Just ordered my card. Course, it is scheduled to coem the day before I leave! They agve me about 3 weeks for it to come. Did it take that long for any others who ahve ordered their card or did it come sooner?

Also, where are you abel to use it at WDW? Resorts and parks? Restaurants and stores? What about quick service counter type places? Liek Pecos?

I'm trying to figure out how much spending money I'll need to take since I'm sure many places won't atek the card such as vending.

Thansk!

I just ordered mine on November 29, 2003, I was told it would ship by Dec. 4 and received by Dec 18. I received it thru regular mail on December 5, 2003. Don't worry! Be happy your going to the World.

I also recieved the card much faster than stated by the website. I think you'll be fine, even though it is the holiday season. I've heard that you can use the card throughout the world...not sure about the carts, though. I bet somebody will know this.

Also...beware of the rewards card! ALL of the rewards you transfer to the card expire in one year. For example, on the website it says that 57 of my points expire in March 2008 (or some date in the very far future), but when I put the points on the card...they expire in one year of the card activation. (and unused points are not transferable to a new card. Nice, huh?)

Hope that helps! I haven't heard of anyone having trouble using their card at the parks yet! Have fun.

Adding in here: I've heard that the card is good at all restaurants, counter included, all gift shops (resort and parks)...the only thing I'm not sure of is the carts.:D

Interesting Tinks. I specifically asked about the expiration date once I transferred them to the card and she told me the date that is on the website, not a year! I felt a little unsure when she told me that. But, I'm sure I can spend it all with no problems.
I hope it comes cause I spent soem of my money I had put aside for the trip on Christmas instead.
I was saving the reward points towards an annual pass next June, but I need it now instead!

Here's my idea - I'm thinking of putting all my charges on my room card while I'm at WDW - then calling to have my points transferred to my points card the day before check out (I already ordered one with just 20 pts so I would have it- was told that points could be transferred 'instantly')- then applying the rewards points to my balance when I check out. That way I don't have to be concerned about having points with a 12/04 exp date(exp date that is on the card for the 20 pts) on the rewards card if I don't need them - in case some unforseen (Yikes! ) circumstances mess up my trip! Anyone know of any reason why this wouldn't work?
Oh yeah, this way I can also pay my bill right before I leave and have the points from all my Xmas shopping available, too.:smooth:

Got it today! That was fast!
Course, I also discovered today that soemone stole my Disney Visa number and charged up my account over the limit. :(

Oh NO!! I'm so sorry to hear that ! Do you have any idea how or where they might have gotten your number? I hope you are able to get it straightened out quickly - good luck! and let us know how helpful they were in this situation.:(

I had all my reward $$ transferred to my room account, which seems like the simplest thing to do -- just one transaction and you're done. But that took about 10 minutes for the front desk CM to complete! I'm glad I didn't try to use it at a retail location; don't be surprised if some places are not up to speed on this.

So do you think it would be easier to just room cahrge everything and give them the reward card to start off with? I'm assuming then you'd also give a credit card to cover if you go over the rewards?

Yes, that's the idea. It worked well for us! It's hard to imagine have more money on the card than you spend during your stay.

I was thinking of using my Disney Visa rewards for length of stay passes. We're staying at the Dolphin. Can someone explain how I can accomplish this. Thanks for the heads up about the stolen cards. I'll have to check my statement very closely.

Thanks,
