Disney Visa Perks

Maintaining a balance and paying interest AT ALL eliminates any value from any rewards you get. USE your cards, but pay them off every month. This maximizes your rewards and you pay NO interest.

I love my disney visa! and it has the lowest interest of all of ours (5.99%).

We have had our card for three years now and it is almost the only card we use. We used to have another card from Chase and we stopped using it after we got the Disney Visa and Chase finally closed the other card up.

We ALWAYS pay the balance each month. We do it on-line so we never miss a payment and never get charged intrest. We have probably earned around $700 Disney dollars so far.

I have never seen an offer for bonus dollars though. How do you get that?

Eric

This is the best card I carry and I have many :scared: :headache:
As stated above do not transfer over any balances to this card. They may give you free interest for a few months but the transfer fee will kill you.

What make this the best card you carry? The 1% rewards are pretty poor. They don't even offer multiples for Gas or Groceries.

Joe

Ah, ok. I didn't know you didn't get charged interest if you paid it off every month - I just always thought you were charged interest on every bill. Thanks - that makes more sense!

Pardon the potentially stupid question (I don't know a whole lot about credit cards), but isn't the amount of interest you end up paying in the long run, even if you pay the card off every month, more than the amount of Disney dollars you earn? So I might earn $200 in Disney dollars, but ended up paying way more than that in interest...? Hope I worded that correctly - I know what I'm trying to say

If you pay off the card balance every month, you incur no interest. That is the only way to make having the card worth anything. We pay our balance every month and the 1% of purchases is ours to keep. The last time we went to WDW in 2007, our reward points paid for several days worth of meals and also paid for some souvenirs. I currently have almost 900 reward dollars and will apply it to our DDP.

I love this card as well. We use it for all of our everyday purchases and make sure to pay if off every month. It was great to use for all those Christmas presents knowing it was giving me more rewards dollars for our Feb trip. We were able to pay for all our disney tickets for our upcoming trip using the rewards dollars that we have earned this year.

I love the Visa Epcot character picture. My husband has a card as well, so we always get 2 pictures. One great thing about it is that they let you chose from any picture on your photopass card if you don't like the character picture. So we always get the character picture on my card and then one of our other favorites on my husband's card.

Actually now through the end of March they are offering 5x the points. There are details to the deal, but I would call them if you didn't get the ad in the mail.
Also, 1% isn't a lot, but the points don't begin to expire until after 5 years. We have a family of 5 and I anticipate being able to buy our 5 day hoppers this summer purely with our points. They do add up fast.

I wonder if this 5x the points deal is for everyone...:confused3
I don't remember getting anything about that. Was it with your statement? I sometimes forget to open them because I pay online.

I recieve the mailers about the 5x bonus points. It's not in the statements, because I'm paperless (do everything online). I get a folded postcard type advertisement in the mail, then I register online to enroll in the 5x program. You may think it's junk mail if you don't read it through.

I didn't receive anything about the 5X either. Do you think they send promtions to only select people?

Really? I didn't know this. Last time we were there, we used my card to get the free picture. If we go again and DH's card, we can get another picture? (It's the same account).

It's just one per account, per day.

I believe the 5X promotion right now is only for gas purchases and you have to register for it online or over the phone. There's no extra charge or anything but they don't automatically do it (no idea why).

I generally use my Amex for day to day things and pay my school tuition and bigger purchases with my Disney Visa and pay it off each month. I haven't gotten a ton of Disney dollars but every little bit counts.

I got my Disney Rewards Visa a couple of months ago when they had the $75 incentive and wish that I had gotten it sooner. I use credit cards for as many of my purchases as I can and always pay each of them off every month. I have a US Air Visa and enough miles to fly back and forth to Europe a couple of times so now I'm working on Disney Rewards. I have to pay cable, phone, gas and grocery bills anyway so I may as well get something back. I'm pretty self disciplined about spending money so credit cards have never been a problem for me.
I haven't heard anything about the 5X rewards but am very interested in finding out about it.

I recommend calling them. It may be that they only sent it to ppl who spend a certain amount @ month, but it may be open to everyone. It can't hurt!

The deal is for gas, groceries, airlines and restaurants (i'm looking at the postcard now). You hvae to spend at least $1000 @ month before it becomes 5x points. Otherwise you still get the 1% as usual. There are no penalties if you don't spend enough to get the 5x points. I confirmed all this with them before I signed up for the plan.

We use the Disney Visa for EVERYTHING too! My hubby and I pay 100% of it off every single month, so no interest! We like the rewards...sure $1 out of each $100 doesn't sound like much, but I've gotten the 5x rewards quite often...AND having the disney card opens up a lot of the travel specials earlier to the card holder than to the general public.
We go to Epcot and get the mickey and minnie character greeting and photo for free. It's kind of fun...and it's the only 1 on 1 time that anyone will get with those two at Disney.

I was curious about this as well, I don't mean the perks that you get outside the parks I wonder about the perks you receive INSIDE the parks, any discounts or specials that anyone knows of? Is the 5 by 7 picture about it? TIA

there are a variety of perks: discounts (sometimes close to 50% off hotel stay on the disney campus). if you go to chase.com/disney it lists some, maybe all, of the benefits.

I love the perk of people saying 'wow! I love your card!':lmao:
I can't tell you how many people tell me how much they love my "Classic Mickey." When we go, we get multiple cards, put a certain $ amount on each and give one to each of our daughters for use in the parks. It is great because after each purchase, it counts down the balance so they know how much they have to spend. It becomes a Disney debit card for them. We determine the initial dollar amount based on how good they have been, what chores they do, and their grades. They lose dollars for misbehaving.
