Disney vs Universal with teen boy....

The Royal Pacific is SO much nicer than a Disney budget resort. That is probably a lot of the cost. I'm not convinced that the Universal meal deal is all that great but it really depends on what you want. My son and I much prefer the Studios to IOA but they are both great parks. The Universal website has a lot of info about what to expect.

We try to do both Universal and WDW thanks to my teen talking me into Universal some years ago. It's expensive but I can't imagine skipping either one.

I would pick Universal for sure with a teen boy.

The Universal hotels are 10 times better than a Disney value. No comparison.

And if you stay onsite at Universal you get unlimited express pass which is like the Disney fast pass only other ppl have to pay for it and staying on property you get it for free. That usually runs about $30-$50 a day per person just for the express pass.

Island of Adventure and Universal have much better rides than any of the Disney parks.

My teens love Universal and IOA better than Disney. We always go to both but they prefer US/IOA.

Staying on property you also get early entry into Harry Potter area. One hour before everybody else gets in.

my guess is he would prefer Universal. More thrill rides.
