Disney Visa Points Question

Hey,

Hope someone can help.

Ususally I use my Disney Visa Points toward the balance of my vacation package but this year I thought I might use them in the parks for souvenirs and such. That being said my question is: can I use the points anywhere on Disney property or just select places??

I haven't been to a place on property that didn't take it. The only place I wasn't sure about was Downtown Disney. What I did was just charge to my room key and then later go to the front desk and use my Disney points to pay off my room balance. This way I didn't have to wonder if they took it or not. Of course it only works if you're are staying on property, and it sounds like you are. Enjoy those points!

You believe you can use them anywhere that takes credit cards. They have to be able to swipe the card. There are a few small carts and such that don't but they are the exception. Unfortunately I seem to go through those points so fast once I am at Disney that I don't have a problem!

When using the rewards card in the restaurants or stores, it's nice because the receipt shows you the balance of what's left on your card. We used ours for souvenirs and restaurants 2 years ago and I can't think of any place that didn't take it. But the receipt from Rainforest Cafe shows it as a room charge (which it wasn't)---so that one would be my only questionable place. We might have had to put that one on our credit card.

No, you first need to transfer how many points you have available to a rewards card. If you have an existing rewards card, you can do this on-lline (must have at least 25 to transfer). If you don't have a card, it is free to get one, just leave some time before yur trip to get it in the mail.

You can transfer points online or over the phone. Their site says to do it at least 3 weeks before you leave. Once you receive this rewards card in the mail, you need to activate it over the phone. Then you just hand the sales clerk this card at WDW and they deduct your points as you spend---very easy!

Does anyone know exactly how long it takes to get the Disney Rewards card in the mail? Does it actually take the 3 weeks they say? The reason I ask is that I leave next week but just ordered the rewards - there was a slight communication problem b/w my mom and me on who was doing the actual ordering.

I ordered mine 7/5 and the receipt said it would arrive between 7/9 and 7/16----I got it within 4 or 5 days.

If you happen to be in Disney when your credit card statement closes you can call and have your new points added to your rewards card that you have with you.

I lucked out with that last year. We used my credit card for trinkets and gifts and the rewards card for meals. My statement closed on the 13th and I was there until the 15th. So, I called the credit card and had the points I obtained from my disney trip added (since my statement had closed) and Mom & I did a little "free" shopping on our last day. Nothing better than getting "free" stuff.

I didn't receive double points. I haven't seen that promotion for quite a few years. You should have gotten 20 points on your statement.

The Disney rewards dollars cannot be used at the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin, but can be used at the gift shops at those resorts. I also think some of the places at DTD do not accept them. That being said, as others have said, they can be used pretty much everywhere else at any park or resort location that takes credit cards (e.g., pretty much everywhere, except some of the carts).

Did you sign up for the promo?? I did a triple point promo for May, June and July but I had to sign up for it online. When my May statement came I noticed that I didn't get my "extra" points so I called and CS said it takes 3 months to get the extra points!!!

Where did you hear about a promo for double points at?? I've been a Disney cardholder since the beginning and I never saw a double point promo for May June or July I get online a few times a week to check my statement too.

Well, I got my answer from Disney Visa----they only offered this triple point promotion to certain people. Gee, how fair is that? And here I was bragging them up. Then they told me that they offer these promotions to people and then find out feedback about it, and then offer it to everybody else.

So has anybody received a feedback form about receiving triple points? I would think it would be 100% positive, wouldn't you? They must think I just fell off the turnip truck. You mean someone is actually gonna say, "Gee, I just hated receiving triple points for those 3 months---no thanks, don't do it again!"

Us loyal customers get nothing, again.
