So, we have a Disney Visa. A few moments ago (actual moments), I received an email about a Disney Visa Members event. An event for kids 3-8 at Disney Stores. A tie-in for Monster's Inc. Early access to the store and the kids participate in a sort of Scare University orientation. University I.d. cards, Scare 101 class that kind of thing.

I think: "Cool, my son will like that". Try to register, and every single location near us is full. Every single one.

Did I receive this email late? I tried to sign up within 5 minutes of the email having hit my inbox and there was no availability left. My Disney Visa membership benefits suddenly doesn't seem so beneficial.

I got mine. It was in my inbox first thing this morning. Sorry you couldn't register. :(

I didn't even get that email and I've had a Disney Visa since it first came out. :sad1:

Didn't see the email. Maybe it is only at certain locations. I understand your frustration, but the store only holds so many people. You may want to check your service and see if there is a delay. What is the date stamp on when the email was sent?

I got the email & registered my daughter yesterday morning. Maybe they go out in batches? See if the store has a stand-by list or if they'll let you just show up day of in case another kid doesn't (always bound to happen).

Didn't get any email here either & I have the Premier card - it must be regional or whatever.

I have to say though, if these are the kind of perks you expect to capitalize on as a Disney Visa holder you are probably going to be disappointed. There aren't many of these kinds of events, definitely not enough to legitimize the credit card. Our perks are more from discounts at the parks for tours, etc, discounts for online & in store shopping, bonus Disney Dollars saved & used for spending on trips.

Honestly, I don't really expect any perks at all. I never use the card. It just would have been nice have been able to use a perk they actually do offer, albeit infrequently. I think I received the email too late to take advantage of it.

I got the e-mail on Wed, think I signed up on Thursday with a couple stores available near me. We happened to go to the one I signed up for yesterday and I asked a CM about it, and she had no idea what I was talking about, which I thought was a little strange.

Huh, I saw it and got a reservation without issue. Most stores are doing the same event for the general public after the visa hour so you can still go and do it. Probably best to aim for the earlier time (i.e. when it opens).

Thanks, I'll check and see if that's the case for our store too.

Yes this was the case at our store too. There was a flier with a couple of times available and I think it was more than just this coming weekend too.

I couldn't sign up for the location closest to me. I was able to sign up for one a bit farther from my house.

Sorry you could not register. I know it is not the same but Lowes has Build and Grow workshops for kids and there is 1 in 2 weeks (6/22 and 6/23) that is Monsters University themed. They are building a wooden chest and it is free! Maybe your son could do that instead.

Thanks, we are signed up for that one.

In case anyone is a "Despicable Me" fan, Home Depot is having a free building/craft event on July 6th.

You might want to try again. I got the email last week and didn't really read it until yesterday to realize you needed to register. I tried to register yesterday and all I could find was 1 spot at one store (I have 2 kids). I took it, and on a whim decided to try again today - I was able to get 2 spots at that same store. I reserved that one and cancelled the original one.

Keep trying - you might be able to get a spot pixiedust:
