SO... let me make sure I understand, as we are having a situation here (DD can't find EITHER of her rewards cards and she leaves for WDW tomorrow morning).
Does Pay Yourself Back mean that DD can charge meals at Disney to her Disney Rewards VISA card and when she gets the bill, she can use her rewards to pay off those meals?
Does she have to transfer the rewards to her credit card before making the charges, or can she just do it when she gets her credit card statement (that would show the purchases at Disney)?
This could definitely change things around here tonight!
Can you transfer points from a redemption card back to the cc? I would think not but I’ve never tried it.SO... let me make sure I understand, as we are having a situation here (DD can't find EITHER of her rewards cards and she leaves for WDW tomorrow morning).

I'm the OP, but I have the free version (from a long time ago). I think it was someone else who mentioned the current bonus on the premium card. It’s a credit card bonus, there are many out there. OP signed up for a new Disney credit card, paid the annual fee, met the spend and got the bonus.
I just saw this now, so I'm glad other people answered you!SO... let me make sure I understand, as we are having a situation here (DD can't find EITHER of her rewards cards and she leaves for WDW tomorrow morning).
Thanks, they are having a great time despite a questionable spider in the room that necessitated a room change (at Disney's suggestion). Regarding the rewards cards, she ended up calling Chase, which canceled both her existing cards (they had zero balances); I didn't know you could do this! When they arrived on Wednesday evening they went to guest services at Disney Springs and got a new rewards card. Today they were off to AK and having dinner at Jiko tonight, so I'm pretty good they are having a great time!I just saw this now, so I'm glad other people answered you!
Hope her trip is going well
Yes it should be a credit.I realize this thread is a bit old now but I’m super curious. I put a down deposit with my Disney Visa premier card for a cruise next year but I may have to cancel. I used the PYB to pay for that deposit after the charge fully went through. Now I may need to cancel that due to tight financial issues that have surfaced. If I cancel and get my deposit back onto the card does that mean my PYB becomes null and void and I don’t have that money on my account as a credit? Does it just go poof? This line in the terms “Rewards Dollars redeemed for statement credits cannot be returned or re-deposited.” is very confusing. I understand if the money can’t go back into the “rewards” part of the system but everything should become a credit on my account though right?
Chase does not clawback PYB credits in instances of refunds. This isn’t spelled out anywhere but in practice this is how it has worked on all their credit cards since they started PYB years ago.I realize this thread is a bit old now but I’m super curious. I believe so, yes.Just stumbled on this thread and I've got a question: We still owe $400 to WDW for our Nov. 2025 trip coming up. Can I make a payment online with my Disney Premier Visa (and get the 2% rewards) then use the Pay Yourself Back function to pay for that charge?
That is the smart thing to do. If you get the rewards redemption card and use that, you don't get any cash back. If you charge it to your Disney Visa, get the 2% back, then when the bill comes, pay with the Pay Yourself Back credit. That way you get at least the 2% back to pay off the bill. Hope that makes sense! I did not realize you could do this with the Disney Visa, I would always get the redemption card and use that at Disney. This time, I'll use my Visa card to pay off my room account instead of using a rewards redemption card towards it, get the cash back, then use that to pay the bill when I get home.Just stumbled on this thread and I've got a question: We still owe $400 to WDW for our Nov. 2025 trip coming up. Since you can only do Pay Yourself Back once per transaction if you wait to use the feature after your statement posts you will be able to use any new rewards dollars.I didn’t even have to wait for the statement, just for the charges to post. Even my charges from last year were available for applying the credit, so if she had any eligible charges in the past year, she might be able to apply it tonight.
Thanks for the info everybody! This seems like one of those “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” things lolYes, we used PYB instead of loading a redemption card on our last trip to DLR. It allows you to get your 2% back and once the charge posts to your account, you can go into the Chase app and pay yourself back. It was too easy.
