Disney Visa

I feel the same as Julia M!! I use to use my debit and Discover card until I got this one and now it is all I use unless I am somewhere that doesn't accept it... I charge just about everything so I can earn points and hope that what I have so far will pay for several character meals, extras and fun stuff for our upcoming trip!!

There is double points on lots of things as well, so you don't necessarily have to spend as much as you think.

One thing to note for those of you that have high balances is that I think you can only redeem $750 per calendar year. That's how it was last year when I cashed out for our trip. Ok.. I just checked and I was wrong, I guess you can only accrue $750 per year, (you will only be allowed to accumulate a maximum aggregate amount of 750 Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM each calendar year, which ends with your December billing statement.) I had thought you could only redeem $750 as well, but I'm not sure now.

Question on double points. Last June it said some double points from like Sept till June if you charged over 250 or so, when I called about not having double they said they don't add the double points until the promotion is over so it would not be till July, but we are going in June. Anyone else know about this or should I call and talk to someone else.

"If they can personalize the double points, they could personalize room or vacation packages (kind of like getting a postcard)"

Exactly!! When I got my notice for "bonus" double rewards for the year on certain purchases, it said it would only kick in after the first $1,000 I charged each month. Then I read on these boards that some only have to charge $250 to get the bonus rewards?? What's that all about? Is it because I charge more? Do I get rewarded for that? I'm a charter member of the Disney Visa, and my rewards will be paying for our room next week with $350 left over to spend on whatever. But I've already switched to another credit card, one that will earn me a higher rate of cash back and that will go into our Disney fund. Also, I can't remember ever seeing a code or discount that the Disney card offered, that wasn't offered to the general public shortly thereafter.~:sad2:~

:earseek: Not only do you have to charge $100,000, don't you have to actually pay it off to collect the Disney Dollars?

No you can have a balance on your card and still redeem your reward dollars.

I recall some promotion during 2004 where you would get double dollars for shopping at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants. Considering that's what we use our Disney Visa for the most, we were able to accumulate a lot this year.

I bought my Annual Passes and charged them to my Disney visa, do I get the 0% financing for 6 months, I was really hoping that I did.

I love my Disney Visa. The rewards aren't that great but that 0% interest is the bomb. We were able to take our trip a whole year earlier with that deal. But lately I've been having problems getting on the Bank One site. Anyone else having that problem?

I could very well be wrong, but I thought the 0% was only for vacation packages.

I'm not sure though. You may be better off by calling customer service and asking.

I called today to book a keys t the kingdom tour, and while months ago the disney visa card site said that the 20% off disney tours wasn't avalable any longer, it still is, caused i asked if there were any visa promotions and she said yes, 20%.

So I guess for those looking for disney world promotions, good news for you?

According to the person I spoke with, the double points take a few billing cycles to show up. In other words, say you charged $500 in December (all of which was eligible for double points). Your statement for that cycle will only show $5 Disney Reward dollars for that statement, but the $5 "double rewards" will show up on your statement in 1-2 months. I keep track of ours, and sure enough the double rewards have been showing up on future statements. So, if you are going in June, you should have most of your double rewards by then. I would call and speak with someone else to clear this up. By the way, if your monthly billing cycle ends while you are at WDW, you can call and have that months rewards dollars transfered to your rewards card the day after your billing cycle ends. Rewards dollars are only credited to your account at the end of your billing cycle.

While the rewards are not any better than other cards - I have an LL Bean Vias and a Discover Card - up until today, I had used this card for almost everything I buy. In August, I had my first dose of how bad Bank One's customer service is. In the last 24 hours I have been reminded of their terrible service. We are planning a Spring Break vacation to ski in Canada. In August when we booked it the fraud computer shut down the account with 2,000 Canada charge. After almost an hour on the phone they straightened it out, supposed noted that in Feb the remainder of the Vacation would charge, and appologized. Due to the confusion, Whistler Resorts almost cancelled the whole thing in August.

Well, we get home from work last night to an e-mail from Whistler and 1/8th of a phone message from Bank One. I called and sure enough even after the notation, they shut the card off again whne Whistler tried to charge the remainder of the trip. Seaking with customer service I took away the following quotes: We can deny any charge we want, for any reason, and we don't need to you why"; "Us making notes on the account does not guarentee anything"; and "If you think XXX is better credit card company go use them". Their computer then woke us up at 8:00 am since the supervisor I spoke to forget to save the fact I called in the computer! We are still trying to straighten out the vacation with Whistler. The fine customer service man also feels that Canada is an 3rd worl/exotic country (no insult intended to the Canadians on the board - I love visiting but it doesn't meet my definition of 3rd world or exotic)

As of now the card is staying open for only 2 reasons: I want the 0% interest for 6 months on our 2 cruise vacations (I am looking forward to using their money!!) and I want to use my dollars in December. We used almost $400 in disney dollars last April and I have over 700 on the account now.

Like the previous poster I charge 100% of everything and pay it off every month. I have charged charitble contributions, summer camp tuition, everyday items, gas, medical bills, etc.

A few important things to note if you use the 0% - all payments are credited to that balance first - so if you continue to use the card you will accrue interest on what ever you charge. The 0% will also end if you have any type of a late payment. Also, double points are very customized based on your spending - I need to spend more than $1500 and only very specific categories count.
