disney visa question

my mother has about 400 points on here disney visa and wants to give them to me for my up coming trip if she gives me her rewards card do they ask for an id at the resort when you go to use them also can the rewards card be used at the disney store to buy park tickets thanks

You can use them at the Disney Store to buy tickets-that's a good idea. We used ours and went to the Disney Store and bought Disney Dollars with all of our points.

When we swiped our rewards card at food places in the parks they had no idea if we were the actual person named or not. Places whre you have a reservation or at the hotel might be different. You mom could call and get the tickets from Disney or make a payment to the room for you with the card though.

One way to make sure you can use the $ is probably to have her purchase disney dollars with the rewards card?
Then you are guaranteed to be able to use that money.

For some reason i think that technically you can not buy DD with the rewards card. I think it may be one of those, the rules say no but people have gotten away with it. I used mine on-line to buy an annual pass. I don't remember if they checked in stores, etc.

I asked the question about getting Disney Dollars with reward card last week. Some people were able to get them at the Disney Store and others were told they could not. I went to my local Disney Store and the manager was absolutely no help. Said she believed I could but if I could not the register/computer would tell me when I tried to do it!!! Big help. (She also told me that reward cards DO NOT expire!! I explained to her that they sure do!!)

I ordered my reward card last year and my husband and I BOTH used it. At the food court he was asked to sign the slip some times and other times was not. I never had to sign for anything when using the card.

I used my husbands reward card and he was not with us at WDW. The card doesn't have a name on it until you sign the back.

I used my reward card at the World of Disney in NYC to buy a WDW gift card - they do not expire and the rewards card will. I won't bore you with the long story of why I had to transfer the rewards to the card...but that's one way to use up reward dollars that are going to expire.

Oops... sorry about that... I thought you can buy anything disney related with disney rewards card.

And yeah, I just read the fine print. It says that it may not be redeemed for cash or any equivalent... sigh... sorry about that.

I buy DD's with my rewards card at TDS every month. Just bought some this week.

I do not feel I am "getting away with something". Jeez. The Manager of TDS is always the person who gets my DD's for me.

There is no name on the rewards cards. I got two one for me to use and one for my DD to use as her spending money while we were at Disneyland.

I could get Disney Dollars at Disneyland but my mom was unable to get them at our local (well an hour away) Disney Store. Official, I believe the rewards cards are not good for Disney Dollars, as they are cash equivalent.

Our Disney store allows you to purchase Disney dollars with your reward points. I 've never had any problems.
When I read this thread I got a little concerned and just called the Disney store near me and they assured me that I can still purchase Disney Dollars with my reward points.

I have a rewards card and have never tried to purchase DD with the rewards points, but it seems to me that purchasing DD is perfectly legit. It's not the same thing as regular money in my eyes because it's not like you can take DD to Best Buy or Wal-Mart or elsewhere and get merchandise. I would think Disney's objective is to make sure people spend rewards points/money within the Disney conglomorate, which they would be doing with DDs.

Once you transfer the points (or dollars)to the card they most certainly have an expiration date...I always buy DD with my card because my DS.orDD and family go with us each yr...therefore I can split the rewards up between us all by using the DD...I did this as recently as Oct28-Nov4 when we were at the World....I also used the Reward card myself...but the rest of my family could have used it without problem...hope this helps...I also have had up to $400 on my card...when i went to the local DS to purchase DD..

I wanted to update my Disney dollar experience...I just got back from the Disney store and had no problem using my reward points for Disney dollars.
