Disney Visa questions

no, the new cardholder gets $25 gift certificate - not sure what the code-giver gets. The same, maybe?

In order to get the gift certificate you have to use the referrer's code and the promo-code. Lalaroo gave me that information and this link:

http://www.firstusa.com/cgi-bin/web..._mgm_25gc_25ddrd_altmed&page=cont&mkid=6SWH11

I dont get the gift certificate until after my application is approved (which I'm sure it will be) and I use the card at least once.

ahhh ok, cool, I had for sure mis-understood that :).. THanks for clearing that up.

the only reason i knew all that was because i did it yesterday and read all the fine print before signing up :)

DH didnt think it was worth it but between the $25 GC and the disney dollars we'll earn after we pay off the entire trip with the card (then pay the card off as soon as the charge posts on the account), we'll have over $50 of free money. Why not?

When we went in Oct I went to customer service in DTD, they were able to give me a redeemable card and have the points transferred right then and there...instead of waiting for 6 to 8 weeks for one in the mail! It was awesome, it paid for all the meals!

Does it really take 6-8 weeks? I just ordered my first reward card & it said 10 days....YIKES 6-8 weeks is cutting it close to my trip...dang.

Also, when I want to transfer other points onto the card, is it done in certain point increments...like 5 or 10 points? I was able to transfer all mine today & it was an odd number...

Thanks in advance.

No it shouldn't take 6-8 weeks normally. I got mine in about 8-10 days. If you don't get it within 2-3 weeks, I would call them about it.

Once you have the rewards cards, you have to transfer a minimum of $10, but it can be any amount...i.e. 11, 17, 49....that you have earned for your account at the time of the transfer.

Thanks ICF!

One last question then....since the next time I transfer the rewards I'll have the actual card, is it immediate then? Said another way...I'm wondering how soon before our trip I should transfer the remaining rewards or if I can wait until the day before we leave???

I have a Disney Visa card and it expires on 8/08, should I transfer my Disney points ($) before it's renewed? .....our next trip is October 2008 if I do transfer them say July 2008 will the points ($) be good until our next trip in October 2008?

FYI - I recently ordered rewards cards and they arrived in just 2 or 3 days! It was the first time I ordered so I don't know if that's unusual. I live in Colorado.

When you transfer points, it's immediate. I called from WDW to transfer rewards dollars to the rewards card I already had, and the money was there right away. I actually transfer in stages so that if I lose my card and someone uses it before I cancel it, I won't lose all my rewards dollars.

Also, as someone else said, the rewards card comes within a few days (less than a week) after you order it. There is no way it will take 6-8 weeks! I just got one last week, so I'm pretty current on it.

How do you set this up? Is there a contact person at Epcot when you arrive? This was one of the reasons I just got my card!! Easy meet and greets!!:cool1: TIA!!

You do not need to set this up. It is called a Character Meet N Greet and it is offered daily from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at Innovations West in Epcot. It is only for Disney Visa cardholders and you do need to show them your Visa card to participate. You can have 6 people go to the Meet N Greet per Visa card. My husband also carries one, so we could have had 12 people with us. You also receive a free 5 x 7 picture. The Guest Relations desk can tell you which characters are there on the day you are because they do vary. It is really worth doing.:goodvibes

Is there a limit to how many times you can go and get the free pic? For instance, I'll be visiting Epcot on 3 different days during my December trip. Can I attend the meet n greet each of the 3 days and get 3 pics?

yes, you can go all 3 days for the meet & greet and the free 5x7. Once per day of your visit if you want.

We visited Epcot twice last trip and we did the Meet 'N' Greet twice and ended up with 2 5x7's. Plus they took pictures for us using our camera, so we got plenty of good pictures.

I just got stuff in the mail from Disney Visa yesterday. It says that the cardholder and the new applicant card holder would both get $25.00 in reward dollars. The new card holder would get the $25.00 after a first purchase.

If anyone is interested this is the link www.disneyvisafriends.com If you would like to have the refferal code you can pm me.

Not soliciting...just in case someone wants to do it. Hope this helps someone.

hehe i got the tinkerbell card too. The bambi one is still being offered with the $50 GC link that someone posted earlier. They dont have the tink one.

This thread has been really helpful!

Anyone else have any feedback from using the card?

I noticed that Disney Visa members sometimes get a discount code for disney vacations. Is it different from the discount code offered?

I love using my Tinkerbell card. I get so many comments. Even when I used it in Barcelona, the checkout girls would comment.

Of course, DH is NOT fond of using it. ;) I've told him that he can always call and get himself a different one, but he hasn't so far.
