Disney Visa Discount Question

i know its valid at the world of disney or whatever the giant store is in dtd. i think its over a certain dollar amount, $50. you have to ask for it, they dont automatically apply it and it has to go on your disney visa. you cant combine it with other forms of payments, so when i was there my total was $75 but i had a $50 reward GC. i used the GC because my 10% was only 7.50 and i would have rathered used the GC and go without discount. you can always call the customer service #, they are very helpful. i called while in epcot b/c i couldnt figure out where to go for the photo spot!

The Disney Discount is 10% for single purchases of $50 or more prior to tax and you do have to ask for it. A $50 minimum pre-tax single transaction merchandise purchase is required to receive discount. Discount is not valid on purchases of ticket media, gift certificates, Disney Gift Cards, videos, DVDs and CDs, Disney Dollars, sundries, periodicals, digital and video cameras, disposable cameras, film, consumer electronics (e.g., CD players, TVs, DVD players), tobacco, alcohol, In-Park balloon vendors, Add-a-Dollar (Wildlife Conservation Fund), postage stamps, rentals (e.g. strollers, ECV, etc.), all Titleist and Cobra golf equipment, National brand fragrances, treatments and cosmetics, Personalization, Imaging and Disney’s PhotoPass® product, Lladro, Armani, Hummel, Swarovski Crystal, Walt Disney Classics Collection, other collectibles and select merchandise. Discount is not available at Walt Disney World® Resort Operating Participant locations, including but not limited to, China Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, and Morocco Pavilion at World Showcase in Epcot®, Arribas Brothers, Basin, Basin White, Cirque du Soleil, Curl by Sammy Duval, Ghirardelli, House of Blues, Hoypoloi, LEGO Imagination Center, Magic Masters, Magnetron, Niki Bryan Spas, Orlando Harley Davidson Store, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, Richard Petty Driving Experience, Rubio Balloon Arts, SD Watersports, Sosa Cigar, Sunglass Icon, Surrey Bike Rental, T-Rex Café Shop, Wyland Galleries, and any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by the owners of the Walt Disney World® Resort. Really? Last trip I went to World of Disney, showed the card, asked for the discount and then paid with my Discover card (better points at the time!). I've done that a couple times in the past and the cast member has never said no. They just let me charge on the Discover card.

yup i was pretty peeved b/c i was going to the balance on the visa and thought it was lame i couldnt get a discount with the reward from the same CC. maybe my castmember was just a grouch.

We have had many different experiences in the same trip. Some CM's will give you the discount even if you spend less than $50.00. I always ask if I spend over $50.00, but I have had them just give it when I spent less. Then other places don't give it. Also I have used other forms of payment and just showed my Visa and they gave it to me. I don't think they are trained very well on when to give it. I even argued with the first person who gave it to me for a $6.50 purchase, and he said it was for every purchase. So I took the discount he gave me, but I didn't think he was right. I think it depends on the CM.

We spent about $90 at World of Disney, but the CM wouldn't give me the Visa 10% off because I wanted to use my Disney Visa reward points gift card. However, I had my AAA card with me and she took 10% off for that so I guess I got what I wanted one way or the other. :goodvibes

AAA is only for World of Disney and you have to spend at least $50. Although, I did once get the 10% off without spending 50, but they are not suppose to.
