Disney Visa...infuriating

Man this post is really scary. I am sorry this happened to you. I am not sure what I would do if I was you.

I've had the card since Day One.
Infuriating is how over years the earning benefits became less and less. Used to be they would have a few offers of 3x even 5x per year. Now you have to pay a yearly fee for that. And on top of that, it's not on all purchases, I say NO WAY to that.

Sorry, I love my Chase. They don't make any money on me on interest...usually charge 3000-5000 a month and pay it off and they have only upped my credit.

Ditto. Our credit card usage sounds almost identical, and my credit line has only been upped as well. I have the SW Chase card though, not the Disney Chase card. Sorry to hear about that, OP! I would not be a happy camper either.

-Update- I've spoke with them four times since last friday and each time I was denied a reversal I asked to speak to that persons Superiovisor, then had to wait for a call back. I THINK, that it will be reversed tomorrow. They had our income a little lower than it is I told her I would happily prove our income. This is not why it was reduced though. The lady from yesterday said between the large payment and the change in activity it red flagged us. A flag is one thing, a reduction of thousands of dollars is another. The lady from today said it was a combination of everything but said with the explanation I provided today she could reverse it as long as our income could be varified.

This experience has really been crappy. It sounds like this isn't uncommon behavior for them and I will not make this mistake with them twice. I also wanted to share that our credit limit on this card has been raised 3 times in 7 years without us requesting it.

Time to get a new credit card. IF and IF they reup the limit.....DON'T cancel it... Having a high credit limit with little to no balance increases your credit score. Get a new card.....from anywhere else.....and stop using chase. Me, my only card is chase....but I will be screwed if that happens to me. I have a 10,000 limit, and sometimes we push close to that...but pay it off quickly in large amounts. I hope never do that to me. It will be my last day with them.

That is odd. You will think being a card for a vacation destination big transactions specially from Disney wouldn't trigger anything. Isn't that the incentive to get the card in the first place? DH has one and I have one and never had that issue. I hope they fix it for you.

Weird, I have lots of chase cards and several times a year we pay off large balances. Haven't ever had this happen.

That said, in terms of real-world points to cash ratio, from what I can tell the Disney visa is poor in terms of sign up bonuses and rewards points, better with a travel card like sapphire or Barclay arrival +.

What a bummer! :(
So, they just drop your credit line? I mean what if you had a balance on there still, would they have still done that?

Sorry for my blank reply. Sometimes the new board is wonky and it wouldn't let me actually add words to a post :) I'm sorry this happened to you! I also feel like the companies are still making plenty of money off 'me' since I charge everything and they get those merchant fees. I pay off everything each month also because getting a tiny reward in while paying giant interest out is just silly. I have 2 Chase cards..one for the 5% cash back categories and Disney. I also have a Capital One, and they did an odd thing to me also. I hardly ever use it, and it has a fairly low limit of 5K. So..it's at zero balance and I decide to do the DVC members cruise. Well, that puppy has to be paid in full at time of booking..on a credit card. Not high enough credit, of course, on any card, since all cards at 5K or lower (and I'm happy to have them that way). So I call to get the Cap One raised (can't remember why I chose that one and not Disney?) and of course it has to go through a process (back in the old days you'd just call and someone on the phone would review and it would be instant) so, no, that isn't going to work, so I finally called an online bank I have a debit card with and transfered from accounts, yadayada etc and got it booked. So, about a week later I get a form letter from Cap One DENYING my credit raise..becasue.. "I don't utilize available credit" so since I don't carry a balance I can't put a big purchase on it? oooookkkk.

I have 2 Disney Chase cards...regular and premier (which is higher APR but gets me 2% when used in Disney stuff so that's what we use to get AP and on dining and our DVC annual dues and such). They increased my limit and never reduced it, so I don't know what to say. Maybe apply for the Disney Premier card.

This is so odd? Have you not used the card in a while? I just can't figure out a reason why a large payment would trigger a red flag to reduce a credit limit? Hopefully you get it straightened out soon.

Same here. I have had the Disney Chase Visa for a little over a year. I pay everything but rent on the card so I charge around 3000 a month to it and they have upped my limit every 3 months. My credit limit has increased by $8000 in this first year.

Wow! You just never know exactly how they work, since it doesn't appear uniform. I have a Disney Visa, it is the card that I have the highest credit limit on but....I want to earn rewards for plane fare etc. so I have switched to another card. The credit game seems to involve quite a bit of skill on the users part to figure out how to keep good credit without paying high interest. Have you ever heard of "churning"....a new term to me. Anyway....good luck planning another vacation. We only live once...and it seems awfully short at times!

I have a Discover that I use for the 5% categories and the Shop Discover cash back...My husband has to ask all the time, "which card should I use?"

Our disney acct was closed because we didn't keep a revolving balance on it. It was like being punished for being responsible. So no Chase for us. They seem too shady.

We've had some problems with chase too. Most recently, my husband was in Germany and tried to make a purchase. Chase declined the purchase and sent us a fraud alert email. The email came to me not DH. So he didn't know why it was declined. So he gets out our Chase freedom card and tries to use that. It was approved. Same bank! Thank goodness that worked. The little shop didn't take Discover or American Express, and that's all he had.

The most frustrating thing is they sent us an email not long ago that we no longer had to inform them prior to travel. It made no sense.

::yes:: I have to put a post it on my husband's cards (Discover, Chase Freedom and American Express). Or else he gets really frustrated when I'm upset with him! :lmao:

I seriously love my Chase. My husband's card was stolen out of his wallet and Chase somehow knew before we knew!
