Decided to use points and cash for a cruise in Feb 08. No problems made the reservation and transferred the points, used my Disney Visa card for 6 months no interest BIG PROBLEM.
I checked with both Chase and member services and they stated 6 months no interest. The bill comes in and the whole balance is on the card. Called Chase Visa, Disney billed under Vacation Club not Cruise line no free interest.
Called Disney and explained that they transferred points to the cruise line and that it should have been billed under cruise line. After 30 minutes and numerous people no one can figure out how to fix the problem.
Called and left message for numerous other in member services never got a call.
Bottom line is the bill is due and I had to pony up the full amount or pay the interest What a rip off.

Be careful. Using the Disney Visa card for a cruise, will not keep you from making a payment for 6 months. You still have to make monthly minimum payments on the amount because it is just interest free for 6 months. They do not advertise this as no payments for 6 months.

I would call them again and see if they are actually charging you interest on the amount.

Technically, you're right. It's not "no payments", but it is "no interest". So if you pay your bill in full every month (minus what you owe for the cruise) for those 6 months, you won't pay any interest and you're not paying for the cruise for those 6 months either.

We've done this twice now and it's worked out very well.

That said, we experience the same thing as the OP when we booked the Member Cruise for last October. It's billed under DVC, not DCL. I think the same is true if you cruise on points. I believe the Disney Visa 6 months no interest deal is only for those cruises booked through DCL or a travel agent.

Not only that, you have to book a ressie at WDW through a Magic Your Way vacation. Anything else you pay for "the vacation" ie: tickets, rooms, etc., if you charge them, there is no deferred interest.

Is this true? If I charge my room only nights at Poly in December without a vacation package (MYW) it will not be interest free? I thought all purchases for WDW vacations were interest free! I thought my DVC discounted AP passes I'm buying at the end of summer would also be interest free! this is very disappointing.

OT, how do I redeem my rewards points and how many do I have to have in order to redeem. I currently have 15.

This is true no 0% it is for vacation packages only that include a MYW pass and booked through disney only.
Call the number on the card to redeem the points they will send you a card that has an expiration date on it (watch the date as the points cancel at that time but it is a long period) with the points you have on it and then you can transfer points at any time up to the expiration date I think it is a 10 point min. to transfer

ive been trying to get one these visa's but havent gottin it yet. but maybe ill wait seeing its giving troubel. ill just get dvc and be just fine
