Disney while Pregnant & Fun Things to Do?

Sit down as often as you want/need, get some fun snacks, bring a ton of water!!! Stay cool! And just enjoy. Ride what you can and then just enjoy the ambiance. Plan for a pool day. Take tons of pics!!
Yes, I'm definitely not going to aim for everything. I'm mostly looking forward to just being there and enjoying the atmosphere. :-)

Congratulations! Get a celebration button for your pregnancy--it can make for some fun photos throughout the parks or even with the characters, especially Mickey!
Thank you! Great idea! Love those celebration buttons, haha.

There are special photography packages, I think it’s like a private photographer for an hour or so? Might be fun maternity photos.

I’ve done Disney 2x pregnant. Wear super comfortable shoes and clothes, drink more water than you think you need. Otherwise, have fun! 23 weeks is super do-able.
Thank you! My go to shoe is Teva flip flops, but I purchased a new pair that has straps around the back for extra support plus will bring sneakers. I'll probably do Garden Grocer too and order lots of water to have on hand.

I'm sorta local, too, and went often throughout my pregnancy. We walked all of Epcot 4 days before my induction, actually!

It really will depend on how you feel. I had no issues walking long distances in the summer heat but my thirst was off the charts. And when I needed water, I needed it RIGHT THEN. I remember bursting into tears while in line for free ice water at Electric Umbrella  DH learned real fast that when my water bottle went dry, filling it was top priority. I was also highly emotional and after a big ugly cry during Voices of Liberty, had to change what shows and rides we did - ha! There are so many pregnancy safe rides that I didn't feel like I was missing out on much.

I loved taking character photos throughout the pregnancy. Especially now that DS is meeting them! Even if you aren't feeling photogenic, I'd encourage you to stop for them.
Thank you! Thankfully it's been an easy pregnancy so far and I try to walk most days, so hoping walking won't be an issue. A little fearful of the heat, but hey, it's FL. I definitely foresee lots of ugly crying, hahaha. I'm loving the character photo idea so will try to map out a few we'd like to get photos with. Good idea!

I’ve been to WDW three times while pregnant. Once was first trimester, the other two were around 26 weeks or so. I had no issues on any of those trips, and a couple of them I was lugging around a nearly two year old. I was my usual self plus a few extra bathroom breaks. Fast forward 5 years later and I was pregnant again. I didn’t go to Disney during this (my most recent and final) pregnancy. I wouldn’t have been able to. Sciatic pain made it really hard for me to walk starting in the 2nd trimester. I got light headed SO easily anytime I was on my feet, even to wait in line at the grocery store or another local store. That started around 15 weeks. I never could have handled lines at Disney in the heat. I actually ended up delivering that baby early due to some blood pressure issues. Every pregnancy is different. Be prepared for anything and everything. Chances are in the 2nd trimester you’ll be fine, but be prepared for the possibility you are really physically limited and may need to plan accordingly.
I'm so sorry! What a rough time it sounds like you had with your most recent pregnancy. I'm definitely approaching it with the mindset of go with the flow and listen to my body. Pregnancy has been easy so far, barring a random hive outbreak 2x (I'll spare you the gruesome details), so hoping I can keep it together for the next few weeks for at least WDW.

It will be very HOT.
Keep a drink in your hands or close by.
Look for benches . You can circle back if you need to rest.
I'm afraid of the heat, lol, but going to familiarize myself with the map and where I can escape in shade at a bench. :-)

We went 4x this past year while I was pregnant! I am def a park commando so the fact that I couldn’t do half the things I wanted/normally do like roller coasters and Epcot beers forced me to find other ways to have fun. Here’s what I liked:

-Using it as an excuse to snack as much as possible. At one point I was eating a hot fudge sundae from Storybook Treats on my way to Auntie Gravity’s for a brownie sundae
-Getting a prenatal massage at the Grand Floridian
-Having time for the kiddie rides and shows that I normally skip in favor of the headliners (Carousel of Progress, the Vacation Fun short in HS)
-Disagree on AK being miserable, it IS hot and limited in terms of attractions but I enjoyed watching the animals
-Resort hopping - not something I’d ever done before but again, snacks.
Haha, I'll definitely milk being able to snack on whatever I want! We eat pretty healthy at home but will probably throw caution to the wind for the week and use it as opportunity to try new things we haven't before. We'll be at tail end of F&G Festival too!

We're booked at Mandara Spa! My first time doing a massage at WDW.

I'm actually really looking forward to the "kiddie" rides. DH is bummed we won't be doing coasters and thinks it'll be a waste of a trip since "there's nothing to do" but I'm looking at it as a chance to do things we normally wouldn't.

Good idea on resort hopping!!

I second eating. Whether you’re craving sugar or some super specific snack, odds are you can find it there.

Also just walking around having The Feels about things. I was a cryer for the first time in my life while pregnant. Watching Happily Ever After while all kinds of hormonal gave me all the feels.
Ugh I miss HEA! Enchanted is good, but not great. Maybe my emotional pregnant self will feel differently about it, lolol.

My husband made me go by myself bc of how I completely lost it crying the first time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Too funny! :rotfl2:

Husbands, ha ha! I think the HEA lyrics were especially touching for moms-to-be... although to be fair the Country Bears probably would have made me cry at that point in my life too! 😂
:rotfl2:I'll have to report back on all the wacky things that'll likely make me cry and shouldn't, lol.

My husband and I watched HEA from the Poly the day we took our pregnancy announcement photos in front of the castle. We had been trying for five years to get pregnant. I was a mess. :rotfl2:
What a beautiful memory though!! I feel like I need to make the Poly beach a stop somewhere during the week. We stayed at the Poly during our engagement trip and just loved it. Might be nice to revisit for a snack, relax on the beach and get some photos.

I did the fertility treatment roller coaster before finally having my son and yeah, just a hot friggin' mess at HEA!! I always meant to order some manner of nursery decoration with the line "A new adventure there in your eyes" from Etsy but it got lost in the rush to secure all the more practical baby necessities. I still tear up at the song though!

It's even sadder knowing he'll never see it. :(

Congratulations! I went last year all throughout my pregnancy - including last July when I was around 19 weeks. That trip was actually the easiest one I did! I also went at around 12 weeks, 32 weeks, and 36 weeks.

If you don't have memory maker, I would suggest getting it. The photo pass photographers had some super fun shots for us when they realized I was pregnant. I also had some pregnancy specific shirts I got off of Etsy that were cute and I got a lot of compliments (my favorite and the one I got the most comments on was "I'm building a snowman" with Olaf on my belly - extra fitting for me because I had a December baby).

I don't really have much other advice other than what others have said. Stay hydrated, take that mid-day break, eat ALL the snacks, and enjoy all the air conditioned shows. You'll find there's a lot more rides you can do than what you think.

I should clarify that DH still did the big rides - I would typically wait in line with him and then just wait for him at the exit (bc rides are short) OR go do my own thing like ride an attraction he wasn’t into (Peoplemover over and over, the Carousel 😂😂) so we both got to do what we wanted and had a really good time!

True. 🙁 It will live on on YouTube I guess, although it’s of course not the same.

To the OP - the more I think about it, definitely do a nighttime show if there are any that you like! (Haven’t seen the new MK one but have heard mixed things.) Music is so powerful in making memories and while I loved the rides, the fireworks show is what really brings back a cascade of memories of that time! All the hope and anticipation and “I can’t believe I’m really going to be a mom!” memories, mixed with Disney vacation memories!

Etsy is so good for nursery stuff! I'm thinking a Finding Neverland theme...but am so overwhelmed I haven't started my search for Disney nods in earnest yet.

So true. I'm looking forward to when he's old enough to take to WDW and share new memories through his first experiences. :-)

That Olaf shirt sounds adorable! It's been hard to resist buying all the cute Disney baby attire, haha. I really am looking forward to just being there and enjoying the atmosphere. I don't need rides, haha. Definitely lots of snacks and soaking it all in. I'll look into Memory Maker.

DH is allowed all the rides except Guardians of the Galaxy. I've made him promise to wait for me when we can ride together in the future. I think that's fair, lol.

I was hoping Fantasmic! would be back, but doesn't look like it. It's one of my favorite shows. I'll definitely want to see Harmonious again since on our last trip we did the Spice Road Table Dining Package and the view wasn't great. I think in the evenings, if we go to the park, it'll just be for a show and to stroll, but not attempt anything crazy like waiting for rides.

All good advice here. One special thing we did with each pregnancy was to pick out a special stuffed animal for the baby. I did a lot of enjoying ambiance, food, and shows. Loved both pregnancy trips.

I really loved reading some inspirational books in pregnancy which is really helpful in growing baby's brain also.

I did WDW pregnant twice. With my oldest we did a picture in front of the class holding his ultrasound photo. The regular disney photo pass photographer was happy to help set things up.

With my middle child we did a 1st trip to disney button on my belly with the castle behind. Both made for great announcement photos. (Our poor forgotten third child is the only one without a disney pregnancy photo lol).

Otherwise, take it easy, take breaks and enjoy the trip :)
