Did I miss this benefit???
Perhaps I should read all that stuff that comes in the mail....

We just put a little over 1/3 of our DVC purchase on the Disney Visa to take advantage of the 6 months interest free. We just bought DVC and were going to finance 80% of the principal, but we have decided to just pay it off before our deed records. Of course "pay it off" will be on credit cards, but we hope to get it paid off quickly and we will still get the credit card rewards. So we should have a good amount of reward dollars coming our way.

I used it to buy my add-on, then used it for 2 minor purchases that "rounded it out" to an even hundred (so as to collect my full "reward"!) And now I intend to sit on it... and wait for it to be worth something! I have a Toys R Us Visa that gives me 1% on EVERYTHING, and 4% on anything bought at TOys R Us (and since I have 3 kids aged 8 and under, and many nieces/nephews, believe me when I say that we have NO PROBLEM using the rewards from that program!!) So until I have a good reason to whip out my MemberSince Day 1 Disney card, it will have to be content keeping company with my other ne'er used cards in my purse.

Never had a rewards card before. We are charging just about everything, and paying it off in full when the statement arrives. I do have to start setting the money aside when I use it for purchases that would normally be cash (groceries, gas, hair cut, etc.) I just viewed my activity on-line and was astounded to see almost $2000 in new charges. Let's see 20 reward dollars = 2 fast food meals at WDW! We actually leave tomorrow for our first DVC trip "Home", but we didn't bother with cashing in points for this trip. We'll let them accumulate until we have enough for a nice sit-down meal or something like that. We'll, gotta go - time to get packing!

We have always used a NW airlines card - frequent flyer miles, 1 point for every dollar. We are now switching over to the Disney card, the NWA program has become increasingly harder to get FF tickets to where we want to go at the times we want to go.

For several years we have put everything on our reward card, food, gas, house payment, phone bills, car insurance payments, etc and also treat it like a check and pay it off every month so there are no interest charges. We have even decided to put my DD fall college tuition on the Disney card then pay it off with an equity loan check. At est of 13K a year for tuition that should give us some extra disney dollars.

Another advantage to putting everything on a CC is the shock you get of how much you spend in a year on just stuff. It really makes you think.

Can't use it since anyone who lives outside the US is not eligible to have one..

Thanks

We used to use our AA citibank airline card exclusively, but the last couple of years it's been almost impossible to use our miles for the times and dates we want to fly, so it's no longer worth the annual fee. We now use our Disney Card and love seeing the points accumulate! In a year we should have enough to pay for several meals or at least one park ticket....maybe two.
And like several others have mentioned ....it's fun to use. It's the first card I've ever used that cashier's smile at!

I haven't even applied for the Disney Visa, because I've been putting everything through my GM Master Card. When I bought a new car last year, I had actually accumulated $2750 in GM credit. What a big help that was! :D

I think I may soon start to shop around for another rewards credit card that has no annual fee. As of Aug. 1 of this year, GM is going down to a 1% rebate on the credit card. Bummer! :( Does the Disney Visa have an annual fee?

I have given up on my Northwest Airlines World Perks card (80% of the flights out of my city). I'm sitting with 140,000 miles but they are so restrictive on useage and seat availability that you can't use your miles very easily. I decided to go with the Disney card -- at least I can use the pointsto off set vacation costs with it points for food, park tickets etc and pay for airfare.
