Ok, got my disney visa last month for our trip in January. Don't plan to carry much of a balance, but couldn't resist the 6 months no interest on our trip. I understand there are other perks, but have ???
1. meet and great with characters and free photo? Where and when each day and can I do this each day we are there?
2. free stroller? for each day or only once?
3. some discounts, although reading the small print has me confused, any help appreciated?
4., on the rewards, is this only on stuff I've paid off or anything I've charged and how do you get them? (Ie if I charge the trip do I have to pay it off before I get the rewards?)
5. anything else? I am spending enough on this trip so looking for any help.
(I would note they said I would get a 25 gift card after first use, used the card and two weeks later had the gift card, even before the first bill.....)

Thanks

1. meet and great is located at DCA at Ariels between opening and 11:30. Characters vary.

2. Limit two free strollers per cardmember per day.

3. 10% off dining

10% off purchases of $50 or more.

4., You earn rewards based on $ charged, regardless of whether paid off or not. Of course you must pay your minimum each month. To "get" them either go online to chase.com/disney or call them and get a "rewards card." You must have at least $20 in rewards to get the card, after that you can reload it in any amount over $10.

1. meet and great with characters and free photo? Where and when each day and can I do this each day we are there? Downstairs at Ariel's Grotto, everyday from park opening until 11:30am. Yes you can it everyday and both you and your husband (if you both have a card) can get the free photo certificate. Its good on any photo taken at DLR, not just the Meet n'greet.

2. free stroller? for each day or only once? Good everyday all day, for up to two strollers per card holder.

3. some discounts, although reading the small print has me confused, any help appreciated? 10% off merchandise over $50 and some dining discounts, but I can't remember where. I just plan on using my everywhere and ask about the discount.

4., on the rewards, is this only on stuff I've paid off or anything I've charged and how do you get them? (Ie if I charge the trip do I have to pay it off before I get the rewards?) You get the rewards when your monthly statement comes whether the balance is paid or not.

5. anything else? I am spending enough on this trip so looking for any help. You can also get 20% off any tours at the park. We used ours to do the Discover the Magic Tour.

I hope that helps! BTW don't forget to order your rewards card well in advance of your trip. You can easily transfer your rewards balances to the card once you have it.

Also, don't forget to check the rewards website often, for things like free movie previews (the latest is the new Narnia movie)

I love my Disney Visa!!

Disclaimer: I ordered my first Rewards card about two weeks ago and don't have it yet.

One thing you have to keep an eye on is the Reward Card's EXPIRATION date! Again, I don't have mine yet, but I think I understand that the Rewards Card (the one you transfer your points to to use them) expires at the end of the calendar year in which you obtain the card. Chase Visa is, shall we say, vague about this in all their materials.

EDIT: Disneychrista is right in her next post--got my card finally and it expires Dec 2006.

When you use the RC, your receipt for your purchases should show you the remaining balance--pay attention! Of course you can always call the automated line or check your balance on-line, but who wants to spend their vacation that way??

Our upcoming trip is in Dec, so I'm a little concerned about the whole end-of-year expiration of the RC. Not that I can't manage to spend money at DL :rotfl2: but I don't want to lose a precious cent of my "free" money! Worst case scenario, I'll buy Disney Dollars at the Disney Store Dec 31!

I read a post somewhere on here to take printouts from the Chase Disney Visa website of the discount programs, since not all CMs are knowledgeable about the discounts. Always a good idea to be able to say "This purchase make me eligible for this discount, right?" and whip out the paper. ;)

Try searching this forum for "VISA" and check out some of the old threads on deals/promos.

Good luck!

The cards do expire but it December of the year after you get it. My card, I got in June 2005; it expires December 2006. So if you are not going until 2006/2007 wait until January to obtain the card and it will expire December 2007.
