There are a few other details. The points do expire if not used within six years. Each statement will tell you when your points expire. The card that they are transferred to looks and acts like a credit card. If you have reserved with a regular credit card, you have not yet paid with that card, so you can still use the rewards card to pay for your hotel on site. There are a few postings regarding the rewards and how they work. If you do a search, you will be able to get a lot of details from other card holders.
I got the card when they first came our thinking I could charge everything, being a DVC member and always have a place to spend the points (which is true). I was hoping to funnel my kids college tuition through the cards and pay for park passes, but that hasn't been possible.
As stated earlier, you get a dollar for every hundred you spend. There were promises about bonus times and special offers, but none of these have proven to be as frequent or rewarding as advertised. At the most, we may have accumulated 10 or 15 extra bonus dollars on top of the regular dollars in the past four years. Those bonuses are not across the board. They are applied to certain types of purchase, often monthly payments such as cell phone bills, groceries, etc.
There are other cards out there which offer rewards that may be greater than the 1% you get. That's an individual decision.
Hope this helps.
