Man this post is really scary. I am sorry this happened to you. I am not sure what I would do if I was you.
Sorry, I love my Chase. They don't make any money on me on interest...usually charge 3000-5000 a month and pay it off and they have only upped my credit.

I'm sorry this happened to you! I also feel like the companies are still making plenty of money off 'me' since I charge everything and they get those merchant fees. I pay off everything each month also because getting a tiny reward in while paying giant interest out is just silly. I have 2 Chase cards..one for the 5% cash back categories and Disney. I also have a Capital One, and they did an odd thing to me also. I hardly ever use it, and it has a fairly low limit of 5K. So..it's at zero balance and I decide to do the DVC members cruise. Well, that puppy has to be paid in full at time of booking..on a credit card. Not high enough credit, of course, on any card, since all cards at 5K or lower (and I'm happy to have them that way). So I call to get the Cap One raised (can't remember why I chose that one and not Disney?) and of course it has to go through a process (back in the old days you'd just call and someone on the phone would review and it would be instant) so, no, that isn't going to work, so I finally called an online bank I have a debit card with and transfered from accounts, yadayada etc and got it booked. So, about a week later I get a form letter from Cap One DENYING my credit raise..becasue.. "I don't utilize available credit" so since I don't carry a balance I can't put a big purchase on it? oooookkkk.-Update- I've spoke with them four times since last friday and each time I was denied a reversal I asked to speak to that persons Superiovisor, then had to wait for a call back. I THINK, that it will be reversed tomorrow. They had our income a little lower than it is I told her I would happily prove our income. This is not why it was reduced though. The lady from yesterday said between the large payment and the change in activity it red flagged us. A flag is one thing, a reduction of thousands of dollars is another. The lady from today said it was a combination of everything but said with the explanation I provided today she could reverse it as long as our income could be varified.
This experience has really been crappy. It sounds like this isn't uncommon behavior for them and I will not make this mistake with them twice. I also wanted to share that our credit limit on this card has been raised 3 times in 7 years without us requesting it.

I have a Discover that I use for the 5% categories and the Shop Discover cash back...My husband has to ask all the time, "which card should I use?"
I have to put a post it on my husband's cards (Discover, Chase Freedom and American Express). Or else he gets really frustrated when I'm upset with him!
