I am trying to figure out if there are any perks to paying for my cruise with the Disney visa card. I checked the card website but didnt see anything. I figured you guys would know.

You do get interest-free for six months, and a $50 onboard beverage credit. However you cannot get the beverage credit if you've used an OBB.

Thanks so much for the information!
Do I need to call and make sure they add the drink onboard credit or is it automatic?

As noted, you can get a $50 beverage credit, as long as you pay the whole cruise (deposit to full payment) with the card.

And the 6 months free interest is good. One note, if you pre-pay your gratuitites, that qualifies for the 6 months no interest. But, if you just let the gratuities be added to your onboard account and back your account with the Disney Visa, it doesn't qualify.

I wonder if the policy changed when they went from a regular $50 credit, to just the beverage credit. Three cruises ago, I think, we could not combine Disney visa with OBB. But that was back when it was a standard credit and not just the beverage.

Yes it does!
We stupidly didnt get an obb on our last cruise and we are kicking ourselves.

Can someone explain "beverage credit"?

We got the $50 standard credit a few years ago is it the same

It's supposed to only be redeemable for beverages - not merchandise, excursions, spa appointments, etc.

And don't forget the Disney cash!
I have the basic (so 1% here) but by putting the cruise on the card, I also get a nice chunk of points :)

I add up what I will spend on the ship (gratuities, spa, excursions etc...) and add that amount to my account pre-cruise. I get 0%/6 months for the amount.

Last month I was able to use my $50 beverage credit for a mixology class for my husband and myself.

How do you know in advance of your cruise that you have the credit. I just paid for my cruise with the Disney Visa and not sure if this credit was added as I was using a TA.
