top and hitting the Aquamouse, since the line will be pretty short!

They will end boarding before they do the muster drill. Then they will do a sailaway party and then will leave after that so there is usually at least 1-1.5 hours after final boarding before they leave port. They used to have all aboard at 3:45 pm but they've moved that to earlier so I don't know if there will now be more time between all aboard and leaving or if they will be leaving earlier.

It takes less time to board everyone than you'd think. Most people board within an hour or two of the start of boarding and then trickle in until all aboard is called.

FYI, over on social media reports are that the Wish started sailing away during the muster drill (instead of during the sail away party). Not sure if that was a fluke or due to the new, earlier all aboard time.

I also got that letter and will be leaving in another week or so. I can confirm this is a fact.

Pulling out during muster would not be ideal for us, but it is what it is. Every cruise out of Port Canaveral we’ve taken pictures of my husband‘s condo as we’re leaving the port. My daughter does the same pose as she did when she was 11 with his condo/time share in the background.
