I received our paperwork today that we will be signing and sending back tomorrow. I also noticed on my Disney Visa that there were 4 transactions from DVC...

My first was $2,500 which I assumed was broke up to that amount because of the 6 months 0% offered. The rest was 1 chard for my closing cost and the rest of the deposit on the initial 160pt contract. Then I had 2 other charges which were the deposits on 2 50pt contracts.

I called customer service tonight to see if I made a payment on the balance where it would be put first; toward the $2,500 at 0% or toward the rest of the balance. The customer service rep informed me that all of my purchases were subject to the 0% for 6 months.

Good News!!! Now I can put more money toward paying off the balance financed at 10.75%!!!

I'm just relaying what I was told, I have not yet received a statement to confirm what I was told.

I just noticed this on my credit card statement!!! I was so excited because I ended up putting the entire contract on the card with the plans to pay it off with other financing I had secured.

Now I can take 6 months to pay off all that I put on the card through Disney. I just have to sit down and figure out how much to pay each month to be sure that it is payed off before the 6 months ends!!!

Did you do this separately?? I put down my deposit of 2500.00 and my closing costs, but have not paid the balance yet? Wondering if the balance will be booked differently?? Just curious how your statement looks!!

Yes, the balance was paid at a separate time. When I got my statement, it was separated out, showing it as a new qualifying purchase.

What I saw was 3 separate promotional charges--my deposit, which was broken into two charges, and the balance of my contract. Next to each is said "Qualifying promo charges" with 0% and the date that the promotion ended.

Wondering if I can use my Disney card to pay the balance that I was going to finance, and get 0% for the 6 months. Should save $600 or more.

That is what I did. I called QA before I sent back my paperwork, paid the balance that I was going to finance with the CC and she told me to just throw away the finance papers of the contract.

I ended up getting all the Disney reward dollars too!!!. Hopefully, it all works out as I just paid only 1/6th of the balance that was there (well, I paid off all the other charges PLUS an additional payment to be applied toward the Disney balance). But, based on what the statement said, it is 0% for 6 months on all my DVC charges!

So instead of the DVD financing at 10.99% you put it all on your Disney Visa, got the reward dollars, and 0% for 6 months ? Were you still able to get BLT for $98 per point putting it on the Visa ? Assuming that how you finance shouldn't affect the price per point, but wasn't sure as I think there was another promo going on that gave you 2 APs if you used the Disney Visa, but you gave up the referral discount.

I put the entire balance on my Visa. I took the additional points off instead of the Disney Visa AP's as I ended up getting BLT (it was an add on and I did 130 points) for $96.00 per point.

The way that you pay does not affect your incentives. As I said, when my statement just came, it said I was getting the 6 months interest free.

Originally, my plan was to put it on the card to get the Disney reward dollars and then pay it off in full when the bill came with a personal loan that carried a much lower rate than Disney.

But now that its says I have 6 months to pay for it without any interest, I cancelled the personal loan and will just have it paid off in the 6 months.

It works out great for me as I figured interest charges into my costs and it appears now that I won't have to pay them!!!!

Thanks - kept thinking that BLT was $98 instead of $96, now I'm almost hoping my resale doesn't pass ROFR :rotfl:

It is $96.00 a point for add ons of 125 or more. I originally had an add on contract for 115, but when the new incentives came out, I cancelled it and ended up with 130 points for almost the same price as before.

For new members, I think you need to purchase at least 200 points to get the $96.00 per point price (with a member referral). If you only get between 160 - 199, it is $98.00 per point.

Good luck with your contract and I hope it works out. I bought in through resale in February with a small contract so that I could buy in at BLT with less points (since they were saying that they would be raising the minimum buy in to 200 points).

But now I realize that I really just want my points at BLT and given the new incentives, I have decided to sell my VWL contract. Once I close, I will able to then just add on more points at BLT.

Does anyone know if they can use Disney Visa to do a small add-on and still get the 2 free APs?

I'm considering an add-on and it might be worth it to go through Disney if that is the case.

You have to add on with 100 points to qualify for the AP's...less than that and it doesn't apply.

If you take the AP', you give up the additional points off as well. So, 100 points woud be $104.00 per point if you want to take the AP's.
