Disney visa double pts offer

I didn't get the offer either. I wish I did. Kinda sounds like this promo works the same as PIN codes for resorts...some get it, some don't??

After reading these posts, my DH and I called Chase. Well, after a lengthy conversation with a customer service person, I was told that this was nothing more than a signup promotion---when I explained that I thought that was incorrect and explained about the wonderful network of friends here who shared information, and about some of the things we'd read here, she put me on hold to investigate. When she came back to me, she told me again that it was a promotion of some sort through marketing and she couldn't explain why some existing customers were offered this and some not. She did kindly offer me TWO DISNEY DOLLARS, which I found insulting and asked to speak to her supervisor.

When I got the supervisor on the line, we went through the SAME process, I got the same some got it, some didn't answer, she even asked for the DisBoard website address, I kindly gave it to her. In the end, she said that she would pass our request to receive the doubled points along to "marketing" and that we may/may not hear from them as they were continually trying to come up with new marketing promotions for existing customers, etc., as they liked to do what they could to make their customers happy! Ask me if I agree with that statement?????????

Long story short, I never really got a good answer as to why some people received this bonus and some of us didn't. I did tell the customer service rep that I spoke with that I WOULD post the information that I received today and hoped that all Chase customers in good standing who were slighted in this offer would give them a call, and she said she hoped they did as it helped them know more about what their customers wanted!!!!

Sign me, a VERY unhappy Chase customer!!!!!!

I will tell you why I think I got it! My one year of 0% interest is almost up and they want me to SPEND!!!!!!!!!

Just a heads up to anyone who is participating in this promo, check your statements for how Visa categorizes stores. The promo is for the categories: gas, dining, groceries, and dept stores. Most stores are categorized as "other".

On our statements, Kroger (where I do the majorority of our grocery shopping) is "other." We have two regional grocery store chains in our area, and they are both "other" on our statements.

McDonald's, Wendy's, and Jack-in-the-Box are categorized as "dining AND entertainment". We have never had a gas purchase categorized as "gas". It is always "vehicle expense." That's the one that really gets me!

I really think this promo is a rip-off to coax card holders into extra spending. Check your statements carefully to see if anything is ever categorized as it needs to be to get the bonus rewards. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I don't want anyone to spend extra thinking they are going to get the bonus rewards when it really is far fetched at best.

We get these offers from time to time, but we ignore them. We carry on with business as usual, and if we happen to get the bonuses then that would be great.

Pixie dust to everyone who is working towards the bonus.

I got the code but don't think it is worth it to spend $$ just for double points. However if you pay off your card each month and you use it for purchases anyways it would be a good deal.

Christmas is around the corner, shop away!

WOW! I didn't even realize how they classified the purchases. What a rip! and I was so excited to get the offer.

Ultimatley, I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference. We always pay the card off each month. The only change is that we usually take out about $250 from the ATM each week for small purchases but instead have been using the card more (so there is a bigger balance, but more money to pay it at the end of the month). The end result is the same, we just wanted the points. We would have done this anyway as our trip is only a few months away and we are stockpiling Disney Dollars. Still, the advertisment is misleading.

I received the promotion in the mail, called the number and was instantly enrolled. We are off to WDW in December, so the extra rewards will help.

I signed up, too, but beware that you have to spend over $1200. per month in order to even start getting the double points. Not as nice as it first sounded!

Amount spent per month seems to vary widely from person to person. My offer is double points on qualifying purchases over $450 per month. I read another thread where someone else's was $600 per month.

I received the offer this week. It lists the months as October, November and December. The marketing department needs to send out their postcards a little earlier! I called the number and signed up through an automated response. Real quick and simple.

We use the card for everything and then pay it off each month. Last year we had a couple of hundred dollars for our Disney vacation. It came in handy for snacks and souvenirs. Now I need to start saving for December 2008!

The store category is established when the store applies to accept credit cards. Some are very specific, others apply for a more generic category. The problem is that the Chase program only looks to match specific category's. I buy my gas at a gas station owned by my local grocery store. They only have one credit card account and purchases are processed as food. If they had a separate account for their gas stations, then my gas purchases would be gas and not food.

The spending required to get double points is determined by how much you use the card. The promotion is designed to get non-users to become users. People who use the card a lot have a higher requirement or may not even receive the offer.
