Remember Oct-Dec they offered double rewards? I finally got them on January (?) for my $1800.00 in charges I got 1 bonus reward. For my $8000.00 in December charges I got 0 bonus rewards. This is the second time this has happened, I don't know why they bother offering bonus rewards when nothing counts.

I thought the same thing also. I received an email last week that bonus rewards are being offered but you have to register. THey gave me a number when you sign on to your account. Let's see if I get it now.

maybe that is why I haven't recieved my bonus awards- there aren't any! How did you know, what is printed on your bill?

I never knew that you had to register and give a code to activate this bonus reward. I got an email that said I had to a few days ago. I would call customer service and see what they have to say.

We got 5 bonus points for our $7000 worth of purchases...........its kind of a bogus deal, don't think we will ever sign up for it again. We pay our card off every month so it was something for nothing but still not worth the effort.

Really? Wow... That's interesting.

My bonus reward was if I spent over so much on gas and groceries combined, and I believe that was per month. I received a flyer about it and the spot with the base amount was clearly set apart from the rest of the text, ready to be filled in by a printer. The amount was more than I normally spend on all my monthly gas and groceries so I'm guessing that there won't be much in the way of rewards. Mind you, I normally don't put those types of purchases on my Disney Rewards card so I'm not sure how they derived that number.

Also, rewards like this are typically based on what the store has as a description. (Awkward, I know.) So you might have bought groceries at Wal-Mart but that might be counted as some other type of store.

It is a game but since we were planning a trip to use the regular points, I just charged like I normally would.

I'll be interested to see how many bonus reward dollars I get ..... I'm not counting on many.

Our offer was for Jan-Mar, amounts over $100 for grocery stores, drug stores, gas, and dining. So I guess I'll find out in April.

I got the offer and registered, but when I looked at my statement, the grocery stores and gas stations I used the card at were listed as "other" so I'm sure they're not going to count.

Did anyone get the 5X offer with NO specification for grocery/gas purchases?? I got this email:

From January 1 through March 31, 2008, you will be eligible to earn bonus Disney Dream Reward Dollars® for the things you buy everyday.1 All you need to do is enroll in the promotion by entering your information today.

It’s our way of saying thank you for being a loyal Disney Rewards® Visa® Cardmember.

1. In order to be eligible for this bonus rewards promotion, you must first enroll through this website using the Enrollment Code referenced on your mail piece or email. Please refer to your mail piece or email for details about your special every day rewards offer, including rewards earning structure on your current rewards card. The bonus rewards offer only applies to eligible purchases made with your credit card for every dollar spent above the specified hurdle, if applicable, each calendar month from January 1 through March 31, 2008, made at retail establishments that classify their merchant locations for Visa as listed on your mail piece or email. This bonus rewards offer is non-transferable and applies only to the account ending in the last 4 digits referenced on your mail piece or email; if your account number has recently changed, please use the old number to enroll through this website.

So I read this to be that my 5X rewards will be based on my TOTAL spending above my $600 threshold, not just gas and groceries. Where does it specify just gas & groceries? I've looked everywhere!

yeah, I didn't bother registering this time for this reason...annoying!!!!!!!!

We got this same offer and will just wait and see how many bonus dollars we'll get.... I've used the card a little more than usual as I don't normally put groceries on it - figured it's worth a try. We pay the card off every month and will use the rewards this summer - extra ones would be really nice! Hoping to pay for all of our character meals w/ our Disney reward dollars (and w/ the dining surcharges for June, this could help!)

DH and I have a joint Disney VISA that we use for everything and we didn't even get the offer. However, I have my own Disney VISA and I did get the offer with only a threshold of $200/month in those spending categories, so I signed up. I used it in January for groceries and gas. My statement came and the grocery charges are listed as "other" and the gas charges are "vehicle services".

Now, logic would dictate that a store named "SuperFresh" isn't selling computer parts. And anyone familiar with the Philly area knows that the only "vehicle service" that WaWa supplies is gasoline. But because of the way that these merchants are categorized, those purchases will not qualify for the 5x bonus. So guess what, Chase? I'm not using the card any more. I feel that the offer is nothing more than the old "bait & switch".

I hadn't thought of it that way. Very good point. I have been keeping my card active to get the Disney Rewards but it really isn't worth it financially. You have convinced me to be of the same opinion.

Have you called them? A friend of mine called and they said they have it coded on their end to show up as "gas" or "groceries", etc.... if bought at a "real" grocery store. There are only like 7 general categories that show up on our statements, but they are coded differently (like vehicle expenses will show up as gas if that's what you bought, but will stay vehicle expenses if you replaced a windshield - so you should get credit for the gas purchases). I looked back on all my statements and they don't break it down specifically, I guess the only way to find out how they coded each purchase would be to call and go over it item by item w/ them - maybe if enough of us did that they would start coding right on our statements!

I got 9 bonus reward points for $5606....at least it's 9 more dollars FREE to spend in Disney :goodvibes

It takes a couple of statements before bonuses show up. I did an Aug-Oct one and just got the points on my Jan statement ($45). I am now doing a Jan-Mar one, and don't expect to see the points until June (if I have any, they set the level really high this time).

I don't understand why you all get so mad if you only earn a few dollars....that is more than if you didn't take the time to sign up for the bonus. And signing up only takes a couple minutes.
