Disney wins hands down!

Just got off a RCCL today and the whole time I compared to our last DC. Let me start out by saying we had a good time and the staff on the Monarch was fabulous, they were the best part.

Disney takes much more care with their ships and pride in them it seems. I realize the Monarch is older but there were things they could have done to make it nicer. I only went into the public restrooms twice and walked out because they were just gross, never happened with Disney. Also there were several areas that just down right smelled.

My son did enjoy the rock climbing wall but other than that there really wasn't much to do on the ship. My son didn't like the kids area on this ship either. RCCL needs to look into activities for all ages during the day.

For those excited about the west coast that is where we went and I am ready for the caribbean. Even though we had great dinner times the other food was not good. Food on Disney was much better.

My DH doesn't want to travel RCCL again and looks forward to out DC next year.

Info such as this is very helpful to many (DH and I included) who are planning to cruise w/another line just to 'try different ports.'

How old is your son? (Our DD is 9, and we might do Carnival on spring break next year.)

i went on royal carribbean twice..and loved it..but then again, i havent gone on anything else

My brother just returned from a Carnival cruise and he said never again. He described it as a party boat. He is a smoker and said that he was shocked to see so many not honoring the designated smoking areas. He even brought it to the attention of the staff, who did nothing to correct the situation. His other complaint was the number of unsupervised children in the adult only areas. The pro's to his trip were that he thought Carnival handled embarking and disembarking very well and that his outside stateroom was very large.
