Disney w/ my girlfriend and my parents for 7 days. Woop woop! April/May '09

All those jello shots! Wow, college memories flooding over me!:lmao:

My roommate and I drove over to New Orleans from San Antonio (where we went to school) to party at Mardi Gras one year. So much fun. Absolute craziness though. Kinda scary to think back on it now.:scared:

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing!

:rotfl:

New Orleans is crazy as it is let alone during Mardi Gras! It's about a 5 hour drive from me. Every time we go there is always crazy/scary stories to share. :scared1: Always fun though. Nothing better than eating at Cafe Du Monde for breakfast and Margaritaville for dinner.

I never made jello shots in college. If only I would have thought about it. :confused3 Dang! ;)

The only reason we could really go was because my roommate's good friend from high school became a traveling nurse. She was "stationed" in New Orleans for a time. We stayed with her. I seriously don't remember eating food on that trip.:confused3 We ate in ONE real restaurant at the end of the trip. I think it was close to the water. We never seemed to go to bed before the sun rose and we never seemed to wake up until 3 or 4 in the afternoon.:lmao:

Wow! I bet you do have some crazy stories! :woohoo: Its good that you got to go and have a good time though. I think New Orleans is a place everyone should experience at least once. Of course this is in no comparison to the fact that everyone should experience Disney World all the time. :cutie: :wizard:

Hey there!

Just caught up on your PTR! It looks like you have such a fun family... and oh my goodness, your niece and nephew are just adorable. The picture of Hallise snuggled up with Jeni is so beautiful!

I love both of the shirts you got on sale.:goodvibes

I visited New Orleans way back in... summer of 2003? I think? And about the only thing I can remember is the HEAT. :rotfl: It was crazy!!! Oh, and the beignets at Cafe du Monde!:lovestruc We also took one of those air boat rides through a swamp it it was gorgeous. An alligator jumped right up on the boat though, and I just about had a heart attack!

Thanks so much! I love my little squishies. :cutie:

The heat down here can be cRAZy! On our last trip we went to the New Orleans Zoo. Not the best zoo Ive ever been to, but definately did not disappoint! We almost didn't make it though because the heat! Bleh!
I cannot believe an alligator jumped on your boat! I have never taken any tours down there. I think I would have flipped out! :scared1:

Yay more DIS friends! :goodvibes I'll have to catch up on your journal. Congrats on your wedding and Disneymoon! How exciting! :lovestruc Already just seeing the picture on your first post, you two are a cute couple! Beautiful picture!

This DISign thread is aaaalllll the way at the bottom from the main disboards.com page... its called "Creative DISigns" ... I was addicted and have made myself stop looking because I realized the money I was spending to make cute pre-Disney things was taking away from my disney spending money... which was no good... :headache:

I look forward to reading your report! :cutie:

Hey, Tarah! I just got caught up on your report! Your family looks like a blast to hang out with! Your dad reminds me of my dad, who is also often "resting his eyes." :rotfl: Plus, your niece and nephew are so cute! What darlings! :goodvibes

LOVE your shopping and DIS design finds. Really cute stuff! :thumbsup2

My opinion on EMH is based solely on PM EMHs (because we're sleep-in kind of people ;) ), but here it is: In my experience, the first hour can sometimes remain a bit crowded, but afterwards the park generally clears out. At AK, we've hopped on EE with a 5 min wait and rode Kali River Rapids 4 times around WITHOUT GETTING OFF THE BOAT. And this was during a busy spring break week! MK EMHs have also been really good in our experience, as well as DHS. That same week I was talking about, we were able to ride ToT with a 5 min wait and walk right on to RnRC. Admittedly, you often have to stay all the way through closing to receive some of these benefits, but what we do is hang out in the shops or grab a snack or ride some of the less popular rides early in the EMH while the crowds subside and then hit the more popular stuff later. It works great for us!

I will say, however, that we have never tried PM EMH for Epcot with rides in mind. We've done the EMH once, but we used the time to walk around the countries at WS because the rides were too busy. Still, we had a lovely evening! :cloud9:

As for some input on dining, I think if you want to hit just CS places to save some money that it's entirely doable without having to eat just cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets all week. Earl of Sandwich is AWESOME and reasonably priced (I think all the sandwiches are in the $7-$10 range if I remember right, and I think that's a high estimate.), and Sunshine Seasons in the Land at Epcot has an amazing variety of food that is also reasonably priced. When we were kids and only ate at CS places, my mom estimated about $20 per person per day for all of our food and snacks, and she usually came out with money still in her pockets after the week was over.

So there's my $0.02. Hope it helps somewhat. I can't wait to hear more about your plans! :cheer2:

Hooray! Thanks for your two cents! :goodvibes I really appreciate it!

I really :lovestruc my family! I wish I could share them with everyone! I am truely blessed to have them.

I think we will be trial and error this trip. We just haven't been in so long and I have never been as an "adult". I was in high school our last trip. We are doing the EMH hours. I was so confused about it before, but it really works out easier that way because all the cut backs on the shows and parades. The schedule (on my lovely spreadsheet ;) ) just falls into place on EMH days. I am so excited I could burst into Disney tears at any moment when discussing out trip! Partially because it is really hard to go without my sister. People think we are twins and we get along like best friends. We do plan on trying to go together next year though! *fingers crossed* But also partially because I am just that excited and happy to go!! I'm sure that is something perhaps only a fellow DISer would understand?? :confused3

I am super excited to try EoS! I see so many on the menu that sound yummy! There is a ton of new things for us, so a large part of me feels like a first timer just because it's been so long... but then the rest of me feel like the Disney Pro! :cool1: I really think we will be able to do low cost dining... Our plan is to stay low cost most of the time with a couple nice dinner splurges.

My email box is filled with updates on your report! Ill have to catch up again! :rotfl:

OFF TOPIC: My sister took this pic of us and was really proud of it... I have gained so much weight lately that I hate any pics of me, but I thot I would share.. I think its similar if not the same to the one a few posts up... not sure. but she "fixed" it. haha. but here we go... this is for my seester. :cutie:

That's a great picture of you and your sister!

And don't worry, all of us on the DIS know exactly the butterflies-in-stomach-about-to-go-crazy-with-excitement Disney feeling! But there's nothing better than a PTR to pass the time!:goodvibes

Hooray for my picture! I think it's a great picture of both of us! Better than last years Mardi Gras picture! :rotfl: I am so excited for your trip (I will be there in spirit!) :flower3:

I think I finally have Mario (my hubby for those following ;) ) on board the Disney wagon! :cheer2: I told him last night I have started gathering info for our September trip next year..he asked why we couldn't go THIS year! :lovestruc I gave him the BIGGEST hug!! There is hope he will come over to the Darkside, yet! :darth: Maybe I should feed him more cookies! :rotfl2:

PS - THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE COMPLIMENTS ON MY KIDDOS!!! THEY ARE THE GREATEST!! :lovestruc

PPS - I went a little crazy with the smilies! :lmao:

I would be super excited if you guys go to go this year, but what about our plans for next year? Would you guys try to go again with us?? We need to discuss this!! :guilty:

I am glad Mario is coming to the disney dark side... we should feed him more cookies.

Thank you so much!! I'm going to have to go check out that design thread!!

off topic warning...

alrighty ... well the boards are being weird this evening. perhaps its my internet... it is picking and choosing when i am considered "logged in" to reply on peoples threads. boo!

in autumnpalms report my tattoos were brought up and i was going to show her some pics of them... well it will not let me reply on her page which is tragic because she found some very great shopping finds today! :lovestruc

but for the curious minds and for those who are just reading :rotfl: these are my tattoos...

this is a horrible picture of the one on my right wrist... its a star with diagnol rainbow stripes. my very first one i got alone on my 18th birthday... i know many moms out there are prolly shaking their heads... but thats ok. :thumbsup2 i still love it.

TarahTattoos003.jpg

this is my back ... i took this picture with my back to the bathroom mirror in my pajamas... the color is much brighter in person and my back does not look distorted.. it takes up the right half of my upper back pretty much. im not sure how the picture will turn out... so just to explain its a giant black star with lots of ribbons and tiny stars ... :goodvibes yes i like stars...

TarahTattoos001.jpg

my fave is on my left wrist. it is a black shaded tulip. :flower3: the pic makes my arm look ghostly... granted i am not the tannest gal.. but i promise there is a lil bit of color to me. ;)

TarahTattoos002.jpg

well there you go.. i apologize if you feel as tho that was a waste of a dis post... :guilty: but theres a little bit more of me shared with my dis friends.

hope everyone is having a happy friday night!

I love the one on your wrist with the black star and colors coming out of it. So pretty! I really want to get a tattoo, but I'm scared to death of needles. Maybe I'll talk myself in to it one day!

Yay, pictures of your tattoos. I love how colourful the first two are are.:goodvibes And the tulip is just beautiful. I'm the same as Heather... I would love a tattoo but I kind of chicken LOL.:rotfl2: Did they hurt a lot?

I love off topic posts btw. It's so much fun getting to know other DISers!:thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes The two on my wrists did not hurt, but the one on my back did.... helloooo thats my shoulder blade! :scared: but other than that it wasn't bad.

To continue in my off topic splurge ... ;)

My brother in law has been in the hospital with a bacterial virus in his colon... it has not been friendly at all. :sad2: Due to this I have been helping more than usual with my sister's kiddos... Hallise was sick today so my marmee got them from day care. I got to my sisters this evening to find Hallise in this outfit...

HalliseEasterEgg.jpg

she was all red from crying... but i took a picture, because i told them she looks like an easter egg! :rotfl: does this poor baby not look like a living easter egg?? or is it just me?

she was still fussy here because she needs to go to bed and is fighting it... but then brother took her for a "ride" on his little car... it was sweet. her cheeks are so red. :cutie:

HallisePierce.jpg

hopefully the easter egg made you laugh or at least crack a smile. i thot it was funny. :lmao:

oh on an ending note i do have some minor disneyish updates to come soon! :wizard:

Hey, Tarah! Love the tattoos! I really like the star on your wrist. It's so pretty and colorful. And the tulip looks so elegant. I'd love to get a tattoo, probably somewhere on my foot or on my back, but I just don't know of a design I would want to get that I wouldn't regret later! Maybe one day....

Sorry to hear about your brother in law. Anything that has to do with the colon is never pretty. Here's some get-well pixie dust to send his way. pixiedust:

You're right, Hallise DOES look like an Easter egg in that outfit! :rotfl: And a very cute Easter egg at that! The picture of her and her bubby is too cute for words. (In our house, bubby=brother BTW. Just in case you were going, "What the heck is a bubby? :lmao: )

I can't wait for the next update! :cool1:
