Disney website - someone should be fired

I'm printing off copies of all my ADR and reservation confirmations now. We leave on Sunday for our trip. I just discovered the website chaos last night and was panicked when it wouldn't link or find my reservation.:badpc:

Just praying that the reservations are really still there, just the front-end system is having a hard time. But I'll have my paperwork I guess...hope it's enough.
What a mess! not something I'd expect from a company of Disney's caliber and reputation!

It is very unlikely I will be able to get my "Mickey Mail" in time. .

Ok I'm way out of the loop.. what is Mickey Mail?? Whatever it is I didn't get one.. Maybe I don't need one.. Is this for kids? If it's for Kids I want one. LOL

RE: MattsDragon

Yeah.. I use caps, exclamations points and while I didn't use the word Buggered, I did indicate that their website had forced me to use some very very VERY un-Disney like language as I was trying and failing to plan my trip.

LOL! Just the envelope you get at about 45 days out with the reservation details. Not as exciting as it sounds:rotfl:

I also, just sent my email that will go nowhere and be read by nobody:rotfl2:
It made me feel better though. Especially this line..

"Having a travel destination as outstanding and world renowned as Disney World use that website as it's point of first contact is like me hiring Martha Stewart to plan the worlds most fabulous dinner party and then letting my crazy Aunt Mabel answer the door and scream at everyone to go home."

Did you tell them you're buggered? I used exclamation marks AND caps.

Now we're going to see some action.
Thank you! :goodvibes

I emailed, but I didn't tell them I was buggered. I used some caps, but no exclamation marks. ;)

I never could get a single ADR to show up on the old site. I wouldn't link them. But I had my resort reservation. Now, I managed to get the ADR's to show up and to actually stay. But as of a few minutes ago, it still won't show my resort reservation.

That's awesome!!! :rotfl2:

Caps and Explanation points are a handy tool to be sure, but perhaps I should put on my prison guard hat on and use my trusty 'ol $%#$ words.
Eighteen years in state prison, I've got some doozies, I'm not proud to say...

Just kidding, that doesn't work in the real world too well. Just ask the verizon internet support folks :rolleyes2

On a serious note, for me personally, the planning is a big part of the fun. It's a small break from the norm at home and pays off when we get there. Especially the dining part of it!

While the "system glitch" isn't the end of the world, and was totally avoidable (imho), it took a little of the fun away, although hopefully just temporarily. Sad...

I manually added 3 resort and 2 dining reservations yesterday, and they are still there today.

The new website gives you a link, saying you can still access your reservations that were made before Dec 12 by going to (this link) But the link doesn't go to the old website, so they should just take that sentence out.

I wrote to them, saying the link did not work and also asked if we would get some of the same info that we used to be able to see like total cost, and balance due type info. This is the response I got.

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort. With the new
website, you must manually add your existing reservations through the
"My Disney Experience" tab under "My Reservations". If you are
experiencing a looping issue, please check back later. The website is
brand new and with your feedback, the site is being enhanced so you can
include existing reservations. There is no access to the old website.

And yes, the new My Disney Reservation tab will have information, such
as the balance due and payment information. We do anticipate a speedy
enhancement so the website will be a useful tool for our guests.
Oh dear lord. Who doesn't think that is something that should go on first? Heaven knows the last thing they should do is make their website a "useful tool for their guests" right from the start :rolleyes1

I think I may be spending way too much time on this one, but one more before I head out for work...

Rather than using the standard cue card, cookie cutter, mumbo jumbo spin, Disney just might understand what happened and generate a sincere apology to its guests, rather than the intelligence insulting replies I've seen them send.

Genuinely recognize the fiasco that they have created and get to work and make it right.

See you in 9 hours!!

This is almost comical at this point. Translation.. "We know our website sucks. Just wait, and it may not suck at some point. When is anybodies guess. So stop yelling at us.":rotfl2:

No, you are not wrong. It's a problem with the new website - it counts infants against room occupancy. You should be able to call and book that room over the phone.

Thanks!I thought that was the case. We are going to book with Dreams Unlimited this time, but I was just trying to look up availability:)

Awesome. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I sent Disney an e-mail complaining about their website about 9 months ago because even then it severely sucked. It was buggy, would log me out for no reason, retrieve my reservations pretty much whenever it felt like (which was not often), and wouldn't allow me to update my contact info.

9 months later they have a "new" site and it's even worst. I don't know why it surprises me that such a large company has these kinds of problems. After working for an advertising for a while now I see it all the time and in most cases I've seen it's honestly just people being difficult. The advertising that designs the site gets into arguments with the folks that program it, people get lazy or they don't want to be blamed. The truth of the matter is this site isn't so fancy or technologically new that they should be having all of these problems. Many other large companies do the same thing every day -- Cruise lines, theme parks, hotels... so why does it seem to take months maybe even years for Disney to get a working website up?

I can't pull up my package reservation at all! I was able to manually link all of my dining reservations, but when I input package info, could not be located! GRRR...would like to be able to view it all together!

Now this is what I call service. . .

Dear Mattsdragon,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you as we roll out this new
web site. Being that it is still under enhancement, some of the features
including dining retrievals and links to the package. However, be
assured that your reservations are intact. While this issue is being
fixed, please log back in and go to My reservations, near the top, there
is a link to the other web site (My Reservations Page)where you can
click to view your reservations there. This has worked for many guests.

I hope this is helpful, Mattsdragon.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Sincerely,

English is not my first language and I might absolutely incorrect but this sentence doesn't make one iota of sense, right?

Being that it is still under enhancement, some of the features
including dining retrievals and links to the package.

That sentence is "still under enhancement."

I'm trying to book and I am adding peoples names and "an error occurred when saving your guest information, try again later"
