Disney Visa discount + other payment method

I'm planning on booking the SPD promo when it comes out through a trusted WDW exclusive agency. In the past when I've booked using a Disney Visa discount I've wanted to pay the balance that way for the free financing. This time I have the $$ ready to pay now. I really want to do the Target buying WDW gift cards method because I have a coupon and would save an extra 10% which is a lot on a $5000 trip. BUT now they apparently are very strict about paying 100% by DV according to my agent. Has that been true for others? I guess I'll book the DV and then see what's still open when the public discount starts? If I have to move to a more expensive room category It would negate all the savings anyway....

That doesn't really make sense because you just have to make a deposit on the trip to book it. I've never seen that they require payment in full using the DV to book a DV discount. I'd look into what it specifically says in the fine print when/if the discount is announced. It will surely say somewhere if you have to pay in full with the DV to get the early discount.

The Disney Visa card promotions (all of them in the past... I guess no one knows what they'll say for the future) only require you to make the $200 package deposit with your DV. The rest can be paid however you like.
