Disney Visa is it worth it???

Please PM me! I tried to PM you, but as a "youngling" I can't send PMs until I have at least 10 posts.

Added:

Forgot to add, that I'd be happy to use you as a referral. I plan to sign up for a DV when I book our trip in the next couple of weeks.

I just PM'd you....

100% worth it in my opinion

Pro's:
No annual fee
discounts in the park
free stroller rental with each card
free pics in the park
And the free points!!! We use our card for everything possible and pay it off as we go. We will have over $300 free money when we go on our trip.

Con's:
Could cause a problem if you use the card too much and don't pay it off...

Watch which website you sign up though. Some you only get like a $15 gift card to the Disney store. We got $40 credit on our first bill, which was great!

I did it through Disneyland.com and got the $40 deal. WAY better than the $15 disney card! I figured the meet & greet would be worth it since we have a 6 & 3 year old.

The Disney Visa has so many side perks that it is definately a good deal. I try to only use it at DL where it is an especially a powerful tool in reducing the cost of the trip. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I got your PM and tried to reply back, but apparently I can't even reply to your PM since I don't have 10 posts (at least I'm racking up extra posts replying onlist though, I guess).

Anyway, once you mentioned having to send me the web link, I realized it probably won't work. I am planning on applying for the DV when we book our trip at Disneyland.com and getting the $40 off offer. I went ahead and followed the link to the application hoping there was a place I could enter a code or name for a referral, but I guess not. Looks like I'd have to use the other link you mentioned, but then I'd lose out on the $40 off deal. Sorry. Was hoping I could spread some joy your way since I'm planning on applying. Bummer. :sad1:

I don't think the perks are as good as the old Disney Club. I don't think the perks are as good as was promised at sign up. I don't think the perks are as good as they were when I first got the card. I don't need strollers anymore and my kids are older and not as much into the meet and greet. Although you are paying it off, I think the interest rate is too high for what you get in return $1 for every $100 spent. I think there are better affinity programs out there.

From now on, I am saving the money on the interest by no longer using the card and sticking the interest money in the bank instead. I will save money for Disney quicker than I will by trying to earn rewards points.

Sorry to be the first naysayer. I am usually more positive about things on this board, but I am just really disappointed in this card. I would much rather pay some money for a Disney Club membership again and have some real benefits. I used to get special rates that were great and that didn't become available to the general public. Just about all of the Disney Visa rates become available pretty quickly to the general public and they are rarely that great.

I completely agree with you about how you negate the points if you pay the high interest. When I signed up for the card I almost felt dirty since we have been doing Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University... but I have never had a balance nor will I ever have a balance on a credit card. I'm just going to use the card for the meet & greet and strollers.:thumbsup2
