And to think, I get excited about our measley little 100-150$ worth of points. :rotfl: I do love my Disney Visa....I mean points are points no matter how many or how few you have & it's nice to feel like you get free stuff for using your credit card.

I have thought about paying my mortgage etc with the Disney Visa too, but I could never find a place where I could enter my card info so I assumed it could not be done. I'm going to have to look into that now!

occasionaly they will offer triple points on certain purchases over a certain $ amount, but the minimum amount needed is usually very high. For example ~ triple points on grocery store purchases over $1000 in one billing period (those terms aren't exactly what was offered, but you get the idea) I have only seen the offer one time and it seemed ridiculous to me. So basically, you can get $1 for every $100 spent and occasionaly special offers for vacations (onboard credit for DCL, 0% for 6 months on Disney vacations) and merchandise.
Right now they are offering $50 reward dollars for opening a new account and using ther card before June 30. That's how I got mine last year ~ can't beat $50 for free!!

Thank you for the info. Do you have a link to the $50 offer? The only one I found is for $25. We pay everything by CC and pay it off at the end of the month. On average we charge about $4000 a month (about $480 in rewards dollars per year at that rate). It would at least help on our trip!

Thanks!

nowellsl, what number did you call to order the new card? I called the number on the summer rewards brochure, and was told that the number was either no longer valid or not activated yet. I would love to get the new Bambi card. :flower:

I called the number on the rewards brochure - I'll check when I get home. It was an automated call and you just punch in the # that coincides with the card you want. I picked the castle because it's a limited edition. I'll post the number when I find it!

Yea for all of us Disney Visa Reward-ers!!!! We'll have right about $100 at last transfer for our June trip. Like someone said, every little bit helps!!!!!

WooHoo!!! Congrats to you! That is awesome. ::yes:: We had a good amount of reward dollars that we used for (part of) our resort payment on our Feb trip. That was nice! We meant to transfer and use our newest reward dollars for the trip we just took, but just never got around to it. So we'll have a nice amount built up for our December trip now! :goodvibes We love our Disney Visa! I want one of the new cards they have out now. :)

I use mine for basically everything....household bills and shopping expenses. Then every Friday I pay it of with a check online.

I actually pay some of my MIL's bills with it since she does not have a credit card. I change the bank account info, then make a payment right away from her bank account, then switch it back to mine.

Sounds like affinity marketing is alive and well. This card's 1% rebate is no better than Discover, and it's much more limiting than Discover (which is just cold hard cash). Sure would be nice if there was more incentive to use the Disney Visa. I got mine for the initial free gift card offer, but I never use the credit card anymore.

I know that I could be getting actual cash with Discover. However, I plan to use the money on the rewards card to pay for most of our food during our 10 day trip to the World. My DH can get VERY VERY cheap when it comes to theme park food. I know that when he sees the prices on the menus he'll want to drive offsite to McDonalds every day. So with the money on the card, I can tell him that it is "free." :flower: Between that and the DDE card, we may get to eat decent food after all.

I couldn't get my Disney Visa soon enough. I use it to pay for ANYTHING that is payable with Visa. (I was disappointed when my insurance company stopped taking Visa payments). We treat it like a debit card, buy something out of the checkbook the money comes and we always pay the bill in full each month. I never seem to get more than $100+ on the Disney Rewards card when we are ****lucky**** to take a trip to WDW. Just got $97 transferred to my Disney Rewards Card and used it to pay for Breakfast at AK with Donald and a character dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern at MK for my birthday. I even have $27 left on the card now. As a AP, I signed up for the Disney Dining Experience and got 20% off each meal. I love to save money at Disney. Yes, to some it might not seem like much, but to a WDW nut, all those dollars count.

While I will agree with you that the 1% is not all that great, for us it is easier to save some spending money for our trip by using the Disney Visa. If I were to use Discover (which I also have and used before I got the Disney Visa) I would be less likely to actually put the cash back reward into my Disney savings fund. Sounds silly, I know, but with Disney Visa, the points accumulate and I don't have the choice to spend on it anything else (which I like considering we had this trip planned anyway) Had we not had a vacation to Disney in the works, we most definately would not be using the Disney Visa, but another rewards card like Discover.

I recently also got a Citi card that offers 5% back on purchases made at supermarkets, gas stations and pharmacies. That is what I now use for those purchases since it is worth it for me to make the 5% cash back and cash in the rewards towards our vacation fund. When I reach the $300 cap, I will go back to the Disney Visa for next year's trip!

with Discover you have to spend $3000 to get the 1% reward... not so with Disney - you get the 1% instantly. THAT is a difference.

We had $350 in Disney Rewards dollars when we went at the end of April. We were also charter members, but didn't get any double pts thing! geez. We got a stupid lithograph that I recycled after it got ripped by my 2 yr old.

We have a Toys R Us visa, the Disney visa and a United Visa too. We alternate between the 3 so that was only about 1/3 what we could have had if we had been working at it.

Nora

I have had mine for 2 months now and have a grand total of $18 :teeth: (with 14 more coming at the end of the month) I'm not in the big time with you folks but that is ok, I am saving these for our 2009 trip where it will be our 10 year wedding anniversary and we really want to go all out.

I just charged my add-on to my DVC w/my Disney Visa!!
Gimme those rewards :rotfl2:

Where can you use the Reward Dollars? Can you use them at the Disney Store? What about the theme parks, restaurants, and resorts?

Thank you!

you can use the reward $ any place Disney owned ~ resorts, DCL, theme parks, restaurants, Disney store, etc ( although I'm told that some of the food/drink vendor carts in the parks can not take the rewards card if they don't have a debit card scan device)

Since Disney doesn't own the Disney Stores anymore (bought by Children's Place), can you still use them there? Thanks!

if you get the rewards points when you transfer a balance to the Disney card?
