Sorry if this is on the wrong board...feel free to move it if it is. But i just got approved for the disney visa and i was wondering about some of the extras u get. i know i can get 10% offsome tours and 10% off the world of disney store but what else? it says i also get 25 dream dollars(after first purchace with card)...is this disney dollars and do they send them to me? Thanks in advance i just figure it would be good to know all the extras i get before i go to disney in June! :wizard:

Hi, we signed up about a year ago. Mostly to acquire the reward dollars to use for our trip to Disney ($1 for every $100 spent). Of course you should pay the card off each month otherwise the dollars you think you are saving are really cancelled out by the interest. The $25 dream dollars is a gift certificate that you can use at Disney (anywhere I think). Ours expires 12/06 so I'm glad we were able to book a trip before then.

They'll send you your $25 gift certificate around a month after your first use of the card. If it's the same thing I received - it's a paper certificate and it's good for purchases at the Walt Disney World resort. If it's not the same thing I received, maybe someone else can better help you, LOL.

I also wanted to add that when you get the card, sign up for the online access because that will allow you to look up the current offers and discounts given.

The photo session at Epcot is great, also I second signing up online and checking rewards, they had a thing for 25% off halloween costumes in October, and generally have disneyshopping discounts.

I received $50.00 of rewards for the card after first purchase. But that was placed on the card points. I recieved a gift certificate for disneyshopping that was for 25.00 off purchase by a certain date. Hope that helps

I've had my card since -DAY 1- thats what it says on my card--member since day 1! :p

anyway- i LOVE my card i use it for EVERYTHING! then just pay it off- i use it to pay my car ins- groceries, anything possible- just to get my points!

i recenty cancelled all of my cards and kept my disney visa- when a department store etc asks me if i would like to open up an account to get a % off- no thanks- i would rather get my disney points!

you can manage your reward points online also once you sign up on the site.

I think they also offer no interest for 6 months on the deposit for booking your trip. I thought you got a percentage off any gift shop on Disney property not just one particular one.

Do you know which characters are at the photo session?

I have not had my card since day 1, but we do the same thing. I bought a new car and put the $3K deposit on the Disney card to get the reward points (Of course, I always pay the card off every month). We charge groceries, gas, cable TV, etc, Basically any company that accepts payment with a credit card. Like I said I have not it very long, but we already have $268 points for our Vacation in April. Would you mind if I ask how many points you have used on any one vacation? I was just curious.

They don't tell you because they might even change out throughout the day. Every time I have been they are the main characters, Pluto, Minni, Mickey, Goofy, or Donald.

Don't forget the VISA member PINS other collectibles .

Things change all the time (waiting for the Movie premiers to return).

Also WDW and DL have very different discounts as well so the web-sight helps sort it out.For some discounts you don't have to use the card just show it.

M & G do change we 've had Mickey & Goofy at DL and Minnie & Goofy at WDW .Remember you can get 1 free each day but you have to pick it up that day.

tmt martins... get 1 free each day?? is that a pic at Epcot????

Yes 1 free per day .

Now you can use your regular Photopass card so that all the pics taken will be on your card. This makes it nice if you do the CD .

They only let you pick a free one from that day from the M $ G but it is still 1 per day.It must be picked up that day at Epcot before closing .

I'm still unclear  Are the M&G's only at Epcot or are they offered in other parks as well? Obviously, I won't be at Epcot everyday, but I'd make the effort to get there to pick up free pics. I've checked the disney visa website and it only mentions Epcot.

When we were there last year, it was only Epcot and was only until about 4pm?? Whatever the time was we missed it by :10min... :guilty:

The Disney Visa ROCKS! :cool1:

We use it for EVERYTHING! We plan on using the rewards dollars for our dining plan and our park passes in 2007. Any Disney lover should have one....even if it's just to see the reaction on people's faces when a middle-aged man whips out his credit card with BAMBI on it :rotfl2:

We were just there and it was GREAT...got GREAT character interaction, much better then any of the other character meet and greets...well worth the trip.

I was told that they change the characters every thirty minutes. One time we had Goofy and Minnie, then the second time we had Mickey and Donald. I was told by the photo pass people to just come back later to try to hit the other character.

It is only available at the Innovations building (can't remember if it was East or West) from 1:30 to 4:30.
