Disney Visa Rewards Question

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with receiving the bonus points Disney Visa awards and how long it actually takes for the bonus credit to show up. When I called today, they told me it would be 6-8 weeks after the promotional period ends (September) for the bonus points to be awarded. We are on 10/11/08 cruise so I called to ask if it could be expedited. They told me it was "impossible," so I was wondering it it really takes 6-8 weeks, which of course means they will not be available for our cruise. Thanks.

I also heard 6-8 weeks for it to take to get bonus points......but I know you can transfer them immediately when they are available if you have access to phone or internet....maybe by the end of the cruise you will them availalbe to apply to your onboard account. Make sure you have already ordered your rewards card with at least 10 points on it already. Then whenever they are availalbe you can transfer the rest. I believe there is even a place in Downtown Disney to transfer points to a reward card.

Yep, 6-8 weeks or 1-2 billing cycles. The big question is when is your statement ending date. I have the same dilema since I am on the Oct 16 cruise. My statement ending date is the 25th so that would be the very earliest that I would be able to get the bonus points. Unfortunately, I will be home by then so I can't have them for our cruise either.

Now the bright side - this just means that you will have to rebook while on board so you can use these points later. I even heard via this board that you can actually use the points to pay for the cruise. Up til now I thought it was only for OBC. It does say you can pay for the cruise in the flyer that came with my reward card I just got a couple of weeks ago for our Oct cruise. Now all I have to do is figure it out.

If it really takes 6-8 weeks we will not make it. Our billing cycle ends the 18th, so we will not even make 4 weeks until the cruise. Oh well.
